Re: Are the characters younger in DBS Broly?
I did the math. For the record at no point in the series is the year ever mentioned. I'm going strictly off what was stated in the manga and the anime material Toriyama wrote himself. Not fan speculation. Future Trunks, referring to the year Cell came from: " Age 788... three years further in ...

Re: Vic Mignogna
Welp. It's gonna be a little weird seeing the dubbed version of DBS: Broli this weekend. I've heard stuff of this ilk about Mignogna on and off for years. Even if you do take him at his word that kissing fans is a "no different from family members"-type deal for him... dude. 15-year-old st...

Re: Are the characters younger in DBS Broly?
But Bulma being 38 actually adds up. No it doesn't. Bulma is 16 at the start of the series in Age 749. Battle of Gods takes place in Age 778. You do the math. I think what throws everyone off is the half hour special from 2009. That took place two years after they defeated Buu. It was streamed worl...

Re: "Dragon Ball FighterZ" Official Discussion Thread
This also means we can finally have a team of 3 women in FighterZ...and two of them are assisted by men. Caulifla/Kefla can't be announced soon enough. This kind of thinking is so asinine I really wonder if you're just trolling here. Why? Personally I think it's a fair point. Of course, we all know...

Re: "Dragon Ball FighterZ" Official Discussion Thread
Woo-hoo! Video was on my wish list (the over-abundance of sausage needed addressing). Gogeta and NuBroli weren't, as they're basically palette swaps for characters that are already in the game... but they were kind of inevitable so meh. I'm sure they'll still be fun. Jiren is again another super-exp...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
As far as I'm concerned the manga isn't contradicted and all is right with the world. In my headcanon Freeza's scouter picks up Bardock's power spike as he prepares his blast and zooms in on the source, hence how Freeza remembers his face so clearly. Having your own explanation does not take away a...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
Saw the sub last night (I assume everyone else who did so went to a Cineworld showing too?). My friend had to bail as his girlfriend was in a car accident and right before the movie I had to take my flatmate home as she ate a little too much "special" cake and passed out so ended up seeing...

Gonna echo vol. 16, specifically the Viz version which covers the entire Goku vs. Piccolo fight. Best choreography, most dynamic artwork, best goddamn fight that's ever been fabricated with a pen.

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
Just diving in here without looking as I'm hoping someone could answer a quick question for me. (Seeing the movie theatrically next week so I'm avoiding this thread or any other discussions until then so that I can remain a pure unspoiled little Broli virgin.) Is the Bardock flashback in the manga c...

Re: Dai Kaioshin VA paased away
R.I.P. 88 years on this Earth is a big bucket of win.
(Pretty spooky that this happens at the same time the Super manga starts a plot revolving around Dai-Kaioshin, a character whom nobody has ever given a second thought to before now... did Toyotaro know something we don't? )

Re: What did Stan Lee think about Dragon Ball?
I've seen a lot of weird questions on this board, but "Did Stan Lee ever mention Masako Nozawa in an interview?" might have to take the biscuit. No, there's no readily-available indication that he was aware of Dragon Ball, but I'm sure he would have at least heard of it in passing somewhere.

Try out a hobby. Learn a trade. Make friends in an MMORPG/local leisure centre. Read a book. Smoke some weed. Go outside. I used to be in the same boat, man. This place was the ultimate escape for me when I first joined. I'm sure everyone was sick of hyperactive 12-year-old me back in the day. I'm n...

Re: Why don't we get any Halloween episodes in Dragon Ball?
Do they even celebrate our holidays in the Dragon World? We've never had a Christmas episode, or April Fool's Day, or Burns Night... it's an odd thing to ask of Dragon Ball IMO. I would find it jarring.

Re: So Son Goku was actually sent from Planet Vegeta as a kid, not as a baby?
It's not about overwriting the expanded universe, it's things like Greedo shooting first and Hayden Christensen inserted into Return of the Jedi. Nothing to do with my point. Besides, Toriyama hasn't done anything like that . The closest he's come is rewriting the ending slightly for the kanzenban,...

Re: So Son Goku was actually sent from Planet Vegeta as a kid, not as a baby?
You have to think of it from Toriyama's perspective. He hasn't "changed" or "rewritten" anything. For all we know, he always intended for Goku to be this age and the anime peeps interpreted it differently. See also: the depiction of Hell in Resurrection 'F' vs. the rest of the an...

Re: Why are they retconning the original Bardock special? Now it's no longer canon?
Now that The Bardock Special isnt cannon, that means episode of Bardock isn't cannon either, which is amazing cause Bardock being The First Super Saiyan is Dumb and still is dumb. If I have to lose Red Bandana Bardock to get rid of that, I´m all for it. I'll do you one better: if Bardock's stand ag...

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
Still, the comparison isn't a million miles away. DBZA has now been running longer than the original broadcast of DB and DBZ ! That's mind-blowing. But this is all done by fans who don't profit from the episodes and whose schedules have no doubt become increasingly difficult to co-ordinate over tim...

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
Sorry for the misconception. I'm patiently waiting like the rest of you. Luckily, we won't have to wait too much longer, since Kaiser said in last Friday's Stream Four Star Twitch stream that he's editing together Part 3 right now. We're so close to finally getting the final episode of Season 3, gu...
