Re: Was the original premise of the Android arc better?
One thing I really dug about at least the early Cyborg arc is dealing with an enemy that doesn't have ki. It's really interesting because a significant part of Goku's training with Mr. Popo was learning how to sense ki. They had gotten so used to sensing ki they weren't as practiced in using their ...

Re: Was the original premise of the Android arc better?
I guess I'm in the minority here, I want to see what Toriyama would've done with #19/#20. They look unnerving enough and their murderous introduction was downright creepy, I'd like to have seen where Toriyama could take that. Also, there's of course the energy draining which could've seen some great...

Re: Least favourite performances in your dub
Kirby Morrow as Gokuu. Fine voice actor, I've enjoyed him in other roles, but he was so miscast. He has serious 'dude' energy that doesn't fit the character at all. For what it's worth he did the best with what he had, he was likely told to play a generic super hero and his voice talents alone carry...

Re: Has your opinion on Faulconer softened over time?
Y’all are under no obligation to keep responding to each other back and forth. (especially in giant quote trains) Is this a new thing? I've noticed that people seem to be losing the ability to clip what they're quoting, do people just not know or care that failing to do this bloats threads and make...

Re: Team Four Star's influence on Dragon Ball's revival
Though I can see what KBABZ is trying to say, 'destructive' is a really poor choice of wording for this topic. It implies it's doing damage to the show, like, financially? Like this will destroy/end the series. Probly best to use another term here. DBZA did actually start going for a more serious to...

Re: Gohan in Battle of Gods
Since this isn't in the In Universe board, I'll give you a meta answer: the writers for the Dragon Ball anime have absolutely no clue how Gohan works post-Boo arc.

Re: Other series like DBZ Kai?
I can't think of anything official but Kai inspired fans to start their own cut of One Piece called One Pace, and I think there's one for Naruto as well. This is actually a pretty cool thing to have come from Kai. I'd never seen/read Naruto before, but the fan project 'Naruto Kai' made taking the p...

Re: Dragon ball new Faulconer style music
These tracks don't really land for me, but the concept is pretty creative, and it's impressive he's covered so much ground (seeing stuff like Vegeta's Final Bout theme is impressive, especially how it works in the Hells Bells instruments). Perhaps this might be a bit more fitting for the fan-created...

Hyper Dimension Development?
This can be a Hyper Dimension general discussion, but I really wanted to know whether there's any interviews or any worthwhile reading regarding this game. I was thinking about Dragon Ball games from around the time, and Hyper Dimension stands out as a really, really special game, which the develope...

Re: My biggest issue with Super
The current manga arc revealed that the god powers of the absorbed fat Kaioshin were transfered to evil Buu after he split into two. Evil Buu was reincarnated into Uub, that could be a way of making Uub stronger This kind of shit sounds so cool, but I know that they'll do absolutely nothing with it.

Re: Which series has better powerscaling, GT or Super?
Can people stop whiffing their own farts over their opinions on powerscaling? The topic thread isn't "is powerscaling important", we all know you're all very well versed in media, you're way smarter than most fans and you've read Joseph Campbell's work. It's about the characters, not the m...

Re: Personal Thoughts on the Ocean Dub
The Vancouver cast are more capable than FUNi's in-house cast, they were just given fewer chances to prove it (the 3 movies are basically their shot at a 'Kai', and of course they knocked it out of the park). If FUNi would've stuck with them, the dub/sub divide wouldn't be nearly as great as it is t...

Re: Best and Worst outfits of the characters
I dont really feel like naming everyone but Gohan's Saiyaman outfit (without helmet/bandana/glasses) is my favorite look for him. Missed this response. For all the people cheering for Piccolohan, I wish I saw more fans of the cape/helmetless Saiyaman outfit. This look really could've helped defined...

Re: Best and Worst outfits of the characters
Underrated post. I remember a figure coming out a few years back of this, he really wears it well.
Gotta hand it to the GT gi though, those colours really do something to me. Peak aesthetic.

In retrospect, was the (US) Dragon Box a 'monkey paw' release?
Just something I've been thinking about recently, nothing I'm about to type out will be news to anyone, but I just sorta wanted a space to throw my thoughts out, and see how you feel about it in a post 30th Anniversary Blu Ray world! :) I remember the NA release of the Dragon Box being a real triump...

Re: Rumor related question about Nozawa
I've heard about a total recast, but this is also highly improbable at this point. It's a shame, I feel like the boat has been totally missed for a recast. Kai would've been the perfect time to get fresh young talent behind the characters (give us time to warm to the voices, let them grow into the ...

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 12/4/19!)
I'm kinda relieved that you like the early Namek filler! To me its always been on par with the Saiyan arc filler in terms of quality... If not better in some aspects. I think the reason people don't like fake Namek is because it's a waste of time... I used to be the same way! I feel like a lot of pe...

Re: Goku Went Through A LOT of Character Development in the Cell Arc.
But a good part of that reason is because there were strong guys in the afterlife. To me that sounded like Gokuu trying to make it easier for everyone to accept that he's gone. I took it as another example of how he's matured, at least emotionally. Like 'hey, I'm not coming back because I'm dangero...
