We can't base the idea of him being some alternate Goten from him wearing sleeves. He does resemble Goten, but so does everyone else with Bardock's hairstyle. Plus, it doesn't explain why Black is wearing Kaioshin-like footwear and has on a Kaioshin earring. Quite frankly, if by any chance I'm wrong...

I mean, he was created as a living embodiment of tragedy.

Why would he take the apperance of Goku or create a being similar to Goku? Something must have happened to Future Goku in the afterlife. He was most likely corrupted and manipulated in some way, he also refers to Trunks as "Saiyan", that was indeed strange to hear. Maybe "Black"...
