Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
Yup, it fits Dragon Ball perfectly. King Kai's planet was shrunk over a game of hide-and-seek. The first wish ever made on the items the series was named after was a pair of panties. Dragon Ball is childish. It's made for children.

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
So that lanky Saiyan from the trailer is apparently called Beets. We can see now that he wasn't actually wearing Sadala-era armor, and I like that his face and anatomy design clearly communicate how irrelevant he's doing to be. Not that I really expected much else from the hairstyle™ but you know.

You're one of those people who think everything is relative, smh. Just because omsething is "objective" does not mean it is accurate, correct ETC. It's just you are just looking at the facts and using un-bias analysis to reach a conclusion. So...aside from the condescension, misrepresenti...

Re: Why are they retconning the original Bardock special? Now it's no longer canon?
The problem does not ariase at how "legitmate" those issues are (though if they are so big, why are you even a fan of the show in the first place? If you hate everything or most things about Z gt etc... then it shows you aren't a fan of those products), So even ignoring the fact that you ...

Re: Why are they retconning the original Bardock special? Now it's no longer canon?
Alright bud, relax. I didn't say he isn't a true fan, I jsut questioned if he was a fan of the frnachise or just a fan of super. There are dragon ball fans, Z fans, gt fans, toyotar/super manga fans, and super anime fans. People who are just fans of those prospective poroterty and couldn't really c...

Re: Why are they retconning the original Bardock special? Now it's no longer canon?
All art is worthy and capable of being criticism and Dragon Ball is no different. Saying that anyone who doesn't like something you do "isn't a true fan" is a completely shallow and childish thing to do. The movies have problems. A lot of them share the exact same problems. Super and GT in...

Re: What happened to Stephanie Nadolny? (Gohan voice actor)
Hey uh guys? If I've communicated it poorly I'm sorry, but I'll decide what I mean by something, thanks. Look, I really don't mind Nadolny's Goku at all. I even think she was genuinely okay when she was actually in OK KO. But her Gohan is raspy and poorly-performed and bad. I think whoever was casti...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
Given how mini Goku has been aged slightly for the film, changing Vegeta's chronological (not physical mind you, time chamber and such) age from ~48 to ~41 isn't too huge a leap.

Re: What happened to Stephanie Nadolny? (Gohan voice actor)
Well first off her Gohan was terrible, only her kid Goku was vaguely acceptable.
Second, I seem to recall something about her getting multiple DUIs, and I'm pretty that's part of the reason Courtney Taylor replaced her for the most part on OK KO, so it could be that.

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
Well, Paragus and Broly both being stranded is kind of new, and while we were pretty sure Freeza was looking for Dragon Balls I don't think we had heard anything immediate about the number they'd collected (or where they'd got them from). It does make that shot in the first trailer of the ball falli...

Re: Overall Would You Say The Dragonball Fandom Is Positive Or Negative Compared To Other Fandoms?
Funny that 8000 saiyan brings up Sonic, I think Dragon Ball on many levels has the exact same issues as the Sonic fandom, but for different reasons. The core issue with both of these is that they're perceived as completely different in terms of tone and direction depending on who you ask, because di...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
Actually the problem is whether they make a good film or not. Whether you have an arbitrary repitition of events that don't actually matter is irrelevant to whether a character and story are written and paced properly. To be fair, Minus was also very short and the movie could just expand Minus to gi...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
It's more like Bardock has a lot more to him than simply dying for nothing, and saying that's the only thing that "defines" him diminishes the work that the rest of the special put into establishing his personality, and it'd be outright insulting to just shove it into Minus's story like th...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
Everything we've seen of the Broly film is already better-looking than any current or previous arcs. I can't honestly say any previous saga has better animation because it was constantly spread so thin across so many episodes that I remember people more than actual looks of each arc. And in that reg...

That's a transformation though. He buffed himself up and that's what destroyed the armor, no? So we haven't seen what he looks like under that armor without doing that. Or the shoulder things he has is more like a growing exoskeleton he doesn't have earlier on.

Re: DB vs. DBZ vs. DBGT vs. DBS vs. SDBH: What are the strengths and weaknesses of each series. And which is the best I'm
Dragon Ball: Strengths: Has the most charm, the best arcs, some of the more consistent art quality, and doesn't rely on anything previous (because, well, such things don't exist) Weaknesses: while having better art on average than Z, the actual movement is mostly static and the direction often is j...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
That's not how language works. They're two different sentences. I have a problem with people posting youtube videos as if they're authoritative sources. I find dragonball youtubers to be some of the most ill-sourced, ill-informed and overall low-quality content creators out there (barring some exce...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
That's an awfully minor thing to base such an absolutist opinion on. So what, he pointed out that the abridged series expanded on things like the Androids origins and Krillin's relationship with 18 to an extent, which they did. How does that make his opinion invalid? Or better yet, why does anything...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
I think either approach looks fine and believing they should either stick with the anime colors or move toward the manga colors is an acceptable idea. But this is the same as the Trunks hair situation. They're only changing this now with no real reason to do so, and it's not consistent with the rest...

In fairness, that's more of a thing villains go through in hell. It seems like good people get to stay in heaven. That wouldn't apply to Bardock anyway, though.
