Re: What's the difference between the DVD's & the Blue-Rays ?
You are wrong about the Kai Blu-Rays having the best picture quality of any DB release because the Dragon Ball Super Blu-Rays look much much better than Kai's. I think it's pretty obvious that he means the best picture quality of the original footage. Super is a different subject entirely. Super is...

Re: DB Character Lookalikes
Oh good grief the modern Tina Armstrong (DOA5 i'm guessing?) looks so bad to me. She looks way less like Android 18 now and her boobs.. did she have a major reduction since DOA Dementions or something?

To you, yes. To everybody in general, no. Big difference there.Jinzoningen MULE wrote:but everyone's inexperience is still not only visible, but sticks out like a sore thumb.dragonballgeek wrote:It wasn't until everyone started watching other animes that they developed this opinion of Faulconer dub being lame.

Re: What's the difference between the DVD's & the Blue-Rays ?
You should definitely get the Blu-Rays. Kai was, after all, intended partly to be a version of DBZ in true HD. I own some of the Dragon Boxes but I can still say that the Kai Blu-Rays have the best picture quality of any DB release thus far. You are wrong about the Kai Blu-Rays having the best pict...

Re: Is Dragon Ball Z Kai any good?
If they intended it for non-Japanese...why would they record the dialogue in Japanese, then? Most companies nowadays do bilingual home releases, with the regional language as the default and the option to switch to Japanese and watch with subtitles The international companies that requested the cre...

Re: Dragonball on CRT
Interesting but I think a modern screen would be better for anything post SD. But I'm interested in the fact there's a CRT that can do more than 1080P. Also yes, CRT's have more benefits than just no lag; I should bring them up next time I'm asked why I have one. For SD Dragonball watching, my ulti...

Re: Are the characters just memes/tropes at this point?
Like nowadays when you think of the Dragonball cast, such as Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, Future Trunks, Yamcha etc....they all feel like memes and tropes now. I blame internet culture for this, but I can't think of the characters anymore without certain memes and tropes coming to mind. I...

Re: What is "EX" referencing in Dragon Ball Fandom?
Wow I find that quite interesting that Mike's EX was a Street Fighter EX reference, especially because of how relatively forgotten the game is nowadays. My EX came from my favorite game when I was 16 years old which was "Deus EX" so I kind of get a kick out of that. Thanks for the great re...

What is "EX" referencing in Dragon Ball Fandom?
Since back in the late 90's when I was 16 years years old I created the online screen name for myself to use on the internet "ZodaEX" This screen name has nothing to do with Dragon Ball and is a reference to something else. I was super late getting into the Dragon Ball anime, for some reas...

How do you know that Goku and Chichi kissed? What is your source? Or are you just making stuff up?

Re: Is it time GT gets recognized as an alternate timeline rather than just "not canon?"
There is a huge issue now regarding GT fans. It's not about an alternate timeline anymore because Super established its own alternate timelines. Super came out and said that there were alternate timelines. So now the issue isn't whether GT is an alternate timeline to us fans, but rather if GT happe...

Re: *sigh* Can someone just like...give me their Dragon Boxe
In my city there is a small comic shop that sells anime and a few years back I seen the whole Dragon box collection the yellow brick set for 500 flat and I was like FUCK I need money and have no job. now I have a job and money and that set is long gone... so I had to get the new blu ray set cropped...

Re: Best Technology For Dragonbox And Level Sets?
Sorry for necro posting, but I managed to find my perfect setup. A few days ago I bought a CRT with hardly any use which means it still has incredible color and sharpness. After hooking up the PS3 via component and tinkering with the picture settings I managed to get pretty good deep, bright color ...

What "false 4/3" are you speaking of? There are so many but i've never hears of such a thing. Could be referring to Pan and Scan. But it was some of the 16/9 formatted releases that were pan and scanned and or matted, not the 4/3 releases. I asked specifically about the 4/3 DVD releases.

Re: Best North American releases of all portions of the seri
Don't listen to the advice about the green bricks though. It's the inferior version unless you are hell bent on watching the English dub with the Japanese soundtrack. To be fair, would you rather track down a bunch of DVD singles for a subpar T.V show or pay for all 64 episodes plus a special for 2...

Re: Best North American releases of all portions of the seri
Hello, and welcome to the forum/  Anyway, for Dragon Ball the blue bricks and Saga Sets are basically of the same quality, but the saga sets are sightly better with Japanese titles (which personally I don't care about but hey some do) and the blue bricks are sightly more zoomed in. For GT, ju...

Re: How would you feel if Funimation only used dubnames as s
I really wish they would just give us the best of both world being subtitles for the Japanese version IN ADDITION to dubtitles like the GT singles have. Depending on the company i'm currently with sometimes I watch the English dub and othertimes I watch the Japanese version, however I don't have ver...

what's the point in drawing, colorized and animated thing in 4/3 if it is only meant to be seen in 16/9? it is not a human movie, they can have drawn the black screen on cels like on the false 4/3 dvd that had black bar encoded on the screen i think it was mean to be seen in theater in 16/9 but dra...

Re: Anybody know anything about the Filipino English dub?
Those speedy VCDs are ocean dub bootlegs, AFAIK Speedy only dubbed the first 3 DB films and the first 13 DBZ films. The Saban dub skipped the Gohan and the robot episode.
