Re: History of Sonic and Dragon Ball Z
Sounds like the video creator confused manga/anime Bulma with Dragon Ball Evolution Bulma. Eh, maybe but I don't remember much about her character in Evolution (for the best, I hope) Anyway, I kept watching the video for a few more minutes. Apparently Tenshinhan is a ninja, just like Espio. Huh, th...

Re: History of Sonic and Dragon Ball Z
https://youtu.be/rcxjpnvMC2Y Watch this video. Rouge is smart, Bulma is smart. Lol, the video lists their similarities as "Treasure Hunter", gadgets & weapons, and that they're both with the main rival. So, for starters, Bulma isn't a treasure hunter. She's not collecting the Dragon B...

Re: History of Sonic and Dragon Ball Z
Seriously, what's wrong with it. They don't have any real history together. Sure, Sonic games have occasionally been inspired by Dragon Ball, but it ends there. Everything else you mentioned is their based on coincidence or tropes. And some parallels you mentioned make little to no sense. Rouge the...

I agree, the original score is just way betterBroly深蓝 wrote:It is good on its own but it doesn’t pace well with the anime for me, but perhaps it does for the dub which it was intended for.

Re: Bruce Faulconer returning to compose the score for DBS?
He's probably talking about how the background music never stops, which is especially annoying in scenes that are trying to build tension. It just ruins the whole scene.Young-Jah wrote:How, he's not a bad guy.

No, doubt he'll return to the series at this point
Geekdom101 made a video about Bruce Faulconer and his ties with Funimation a while back. Should be able to get a better answer from it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlLI02pvQIU

Re: Should they stop making English version of the songs for the international audience?
Hinorobu Kageyama's English songs sound pretty clear to me, I've never needed lyrics to know what he's saying. By "Broken English", I really just mean that they're not grammatically correct.

Re: Should they stop making English version of the songs for the international audience?
I like having the English versions done by the original singers (though, yeah, Engrish is probably the better name lol). Sure, they're in really broken English, but that gives them some charm. Plus I also think that it allows them to keep the song's original tone, which isn't done well by different ...

Re: Lack of females characters in Dragon Ball
Just wanna point out that a bunch of characters in the male lists barely even count as real characters. What I mean is that a bunch of those are just generic henchmen or soliders. Some of these (like, say, Appule) don't really have any impact on the main story. I think that while there aren't a lot ...

Looked them up on ebay out of curiosity. They're listed at ~$25-30 (with shipping). Eh, not too bad considering they're imports.eledoremassis02 wrote:I think they're out of print now, but shipping to US was about 12 per volume.

Re: Best VIZ release of the Manga?
I have the full set and they're awesome! only downside it I wish they were hard cover like the delux Akira set but the price per volume was a steal! one downside is they used the newer ending and Gohans age is the tankobon revised and sometimes the extra coloring is not 100% accurate to the origina...

Re: Best VIZ release of the Manga?
So, today I finally learned about the Dragon Ball Digest Edition release (aka the Soshuhen release). These are pretty much the original chapters as they appeared in the series' original Weekly Shonen Jump run. There's even a page about them in the main site: http://www.kanzenshuu.com/manga/digest/ H...

Really hope we get an updated Dragon Box release (on Blu-ray). The DVDs are ridiculously expensive on the secondary market, and they're only in standard definition.

I don't think this was meant to be taken seriously, from what I remember it comes from a joke where it's pointed out that they've had similar hairstylesruler9871 wrote:- Yamcha is Gohan's real dad.

Re: Does Sean Schemmel smoke?
My guess is that his voice has just been changing over the years as he's gotten older (after all, it's been like 20 years since he started). And I guess all the screaming and shouting that he does for Goku hasn't been too kind to his throat.

Re: Goku and Chichi is the worst couple of the franchise?
I always felt like their relationship does work (though just barely). We don't really see them together very often in the manga, but in the few moments they do have there, they seem to get along just fine and look like an ordinary family. First thing that comes to mind is chapter 392 where while wai...

Re: "Dragon Ball FighterZ" Official Discussion Thread
I wouldn't mind having Raditz in the game, but I can't see him being in it. Part of FighterZ's appeal (at least to me) is seeing moves from the manga/anime being faithfully recreated. Other Dragon Ball games have done it, but none quite like FighterZ with its stunning visuals. It's so exciting to se...
