There's no reason why this particular scene can't be considered canon. It doesn't contradict the manga.

Priority generally goes to those who don't rent very often or who are new subscribers. If you're a heavy user, you have to wait longer when new releases come out. :/

Yeah there's that, but who were they in the DBZ Community. It sounds so familiar but I can't place who it was.
He used to run a Brian Drummond fan page in the late 90s-early 2000s.

You can go even lower than 700 MB if it's a small movie. 500 MB, even.
It really depends more on the actual video codec used. AVI is merely a 'container' to hold video and audio.

It's ridiculous how Funimation has gone to such great lengths to provide us with "uncut" DBZ and then to go ahead and release this. I don't want to call it censorship but this isn't anywhere close to uncut.

Alright, nobody has mentioned it yet, but what the crap is with the American-style names? "Son-kun" gets translated to "Goku", all Japanese titles are removed (e.g. san, sama, chan, kun) which removes a bit of the context in which the characters are speaking, and I've noticed a ...

This would have been more relevant in the late 90s, when we had the Ocean Studios dub. The ignorant ones were those who refused to acknowledge any aspect of that dub and only look at the negative sides. People would go on unending rants acting as if someone was holding a gun to their head forcing th...

Vegetto is the official, accepted name. The only people that would use Vegerot is Viz media and a handful of Wikipedians.

You're right, I forgot about that. So the movies I suppose will end up similar to how they were shown theatrically, but the series is another thing.

I know it's been said before, but getting more picture on the side isn't a fair tradeoff for losing picture on the top and bottom. Aren't characters are generally centered on the screen? It would mean losing part of them in exchange for getting a little more of the backgrounds on the sides. See the ...

So is the stuff that's cropped off from the top and bottom some footage that we actually saw on Funimation's previous releases? Or was it only seen in the Dragon Boxes?

I guess what I'm trying to get at whether we're missing footage that we have or haven't seen before in R1 releases.

Now does this only affect a 16:9 CRT TV, or any 16:9 screen?

Amiable-Akuma, I think you should repost all that to the Funimation forums, to reach even more people, not to mention some of the reps at Funimation. Well said.
