Re: School Age at the Time of the Funi Dub's Premiere and En
I lived in England so it was a little different plus there aren't grades here. I don't know exactly when Z started over here but I do remember Cartoon Network commercials for it back in 1998 when I was around 7 years old. It did end roughly the same time as Z did in America so 2003 should be right. ...

Re: Listing for "Ocean Dub"-specific DBZ in July
Dude... I will buy the shit out of this if it's real. It almost seems too good to be true though. I want to believe it's real but I have a feeling it's fake. Honestly it's about time they acknowledge Ocean fans. I just hope they market it right otherwise the new generation of fans won't know what th...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming.
It wouldn't surprise me if they're dubbing the whole thing with the Buu arcs included. Either that or the actors are busy with other shows and have to dub their lines when they can or Ocean is busy doing something about the music and that's what's holding it up. I don't think it will be a TV only du...

If Funimation didn't do redubs Christopher Sabat would be a laughing stock right now.

Re: Songs that remind you of DBZ & characters
I listen to quite a bit of punk rock and heavy metal and whenever I hear a song that has the vocalist screaming it makes me think of Scott McNeil's Piccolo and his awesome screams throughout DBZ. (Especially at the start of Dead Zone)

Re: All Star Voice Cast
When I think "all star VOICE cast" the first thing that comes to mind isn't Hollywood actors/actresses. It's been said many times by VAs in the industry that most celebrity actors who get roles in animated films tend not to do a very good job due to the fact that they're not used to acting...

Surprised no ones mentioned Gohan's breaking of the 4th wall during the great Saiyaman saga.

Re: Dragon Ball: Blue Water Dub impressions?
Yeah I recently found out that it's more common for kids to get hired for voice work in Canada which is great because ultimately those kids grow up to be far more experienced actors than those who start when their in their 20s. The Ocean voice actor for Dende was apparently really young when he firs...

Re: Dragon Ball: Blue Water Dub impressions?
I never quite got used to the Blue Water voices after watching Ocean for so long. The GT Blue Water dub had a great intro and I loved the fact that they used child actors for Pan and a few other characters but other than that it wasn't that good. They're Dragonball dub was decent as I remember enjoy...

Re: DBZ a Favorite Cartoon?
I can never pick a favourite animated show out of everything I've seen in my life. It's like trying to pick a favourite movie or song of all time. There's just too many sub catagories to consider and some of them aren't even comparable. Also I've never liked to be over critical of shows I grew up wi...

Re: Movie 12 - The Freeza Scene
Correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't Freeza have died forever after this scene due to the rules of the afterlife that were revealed in the kid Buu saga? (If you die when you're already dead then you die for good)

Re: Why have the games...
I mean, how else are they going to sell these games? They've practically done everything they've could with the franchise. That's debatable... I'de say the games have been stagnant in terms of growth especially this gen. There are plenty of ways they could have improved the formula that the PS2 gam...

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK
I don't think Ocean are directly the ones to blame for cutting stuff out. They obviously have to follow the rules of the channel they're broadcasting on and I know that some countries are more relaxed than others when it comes to violence and sex. Btw the westwood dub did start referring to death so...

Re: What episode of DB/Z/GT had just aired when you were bor
Cool thread.
I looked it up and I was born two days after episode 149 titled "How I Have Waited for This Day!! Cell's Prologue to Perfection"
How weird since that's one of my favourite episodes. I always loved the Piccolo/17 fight.

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming.
Are all the Tao Pai Pai/Mercenary Tao scenes across the Android and Cell sagas filler and therefore not in Kai? I was hoping Scott McNiel would reprise that role as I always found his Tao voice quite humorous (in a good way).

As much as I'de love to see that Funi/Ocean/Japanese box set happen I can't see Funimation promoting another English Dragonball cast that could potentially be better than their own.

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK
I get the feeling it's still well known among the people who are actually old enough to remember it on Cartoon network and Toonami/CNX but I can't say for the younger fans. It doesn't help that, besides the games, nothing DBZ related really got released over here until very recently. The influence o...

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK
I'm hoping since Kix isn't a massively popular channel that they'll be able to get away with a few things. I'de imagine they aren't under as much scrutiny as the bigger kids channels. Then again I have no idea how kids TV channels operate.
