Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

Super Saiyan Rose Goku Black didn't give Vegeta much trouble by the end so would Gohan and Kefla be stronger than him?

Re: Is Dragon Ball creatively bankrupt at this point?

Better that than having a one-note villain with a generic personality and design. But not better than having a new original interesting character with a good personality and design, something they can no longer do. I mean, you said that Super did not do anything creative because it just added some ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

How strong are is Ultimate Gohan and Kefla in the manga compared to say Super Saiyan God Goku and Vegeta? Or Super Saiyan Rose Goku Black?

Are they God level?

Re: Is Dragon Ball creatively bankrupt at this point?

It is not creative according to whom? Anyone with standards. Also why are you saying that those characters introduced in Z are shallow? I thought you were trying to prove that Z is much more creative than Super? Those two things don't correlate. No, I am highlighting Z's problems to prove your doub...

That's pretty good. What did the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm games sell in the end? I know it over 2 million once upon a time.

Nobody wants that travesty to ever be tied to Dragon Ball. It was so bad it made GT look good.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

So Goku shows up to save the day by knocking out some fodder, who'd been giving his allies trouble, with one shot...like with Recoome.

And this is why the thread about the series being creatively bankrupt was made.

He's stopping time for everyone but himself. That's how he's able to attack within that time. It's just skipping time from other peoples perspective.

Re: Is Dragon Ball creatively bankrupt at this point?

Aside from the fact that half-assing movies is a serious thing, you're again missing the point that bringing back a new character and developing them a lot can be just as good as creating a new character in the first place, if not even better. Yet is not creative which is what this thread is about....

Re: Is Dragon Ball creatively bankrupt at this point?

Also how can you criticize Hit having a similar ability to Guldo, but otherwise is a completely different character, but say that the Z movie villains are original? We literally got Frieza 2.0, Cell 2.0, and Buu 2.0 in those movies. Well they are different characters. Hit is a different character, ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

If Super Saiyan Blue is just supposed to be Super Saiyan + Super Saiyan God. Then why is Super Saiyan Blue portrayed as being so significantly more powerful when Super Saiyan should be worthless alone.

Re: Did The BOG & ROF Films *Need* To Be Remade As Arcs For DBS?

They should have divided the two actual movies up into 20 minutes arc, could have been 5 episodes each. Then the Universe 6 arc wouldn't have looked so awful.

Re: Is Dragon Ball creatively bankrupt at this point?

What do you mean? We got Beerus, Hit, Zamasu and Moro who are all quite original (two of them aren't villains per se, but they were antagonists), and also aren't some off-shot of a pre-existing character. Beerus was fine but the others aren't that original. Hits ability to stop time is just what Gu...

Melee_Sovereign wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2020 2:42 pmI don't necessarily see that as a good thing. I rather them just reuse an established character than give us a carbon copy.
And that line of thinking is why they don't try anymore.

Re: Is Dragon Ball creatively bankrupt at this point?

Not really, more breaking down how you are contradictory. You're just waffling. Missing the overall point to break down everything into weak bite sized counter points. In that case, they were still bringing back villains that had been created originally for the movies. Even though they brought Cool...

Re: Is Dragon Ball creatively bankrupt at this point?

Lol so even the extremely lazy idea of just bringing back old popular characters wasn't even his own idea.

Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, reduced to just going along with the terrible and lazy ideas given to him by someone else even though he can't even remember who they're referring to.

Re: Is Dragon Ball creatively bankrupt at this point?

And every other Z movie villain besides Broly, was basically some copy of a pre-existing canon villain. Not all of them but somewhat. But at least they bothered to make new characters, even if it was some movie version of a canon villain, it was still a new character anyway. They at least bothered ...

But that's what you said It wasn't, but we'll move on from that seeing as you feel the need to break every word of my post down into separate points. Bringing Z down again. Oh, it's only fair to bring Super down? Not really, when several of those movies were about bringing back popular movie villai...

Re: Is Dragon Ball creatively bankrupt at this point?

[quoteFor instance, DB and Super Sentai have lots of martial arts but I wouldn't consider them to fundamentally be in the same genre as Super Sentai is a superhero show, whereas DB is not. And neither is One Piece. Whether it's Pirates, Ninjas, Wizards or Soul Reapers is irrelevant. They all have a...

Re: Is Dragon Ball creatively bankrupt at this point?

Yes, you did No, you're quote of what I said is not me saying that I only cared about the ground it covered. Okay then. Z was not creative either. That's nice to know. I guess Dragon Ball didn't become "creatively bankrupt" during Super then. Bringing Z down again. Z had original movie vi...
