Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 101 - Official Discussion Thread

Y'know thinking of it, considering how slow Toyotaro's arcs are this will last for a while, and we'll probably still have the Super manga being published alongside Daima... Which is kind of a funny situation for two different DB brands to be active at the same time.

Re: Iyoku's plan expand and keep Dragon Ball popular until 2034.

True. Altho then we got cases like Sapkowski vs CDProject Witcher drama where he first crapped all over video games in general, considered the whole thing a joke and when the Witcher games became a massive hit, propelling the books and his name onto the worldwide stage as well, he started demanding...

Re: Iyoku's plan expand and keep Dragon Ball popular until 2034.

It's still nothing compared to some of the western IPs, or when the estates enter the picture :P how many decades Mattel been fighting with the OG author for He-man lol? Marvel is constantly bickering over the rights for Iron-Man, Black Widow, Spider-Man and others with the respective estat...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions

You know something I was wondering these days by seeing this title page from the original manga. Did Goku really trained with Gohan and Piccolo as a SSJ? I mean it made sense for him in anime filler do to so in Base since that would even things out a bit, but as a SSJ is a strech and that could eve...

Re: Iyoku's plan expand and keep Dragon Ball popular until 2034.

Had no idea DB has right issues this messy... Wonder if Shueisha having so many rights related to the IP is why stuff from the manga don't show up in games like even in DB Heroes, like maybe Shueisha thinking transformations will make more money if they show up in the anime after the manga, or maybe...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions

I don't know how that happened but I was quoting lukmendes Basaku got it right, it's just how I call DB before Z by using that gaming term. Moro arc was mostly Toyo with Toriyama's supervision/corrections/revisions. For Granolah though, Toriyama wrote the main general plot outline like with previou...

Re: Will DBS end with the End of Z?

And I don't see the need to retcon/overwrite EOZ. It's so small and self contained that it still fits and they've been setting up Uub throughout Super multiple times already. Just leave it as it is. Honestly so many major details about EoZ have been retconned that it'd be kinda goofy for it to happ...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions

ROF would be much better received if it got DBS Broly production quality Well, sure, but the story issues would still be a reason to complain lol. Not like the fights in RoF itself looked bad or anything, it's just kinda like the previous movies where the fights look cool but how the story got to t...

Re: Official Unofficial Power Level Discussion Thread

Shin is a case of study, he doesn't add up, right? Maybe kaioshin are that resistant, it should be that way, considering the hakaishin's life depends on theirs. We never see other kaioshin fight, aside of Zamasu's sparring match and filler flashbacks of Shin's nakamas, if that's worth anything, tho...

Re: Official Unofficial Power Level Discussion Thread

This mostly comes from seeing Goku struggling initially to wield the sword, but as soon as Goku starts swinging it, Shin’s reaction is one of those moments where you can tell “this guy is just too strong for my standards”. Is that an anime thing? Because in the chapter 478 it's Kibito who looks baf...

Re: Official Unofficial Power Level Discussion Thread

Base Gohan and Base Goku can lift the heavy z sword, albeit with difficulty. Kibito and Shin can’t. That only speaks for their muscle strength though. It's also worth pointing out that Gohan could only remove the Z-sword from that rock by turning super saiyan, even then it was still really difficul...

Re: What is the extent of Kami-sama's abilities as uh Kami

Being a Kami gives one the powers to watch over Earth, since Kami was paying attention to Goku's and king Piccolo's fight, and it's not limited to just "big" stuff too, since he noticed Cell arriving on Earth and was feeling uneasy about him for four/three years... He also seems capable of...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions

I remember the former member " Doctor ." here in these threads saying that Nº17 from the Universe Survival arc was out of character compared to how he was in the Cell arc, does anyone agree with that? I feel that he's a bit different for sure, but not that quite. 17 in Cell saga was a rel...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)

Not saying it was well executed, I'm saying it was the intention. Either way, Daima seems to be going the GT route of deaging the characters to nerf them. Whatever logic Daima uses, if they take away the teleportation technique, I won't complain about its absence. I honestly do wonder how much the ...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)

The logic of GT may be flawed, but the intention is what matters: Goku had grown way too powerful and had to be nerfed so the show could be taken seriously again. Giving Goku an ability like teleporting made him seem OP when he did use it and made him seem stupid when he didn't use it. Kinda funny ...

Hate to break it to you but at least Garfield has had actual character development that has stuck very recently so Dragon Ball is alone in its misery lol. EDIT: Added to clarify it was recent. Seriously? Garfield of all things? Same here. I know it's a long shot, given the popularity of Beerus and ...

Possibly gonna be a weird mix of movie and anime continuities, I don't think there'll be manga stuff.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse

I don't mean to get all political/gender studies, but https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women-are-wonderful_effect Basically if you ever have a group of villains and there's one female character, fans will almost always gravitate towards her being less evil than her male comrades. I'm aware of that. Si...

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse

I will say this: Considering how everyone usually gravitates towards Zangya, making her the most sympathetic character of the gang, seeing it happen to Bujin in DBM is interesting. Which's a little funny since Zangya was just as psychotic as the rest of Bojack's group, but then again so was Bujin.....

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)

On a side note, I'd appreciate if the fandom stopped pointing to GT as if it meant Daima would be terrible. Mind you, I wouldn't want Daima to be a retelling of GT, it already exists and it's there for anyone who wants to watch it, but the fandom treats a simple inspiration on it as if it was cance...
