What's going to happen with Freeza?
What the heck do you guys think is going to happen with Freeza? Possibilities IMO (from most to least likely): (1) Goku and Jiren knock each other out, Freeza wins (likely while unconscious) (2) Neither Goku and Jiren knocks the other out, time runs out, U7 wins on numbers (3) Freeza knocks Jiren ou...

Re: Is theTOP the worst saga in the db universe?
The Buu saga was worse IMO, particularly all of the stuff with Super Buu and Goten/Trunks/Gotenks, zero payoff in the end. I enjoyed the Gohan stuff on Kaioshin's planet, maybe it would've been better for Earth to be destroyed, and for them to watch Buu go on a rampage. Alternatively, I wouldn't min...

Re: Will you watch the next Dragonball series if the quality doesn't improve from Super?
I actually really enjoyed Super for the most part, so I'd be ecstatic if the next series is of similar quality. Following the anime and the manga as they come out has really been fun for me. As I've said before though, the movie arcs were the weakest of the series. Not because the source material wa...

How do you feel about Super making Vegeta the secondary protagonist (as opposed to Gohan in Z)?
One of the biggest changes between the “Z” and “Super” franchises is the shift in focus on characters. Z was very much the story of Goku and Gohan. In the Saiyan and Namek arcs, they each had their own stories, culminating in final battles together. They’d spend a lot of time training together in th...

Re: Why a next generation series should be a PRIORITY
I actually thought I'd be in the distinct minority, but it looks like there are a fair deal of fans who would prefer for the story to continue to revolve around Goku/Vegeta etc.
If the character focus changes, it's just not Dragon Ball to me.

Re: How would you fit the DBZ era movies to into the timeline?
Movie 1 - Knowledge issue (Kuririn and others hadn't seen Goku in years, didn't know Gohan). Alternate timeline in which Raditz is killed and Goku survives. Movie 2 - Impossible (everyone alive in Saiyan/Freeza era incarnations). Alternate timeline in which nobody dies to the Saiyans, or Freeza isn'...

Re: At equal strength, who are the best fighters?
So we're counting abilities in general and not martial arts aptitude exclusively? Well in that case I would have to side with Buu. His magical abilities are hands down some of the greatest seen from anyone in the show. No one at equal levels appears to be capable of taking him down because of his n...

At equal strength, who are the best fighters?
A lot of the fights in the DB franchise end up boiling down to who is stronger, though abilities, tactics, and techniques do seem to count for more in the battles that are closer. Let's consider everyone in the series who has had a major fighting role. Put them all at the same level of strength, in ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread
How the heck is Vegeta fighting both Jiren and Toppo at the same time? Guessing it's either a typo, or U7 is in really dire straits and about to be eliminated (no mention of Goku in the spoiler).

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
If Super is ending instead of going on break, I really hope they don’t drop the Goku/Vegeta/Beerus/Whis interactions in the next series or whatever movies come next. They were the core of Super, and I’ve really enjoyed the chemistry in the group. Also hoping that the Freeza subplot isn't bungled. Th...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread
Just a thought... In the anime, Goku has been clearly more powerful than Vegeta since the U6 tournament arc, since he has Kaioken Blue up his sleeve. On the other hand, in the manga, Toyotaro has been clear not to put them on separate tiers: • During the U6 tournament, no Kaioken, and Whis comments ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Not to keep this an Anime vs Manga discussion, but the one thing the anime has gotten universal praise for is its portrayal of Frieza. The manga has already dropped the ball on the Frieza hype. Let's see if it will pick up in the tournament. That's actually something I've hated with the anime. Frie...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
So if there's one minute per episode, if this is going to end with the 48 minutes finishing, that takes us to the end of 130. I don't think that's likely. It's possible that one or more of the episodes lasts 2 minutes (instead of one), which happened earlier in the tournament a fair deal, but seems ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Does anyone think there’s a real chance they cut the manga’s run short in March when the anime ends? Would be absolutely devastating if they did, I’ve really been looking forward to his take for a long time. Would also suck if he’s being forced to cut it short. My ideal scenario is after the anime e...

Re: Post-hiatus-news: What series do you want next?
I’m fine with a timeskip as long as Trunks/Goten become background characters. I don’t care for their adult designs, and I’m not a fan of the “passing the torch” thing. If they’re replaced by Pan and Uub as the “kid” characters in the cast that’s fine with me. I would like to see Gohan retired. He f...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Since 'breaking your limits' is the theme of the intro and the arc in general, and we've seen Goku as well as now Vegeta do so, with (based on the titles) Toppo doing so in a couple episodes, I wonder if Jiren will also have a 'limit-breaking' power-up before the end of the tournament?

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I'm happy that Vegeta will get a new power-up (and perhaps a new transformation), but I hope the form in the ending isn't going to be his version of UI. I like Goku's version. The black hair with changes to the eyes are clear yet subtle, and make this something that isn't another SSJ variant. Hoping...

Eight minutes remaining. I don't think any episode has been *less than* one minute to date, so presumably after 126, we're going to be at 4 minutes left (at most).

Have a feeling Gohan is going to be the next to be eliminated. Probably in 124, from the (old) spoilers.
