Crummy but serviceable shot of Dragon Ball Super's Volume 3 cover art:
I would have preferred something featuring Black and Zamasu, but I'll take it. Looks good.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 86
You're totally entitled to that opinion, but I do wanna take this opportunity to reiterate that this is 100% an intentional style, and absolutely not accidental. I appreciate you weren't necessarily implying that, so please take this rather lengthy post as a general topic, rather than a direct resp...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 86
I know I'm late to this train, but felt the need to put my 1¢ (after currency conversion from Zeni) in after watching this week's episode.... Very split on this one. On one hand, I loved - loved - the storyboarding and the ambience. Perhaps the "prettiest" episode of Dragon Ball that there...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" FUNimation English Dub Official Announcement and Discussion Thread
Bummer about Kid Trunks & the Narrator - would have been awesome to hear Kyle Hebert deliver his iconic "Next time on Dragon Ball" again (though I suppose they'll have Goku read that part again, like in Kai). Really, really psyched about the clips, though. Sean Schemmel is at the top o...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 64
Once again fairly disappointed in a Tate episode. Looks like I just need to accept that I do not like Tate's style of animation and move past it. Last week's episode was far better animated - and more on model - than this one, imho. Content wise, what a fantastic episode. Two epic ki struggles, more...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 64
Wow, typically I'm on the same page as the rest of you in regards to quality of an episode, but I couldn't disagree more here. Thought this was a fine looking episode, with the one notable exception being Goku & Vegeta VS Goku Black's "clones."
Nothing else bothered me.

I too have great distaste for Tate's fluid animation in the context of Dragon Ball, but for you Ajay, I won't rehash my old thoughts on the matter. Looking forward to your feedback!

Here you go - let me know if you meant a different shot:Anime Kitten wrote:Well, I asked two pages ago, so here'd be a good time to again. Could I please get the shot of Black when he grabs Vegeta's fist? Black's mouth is hiding behind the fist, for clarity.

Everything other than the RoF arc has been great-to-fantastic. A worthy successor to DBZ, especially the current Future Trunks material.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #57]
What we historically have always been getting from the (anime) franchise were OK-Average animation, why can´t we expect better with the likes of Tate and Shida? You misunderstood my point. It's not about the quality of the animation, it's about the way it's animated. Loose vs. rigid, blurs vs. clar...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #57]
Haha so now people are downgrading Tate's great work just because Shida is also really good? Man, I'm getting old for forums, I guess. This is too much. I'm not "downgrading" Tate's work. Tate's work is technically fantastic. I've just never been a fan of Tate's work in the context of con...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #57]
Even shida didn't use loose animation to make goku spin. Higashide, Shida and the guys who worked in trunks special, all of them reinforces the idea that loose animation doesn't fit in dragon ball, that thing tate did in frieza fight was completely out of place I completely agree. It has to do with...

Re: Which version of Super is the more official
Again, it's all head cannon, but what I've personally been doing is this: Take the manga. Take the anime. Compare them and the events that happen nearly identically in both are very likely directly lifted from Akira Toriyama's outline. That's the purest DBS canon you can possibly get. It leaves some...

Seems likely that Funimation will be formally announcing Dragon Ball Super at their SDCC panel tonight. Either way, couldn't be more excited that it's coming!
