Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

The Detective Conan anime has been pulling relatively higher ratings than what I've become accustomed to seeing from it lately. I'm used to it kind of trading blows with One Piece (sometimes DC higher, sometimes OP higher). For the past month it's been consistently beating One Piece, and this week ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

People, forget(or don't know) that 4 episodes of anime is 1 Month. 8 episodes 2 months, 12 episodes 3 months and 1 season! Having 1 season of filler doesn't make 1 person stop watching an anime and then return to the canon episodes. It makes people go and never return. Also, people simple counting p...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

It's kind of the same thing as the U.S. California has 39 million people living there and New York has 8.5 million people living there according to google. Most other states don't even have half as much. So logically the most populated area in Japan would be the most accounted for. In fact it isn't...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

So all this time we've been discussing the ratings for a single region of Japan? I thought those were national rankings. What's the point in discussing Kanto only ratings? It makes no sense. And considering they cancelled Kai even though it was getting good ratings, I would say they don't care abou...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

Just a simple note: Super Sentai and Kamen Rider are considered animation/anime in Japan, or at least for the people that gather the TV ratings. And: Super Sentai and Kamen Rider aren't Toei Animation propreties, but Toei Company. Toei Animation is the "son" of Toei Company, but in pretty...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

My Hero Academia is doing really well. For those keeping track, do we ever see another anime that isn't one of these long-running shows make into the top 10? Also, this list is for animated shows only right? No dramas and such? Yep, only animated shows. In the time-slot where My Hero Academia is, t...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

Also people should stop caring for ratings. These ratings mostly refer to kids till 14 at most years old. Kids who don't care for bloody battles and prefer butt jokes. Merchandise sales are crucial. Everything else is unimportant. Especially, when db is loved in every official streaming site I'm ho...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

I imagine the plan for Super is a 5 year run. We're in year 2, so I imagine another 3 years and that'll be it. Super will have over 200 episodes by the end of the 5th year, so that be nearly as long as DBZ's run. The initial plan was only around 2 years. So I would assume they will extend this arc ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

You shouldn't just look at the position a series is, and instead of being worried about Dragon Ball Super you should be worried about the entirety of anime(At least the ones not late-night), because on TV Anime is not the only thing that airs, and if anime becomes unpopular, it will be replaced by o...

Speak of the devil: 1. Sazae: 12.3% 2. Chibi Maruko-chan 8.0% 3. Doreamon: 7.2% 4. Conan: 7.1% 5. One Piece: 6.1% 6. Dragon Ball Super: 5.0% 7. My Hero Academia: 4.5% 8. Pokemon Sun & Moon: 3.8% Sorry if I did that wrong. Why stop at the 8th place? 1. Sazae: 12.3% 2. Chibi Maruko-chan 8.0% 3. D...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

Bigivel, I don't know why you're being that aggressive but you still haven't explained why it's normal for them to stop at Cell. Even if the kids don't properly know Dragon Ball's story, they are aware Boo and SS3 exist so, if Toei decided to air a new "Z" portion of the manga, common sen...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

So decrease of a franchise means cancellation. What about One Piece and Precure then? Okay, I mean this question on its own shows that you didn't read the article or earnings graphs I posted. Anyway, since we're not disagreeing on the Kai/Super comparison, I don't have much else to add to my origin...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

There's actually much more to Kanzenshuu's conclusion if you looked at their article I linked. I mean, just looking at the slump in sales from Kai's release in 2009 alone backs their conclusion: [spoiler] http://www.kanzenshuu.com/generalinfo/features/kaievolution_chart7-large.png?x17128 http://www...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

I'm going by this site's article on The Evolution of Dragon Ball Kai . Specifically From the beginning, based on Toei Animation’s projected episode count, it appeared as though they were only planning Kai as far ahead as whatever the current arc was. And to the point of Kai 1.0's failure as a show ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

Yes, I was pretty sure that was a false rumor, but really the only point I was making with Kai is that Toei could have produced more episodes immediately if it was as successful as Dragon Ball Super. Of course, we all know Kai went on to be internationally successful and Buu Kai was made later, but...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

Super was not planned for two years, there was no plan. And with Kai there was similarly no 2 year plan as Kanzenshuu themselves said those rumours were from unsourced reports. What rumours are you talking about? I didn't talked of any rumour at all, you're reaching. I'm talking about Toei Animatio...
