Re: Is there a reason for why the DBS Manga can’t become weekly?
In order to pull off weekly releases, mangaka have to work almost 24/7. It's a gruelling, cruel schedule to force someone into. I've been drawing a comic for fun for five years now, and I can barely manage one mediocre-quality page a week, let alone a full high-quality chapter. If I went at it full-...

Re: Kanzenshuu Members' Favorite Manga
You're right - my pick would have been the original Dragon Ball manga by an ENORMOUS landslide. Out of all the options you've listed, my favorite is easily Jaco the Galactic Patrolman . It's charming, down-to-earth, comforting, and of course hilarious. My second and third picks would be Reincarnated...

Re: Happy Birthday to Masako Nozawa!
Her Tullece performance is very akin to her Goku Black performance anyway, so the delightful "evil Nozawa" is still represented. Happy birthday!

Ha-chan was still hanging out in Jingle Village. Could've been interesting if Gohan met #8 and they bonded over pacifism or something. That could then have naturally progressed into Gohan's power-up against Cell.

Re: What parts of the franchise evoke nostalgia for you?
This is a weird one, because there are various layers and sources at work here. When I decided to start watching Dragon Ball regularly, the first thing I tuned in to was actually the "ally to good, nightmare to you" episode. I am very happy to say I have no nostalgia whatsoever for that vo...

Re: Episode #0475 (04 August 2019)
Ahhh, I love listening to people who seem like they know what they're talking about. Funnily enough, that panel with Kame-Sen'nin's video tapes (or books or whatever they are) actually caught my eye recently, but I couldn't quite make out what the titles were. Never thought I'd hear about the detail...

Just realized something about the Cell arc. When his victims are revived at the end... a whole bunch of people must've respawned in the middle of the sea where Cell blew up those islands. Including cripples and frail old folks and babies. Oh god.

Re: What was happening in the Dragon Ball series around your birth?
The day after I was born, manga chapter 246 was released, introducing Kewi on Planet Freeza #79. The day after that , Dragon Ball Z episode 23 (or as I like to call it, Dragon Ball episode 176) aired. Fittingly, my favorite character (Tenshinhan) kicks ass in it, but it is also the episode of Yamcha...

Re: Is Korin giving Goku the magic water a gag?
I imagine this was just Toriyama going "Ummm let's see how do I make Goku strong enough to beat Piccolo... Oh, I know, there was REAL super duper water all long. Yep. Sure. Let's roll with that."

Re: Your ONE favorite character and your ONE favorite version of him/her
Members being named Son_Gohan, WhisPL or VegettoEX don't necessarily mean they have Gohan, Whis and Vegetto as their respective favorites in the end. But sometimes at least, it does correlate and shows that even with years going by and tons of new characters/appearances being added, they still have...

Re: Can we consider Piccolo Daimao and Piccolo Jr the same person?
and then right as he was dying he transferred his memories and his essence, What? When did that happen? :eh: I've just read the manga to make sure and that didn't happen at all. Piccolo Daimaoh just asked Piccolo to avenge him (it was pretty much the same thing Bardock did in the TV Special). Picco...

Re: Your ONE favorite character and your ONE favorite version of him/her
If I had to pick just ONE favorite it would be Tenshinhan, but it's really hard to pick a favorite "version" of him. I guess it would be the Piccolo Jr / Saiyan arc look, scar and all.

Re: Did the franchise ever POSITIVELY affect you?
Absolutely it has! - I met one of my best friends on a forum about the Game Boy Color game Legendary Super Warriors; - Toriyama's artwork has been a major inspiration for me, and his masterful panel layouts have taught me a lot about comic-making; - My affinity for language has spurred me to embark ...

Re: What was the point of the large guard that Daimao kills inside King's castle?
I'd say the point of the character is to make the King realize that fleeing - something he'd really rather not do - is his only option because neither guns nor big brawly dudes can stop Piccolo.

Re: Long Battles
Thank you, Cipher, for posting exactly what I was thinking but couldn't quite put into words. Most of the fights have a sort of ebb and flow to them, as though they live and breathe. A story is being told while the fight is going on. The characters are going through things, not just punching for the...

Re: Is Toriyama lazy?
If I didn't know anything about Akira Toriyama or his work and I quickly browsed through a couple of Dragon Ball volumes, never in a million years would I assume the creator was lazy. The artwork and panel layouts are very clearly the work of a master. As someone who is making a comic and can barely...

Re: "SDBH: World Mission" Official Discussion Thread
There are some card abilities and robot modules that give a character a chance of reviving after dying; it's how I got through that Beerus annihilation by mere accident. Unfortunately I can't remember which specific card(s) had this ability.

What does that "BR" stand for? I've tried Googling it, but haven't been able to find a clear answer.
