Super Mario Bros. Z reboot
I saw an old thread in the Fan-Created Works subforum for the original Super Mario Bros. Z series, so I assume it's okay to make a thread about this. Mark Haynes, a.k.a. Alvin-Earthworm just released the first episode of a reboot of the original Super Mario Bros. Z series. There's improved sound qua...

Re: DB and DBZ: Parts vs Whole
Since a lot of people are bringing the action in Z, does anybody else feel like Dragon Ball has better fights and Z has better action ? Yes. I think the choreography of the fights in Dragon Ball are superior to the ones in Z. Goku vs. Tenshinhan, for example, I think is one of the better fights in ...

Re: Will Super Saiyan God be used again?
If we're talking strictly Dragon Ball Super, I'm going to make a bold prediction and say no. I think Goku will stick to Super Saiyan Blue and maybe even have one or more new transformations beyond SSJB. I do like Super Saiyan God though and hope it does make at least one more non-flashback appearanc...

Re: DB and DBZ: Parts vs Whole
Don't get me wrong, the first half has iconic moments as well. Most notably Goku punching a hole through Piccolo Daimao. But comparing the two, it''s clear that the original DB never reaches the same heights that Z reaches. Why do you feel that is? Do feel that may also be the reason why most peopl...

Re: Opinions on Pieces of Music - V4!
Yamamoto plagiarism aside, "The Ebb and the Flow" is actually a well-done piece. It's kind of reminiscent of Kikuchi's soundtrack for Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. I like the violins that kick in right around 48 seconds and the calm melody that comes in a few seconds later. It's very thea...

Re: Opinions on Pieces of Music - V4!
I'm so glad you gave the link that title. xD I agree that that's the worst opening theme song for DBZ. The beeping sound is annoying and the "DRAGON BALL ZEEE" is quite annoying too. The middle section with the riffing guitar is decent, but that's about the only saving grace for that song....

Re: 84% of Japanese college students have never read Dragon
I hate to rain on the parade, but 403 responses doesn't seem statistically significant to me. I won't argue with you there. A larger poll such as 1,000 or 2,000 people would be much more accurate. Hard for me to tell browsing through the Japanese article's text, but do they address this at all? I c...

84% of Japanese college students have never read Dragon Ball
I suppose it's only natural that a 30+ year old series like Dragon Ball isn't quite as popular as, say, One Piece or One Punch Man, but that percentage is shocking! Your thoughts? Sources: Anime News Network , Mixi News , Yara-On! 84% of Japanese College Students Have Never Read Dragon Ball Akira To...

Re: Opinions on Pieces of Music - V4!
Very elegant and ethereal. It's also simple, but effective in its purpose. I could see myself putting that song on repeat and having it play in the background while surfing the internet.

Re: Opinions on Pieces of Music - V4!
Admittedly not my favorite song from Budokai 3, but it's a nice song to accompany getting items in the story mode. I do like the '70s disco vibe it's got going on though. Since someone posted a cover of a song earlier, I'll go ahead and post a cover next... (The song begins at the 18 second mark.) N...

Re: Opinions on Pieces of Music - V4!
Pretty neat track. I could see it being in a Superman or Batman type of movie. Very tense and maniacal-sounding music leading into the calmer end part of the track with the galloping strings. Good track overall. Never seen The Fall of Men, but perhaps I should watch it sometime. Since it's getting c...

Re: Opinions on Pieces of Music - V4!
What is the name of the song that plays when Goku arrives at Bulma's party/Whis eats a Cup Noodle/Goku runs towards Whis while saying goodbye to ChiChi? Is it an original piece of music for Dragon Ball Super? I'm not sure myself, but try asking in this thread: http://www.kanzenshuu.com/forum/viewto...

Re: Opinions on Pieces of Music - V4!
Once it gets past the intro it's actually a pretty decent song. Not a huge fan of the percussion, but the rest of the instrumentals are good.

Re: Opinions on Pieces of Music - V4!
One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite DBZ Hit Song Collection albums. It's so chill and atmospheric. It's a good song to put on in the background whenever you're working on something. The singer has a great, soft singing voice that fits the instrumental part of the song very well. Let's d...

Re: Opinions on Pieces of Music - V4!
I like how the song slowly builds up as it progresses. From the somber violins to the drums coming in around the 3:50 mark, it's spectacular. One of my favorite Kikuchi songs for sure.

I've always liked the German version the most of the international versions of Dan Dan. The singer's voice is great.
