Re: Quick Question

Uncut? Nowhere outside of the orange bricks. But if you're looking to own the entire run of Funimation singles for the nostalgia factor, the Saiyan Conflict and Namek Saga boxes are probably more in line with that experience. All of the episode numbers listed on Funimation's singles go off of the ed...

Re: Dragon Ball/Z/GT/Kai Saga Survivor Game Round 5!

Evil Dragons and Pilaf arcs going out this early are just messed up, you guys. Do they just not compare to the gripping action of the 25th Tenkaichi Tournament, or what?

Re: Dragon Ball Movie 1 Dvd Dissection/Discussion

I know I wasn't present for this discussion originally, but I'd like to point out that the aliasing problem also occurs on the second GT ending on the green bricks. It's only that ending, and it's really bizarre. Anyone have a theory on why this happens?

Re: Anime Vs Manga: What's up with the Dragon Ball GT hate?

(And to say that there are no artistic or other qualities within shallow ol' DB is doing it a disservice. No, it's not Shakespeare, but it's not complete drivel, either.) Well, I obviously wouldn't be on this website if I didn't agree. It was just hyperbole. And yeah, I see what you're saying. I gu...

Re: Anime Vs Manga: What's up with the Dragon Ball GT hate?

If you don't want to think about it and put any effort into comparing it with things, chances are you're also not going to come talk about it on a message board. If something is just a casual, "Oh hey, I watched this thing!"... I'm just not going to bother talking about it with anyone. We...

Re: Anime Vs Manga: What's up with the Dragon Ball GT hate?

- At the end of GT everybody else is just so weak and useless and incapable of defending the earth that Goku decides to become some immortal god. Not really a satisfying ending.. It's funny in a bad way when you consider how the Cell arc ended. GT 's ending is actually exactly in line with the way ...

Re: Anime Vs Manga: What's up with the Dragon Ball GT hate?

It won't stop sucking Goku's dick. Not really true until the first twenty-two episodes are over but, yeah. Then it's really true. Still, I like GT for a lot of reasons, some of the same ones people hate it for. I like the fact that the characters have grown old and taken jobs and dropped out of eac...

Favorite Tokunaga Tracks

I'm sure these threads have been done before, but I haven't seen one recently. Anyway, if I recall correctly, the last words about Tokunaga's GT score spoken on the Daizex podcast called it nice, but "difficult to remember specific melodies outside of the main theme variations." I'm sure t...

Re: Best theme for Son Gohan?

"Son Gohan and Piccolo Daimao" is one of my favorite tracks in all three series. I don't think any character theme comes close to encapsulating an interaction as well as that. You can even hear what parts of the music are supposed to represent Gohan, and which are distinctly Piccolo. It's ...

Re: So, How Exactly is Kai Remastered?

If I remember correctly, the book that came with the first Blu-ray set in Japan detailed a bit about the remastering process. I know some scans made their way here to the forum, so if anyone wants to dig those up, that'd be helpful, I'm sure. That'd be pretty cool, actually. But no one even has a b...

So, How Exactly is Kai Remastered?

Maybe it's a stupid question, but I've actually never seen a clear answer on here. What's the remastering process for Kai ? It's hands down the best the Z footage has ever looked. There's absolutely no grain, and as far as I can tell, no loss of detail. The colors also seem to be tweaked individuall...

Re: DragonBall/GT Season Sets vs U.S Dragon Box.

I don't think grain is a good thing, exactly, it just looks better with a certain amount of grain, it adds detail. Grain doesn't add detail. It's just difficult to remove it from footage without losing some. The Dragon Boxes keep the grain to a minimum without resorting to DVNR. That's fine. The am...

Dear god. Is that Krillin in-between ... real? Does anyone have a clip of that scene in motion?

Re: DragonBall/GT Season Sets vs U.S Dragon Box.

The Dragon Box is the winner. Now, that said, some members of this board seem to have taken the bizarre stance since the orange brick fiasco that grain is a positive thing. It's not. It's intrusive, distracting, and was not intended to be part of the image. That said, there's no reasonable way to re...

Re: Are the Season Sets 4-9 better than the first 3?

The later sets look better than the first few, but still nowhere near as good as the blue bricks, green bricks and double-features. I think the GT sets look like shit. The last few season sets are more or less on par with the double features. The blue bricks don't look all that great either. All it...

Re: FUNimation and Toei announce online streaming of DBZ!

... I'm really starting to have a thing for the Gohan filler, the episode with the robot( "Farewell, Mr. Robot-sir" ) and when Gohan decides to find his mother( "To Get Away from Piccolo, Gohan Calls Forth a Storm!" ) in particular. The scene where he takes off the island on tha...

Does this explain their removal from the season sets then?

Re: Why two different Next Episode Previews?

Not only that, but the music is different. Quite possibly because it was a replacement on part of the Chinese dub. I remember seeing a Japanese episode having the same exact preview as the Cantonese one you posted. I never even seen the Singles one. Wow :/. Then again, I suppose it could have aired...
