Re: Question About Japanese Dragon Ball vol 26 DVD

Yeah, but they announced ahead of time (on their forums, at least) that the two massive boxes would contain exclusive bonus material for the super, crazy insane fans of the series willing to drop however much cash all at once instead of casually picking up the smaller releases. 200 bucks is not tha...

Re: Question About Japanese Dragon Ball vol 26 DVD

It's not an unheard of situation, even in North America. When Shout! Factory put together collector's edition of the Transformers and G.I. Joe complete series sets, they included exclusive material which were never intended to be released elsewhere and, now that those editions are out of print, unl...

Re: Phasing out Dragonball Z Season sets?

Slim packs, man, slim packs. I don't care about the fluff, but if it means subtitles and English audio on the Dragon Boxes, get them out there on the cheap! Whatever FUNi does next with the franchise color me intrigued. I remember someone asking for plenty of dubs, with a HD release that might be p...

Re: Phasing out Dragonball Z Season sets?

@Krycek7o2: Eh, alright, I've got no further argument. Still though, the other DBoxes need to come. Okay... I was expecting a bit more to be honest! I think the problem there is that FUNimation never got the complete reels (or with all the audio). So they had to work with what they had. Dragon Boxe...

Re: Phasing out Dragonball Z Season sets?

I care way more about the material being as complete as possible than how it looks in HD. Of course that's important. But we are reaching a point where certain materials needs to be preserved in the highest quality for the future. I'm not saying FUNi has to do it, since they don't have the complete...

Re: Phasing out Dragonball Z Season sets?

Plus, considering the fact that this series was never really intended for anything other than Japanese TV in the '80s and '90s, seeing it in HD just doesn't seem worth it to me. LOL, wut? Seriously, have you seen any other Japanese releases for anime from before the 90's. You'd be surprises how bea...

Re: Ever Regret NOT Buying Something?

That really tells you something when you can buy it in Japan cheaper...in some respects, the same can be said about the Dragon Boxes as well..... Right! Luckily, in my case I found an American product in Japan! Nice to see that you got a happy ending! I think the lesson we should all learn is...

Re: Ever Regret NOT Buying Something?

I saw Dragon Box 2 for $60 bucks on Ebay once and said "eh, I'll find a cheaper one later". I'm still kicking myself because of that to this very day. This very same thing happened to me with "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" Blu-ray. I knew Bandai was ceasing production of thei...

Re: Movie packs

I don't have the Dbox movies but the one plus is I hear the Japanese Audio is Stereo and much higher quality. Is that true? If so, I think I'll wait for Dbox movies :D It's true the DBOX movies are stereo and do have incredible audio quality (It's so crisp and clear with little to no static). They ...

Why not bother looking it up on eBay. It seems more productive. I've seen many members acquire this through eBay and many other websites. Try your luck looking online from reputable sellers.

That's the new versions, the original was more akin to the Superman Anthology set. I know because I used to own it. I believe those new ones are from Wal-Mart.

- A friend went to San Francisco and told me he was in Chinatown and found DB DVDs. I asked him to buy me the Dragon Box bootlegs circa 2004, I specified; "get me DVD-9 editions." - I also bought Son May bootlegs, I used to own the 5CD and the Path to Power Albums, now replaced with origin...

Might as well bite the bullet and buy it at the 200+ plus mark. I don't see these coming down, at least until a reprint. If that ever happens that is.

Re: Dragon Box , Personal Verdict

The stereo track from the season sets are indeed 192k. As Marc mentioned, the only way to have included the audio track to each episode would be to reduce the bitrate of the video or reduce the bitrate for the other audio tracks. Reducing the bitrate of the video could have been feasible if FUNimat...

Re: Kanzenban Ending

Not to mention Star Wars, where it's not easy to find the theatrical versions (and the highest quality release to date was on Laserdisc). Actually the 2006 repackaging of the 2004 DVDs included the theatrical (from the Laserdisc masters, of course!) on non-anamorphic DVD as "extras." At t...

Re: Selling Dragon Box

You should put them on ebay indivisualy, you could make a lot of money. He'd cut his profits by a large margin. I studied a lot of the trends before I sold my, and Volume 1-3, you'd end up making about 300 or so. But, you'll end up selling the rest of the volumes for a lot less since they are avail...

Re: Selling Dragon Box

Throw me your best offer. I'm seeing some of these going for $90 or more on Amazon, but that just seems ridiculous and I'd hate to ever charge that much, even for volume 2. What's the condition of each DBOX? Perfect condition. Every disc is scratch and smudge free from having been watched very spar...

Re: Selling Dragon Box Z 2 (JP Version)

If only I had the confidence and knew how to use Yahoo Japan Auctions as there are some great bargains on there. Nice find. Just remember, shipping and middle man services equate to almost 150-200 USD more. The shipping for both Z Boxes for me in 2007 was 180 for EMS. God knows what it'll be today....
