Re: Would Raditz and Lunch/Launch make a good couple?
Nope. I'm not feeling it. Lunch and Tenshinhan is a couple I could get behind but Ten has no interest in relationships.

Re: does Dragon Ball feature Shit Tier Villains compared to other villains in Anime?
The movie villains are nothing to be proud of, for the most part. However, I think Dragon Ball's main antagonists are effective, particularly Freeza, the Demon King, and to a lesser degree Boo. The first two strike fear into your heart and make a reader/viewer genuinely lose hope, even when they kno...

Absolutely. As long as it airs in Canada.

Re: Does the sexualization of Bulma at the start of the series bother anyone?
Yes, there are an increasing number of exceptions now, and have been for some time (as we have indeed come a LONG way over the years): but even with the ever-increasing progress that's been and still being made, the overall broader spectrum is STILL tilted in many ways to where there's SO. IMPOSSIB...

Well, I'm glad I know what Virginia's cameltoe looks like https://i.imgur.com/VwXP4d5.jpg Everything about this is a Holocaust of wrong, but that's the apex of terror. Jesus Christ, that's something that I'll never unsee, even worse than Majin Vegeta with boobs . And I'm about to go to sleep too. N...

Re: What makes Dragon Ball special?
In my opinion, Dragon Ball is special because of what it meant to me and to a lot of other people. I decided to give Dragon Ball a try and fell in love after bingeing the Pilaf saga in one weekend. It was also there for me when nobody else was, as I had started watching the series in a time where I ...

Yes, exactly! That's what bugs me the most about Dragon Ball.KBABZ wrote:Oh god, I just remembered Chi-Chi's DB outfit. Why the crap is a twelve year old in a Shonen manga wearing something worn in the first few panels of a hentai manga??

Too damned many. But mostly earlier BGMs and variations on main themes.

Re: How did you decide/get your avatar?
I've got a panel from Peter Bagge's Neat Stuff. The character is Buddy Bradley, a despicably lovable slacker whose life is followed in Neat Stuff, Hate, and Hate Annual. All excellent underground comics from the 90s and 2000s.

Re: Does the sexualization of Bulma at the start of the series bother anyone?
It's a little strange in my opinion but it's basically cliche in anime. I mean, I'm only 17 so it doesn't affect me in that way but going forward it might make me more uncomfortable. If sexualization is tasteful and natural, then I don't have a problem with it, but if it's just done to turn fans on ...

Well, to be fair, Dragon Ball ceased to be a gag manga when Piccolo Daimao showed up and was steadily decreasing in humour even before then.

Re: How popular Dragon Ball in your country
There's a fanbase here in Canada but it's mostly people older than me. My generation (older teens) is the last to have grown up with DB, unfortunately. Plus, the fandom is significantly smaller in my generation so a lot of the people I talk to who know Dragon Ball are in their 20s or 30s. A friend ...

Re: What's the deal with these Earthlings?
It's not specified that anyone other than Bulma, Gohan, and Kuririn went far enough in space to encounter aliens. Since it's stated sometime in the early Namek Saga that Capsule Corp's space ships until then didn't go very far, it's unlikely that humans made contact with aliens before their trip. Wi...

Care to give some examples then? I'm all ears. (And one of them had better not be that one political thread where I DID get rather rude to the guy defending fascist ideology. And that was because... he was defending fascist ideology.) That was honestly legendary. I still go back and read that threa...

It will be perfect if the Japanese audio of the old series is remastered so you can actually hear a clean recording and if Canadian networks pick up Super.

Re: Dr. Slump and Dragon Ball Crossovers
I wish Dr Slump had a chance to go international. It may be too late now. It got a look in French and Spanish-speaking countries and possibly some Asian countries but never cracked the English market. It's almost certainly too late now, as it's too old-looking to realistically air on modern kids' T...
