Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

I'm hoping that if this does well they will MAYBE put out new blu rays steelbooks for the movies at least. Even better OG db.

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

After having sold my 30th set for the Dragon Boxes, I think I might get these purely because I like the packaging.

Does anyone have 30th set comparisons of shots after the Saiyan arc?

Re: Comparison shots from every single DBZ release

Can anyone post a frame compare of the 30th vs the Dragon Box around the Cell and Buu arcs. Someone on the Blu-ray.com forum is spreading nonsense and needs to be shut down. Stating that compared to the DBox "the 30th is without question the superior release". I can't for the life of me ta...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

I've heard of many instances of Blu-Ray actually making films look worse by washing out all the grain and making characters look very "waxy"(Terminator and the first BR release of Patton were particularly notorious for looking very artificial in that regard) so for that and other reasons(...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

I don't really see the appeal of 4K frankly, my good old HDTV works just fine for me. You can apply the same logic to any new format...its not something you need..it's just better. The difference can be negligible to mind blowing depending on the particular movie/content you are watching. I guess t...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Eh. I think Blu ray should be the bare minimum these days..hell, outside of anime Blu rays, I exclusively only buy 4K discs these days. The only DVDs I actively watch/own are DB related (ex. Dragon Boxes).

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

This set definitely got more hate than it deserved IMO. It's not perfect but it's good enough, looks better than the Dragon Boxes since it has better colors and on a big TV, the Dragon Boxes are pretty ugly.. Stop repeating this silly statement over and over. They do not look better than the dragon...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

I watched all episodes up to number 199, and I can say that it's most of the time the best official release to watch DBZ on a 4k TV. It's not perfect (except for some episodes that looks beautiful, and these episodes in general have dust, does that means that they weren't "clenead" like o...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

My question is : why is it happens only on few episodes ? I don't wanna say you are lying (maybe you just done know what to look for), but I also owned it for a couple weeks before I sold it and spot checked various episodes from different arcs. Every episode looks pretty bad. Maybe some worse than...

Re: Bootleg topic! Real vs fake

Idk what it is but the DB and GT singles have inconsistent wording on the inner ring...but I put them all in my pc and the VSO app shows them all to be legit and produced around 2004..so I have no idea.

Re: Level 1.1 back...in stock?

I'm not a collector. I don't really get collecting if you don't get use from it, and it just seems odd to me to value an upgraded picture of 17 episodes. I mean the level sets are the best way picture wise to watch those episodes. It's not hard to just switch to another release when those episodes ...

Re: Dragon Ball/Z/GT home releases moving forward

I think they can safely ignore it. You overestimate how many people even know what broadcast audio is, much less care as to its inclusion on a home release. We can't even get FUNi to treat the picture right..you think the JP audio is of any concern to them? Even if they WANTED to include such audio ...

Re: Best/Your Preferred Dragon Ball Releases (DVD, Blu-Ray.etc)

DB - US Saga sets..Blue brick for first arc unfortunately.
Z- Level sets/FUNi DBoxes
GT - US Singles

Movies/Specials - Toei streaming remasters on portable storage.

Heavy emphasis on the subbed experience obviously.

Re: Bootleg topic! Real vs fake

I'm seeing a lots of Dragon Ball singles (mostly Commander Red-Tenshinhan) Brand new with sellers selling 4 or more copies. Has there been any confirmation of bootleg singles in correct packaging *not the King Piccolo part 4 type sets*? I recently bought the Dragon Ball (and GT) singles and was won...

Annoyingly I have both boxsets but they use THE SAME ARTWORK for some insane reason.
There are 4 of them...right? I have them haha. Maybe you are confusing the single boxes with the green bricks?

Re: SSG or SSJ4

SSJ4 has a much more creative and “cool” look to it, but I have come to like the simplicity and the elegance of SSJG. I suppose I would say that I personally like SSJ4 better, but SSJG is much more of a Toriyama thing. I feel like its a modern Toriyama thing. I don't see 90's Toriyama creating SSG ...

Re: What kind of merchandises do you like buying?

Videogames, only the good one though :). There's nothing else that interest me, years ago I'd have bough the home releases but since streaming has become a thing I have little reasons to get them right now. Doesn't the FUNimation stream use Orange Brick footage for Z? Seems like a great reason to n...
