Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Todd Blankenship @Herms98 This site likewise says the new Kitaro series will start in the 9:00 AM Sunday timeslot on April 1st, and that DB's broadcast afterwards is still "under discussion" Yeah, sounds like they're planning something already and it's definitely returning. The way they're...

Re: Super possibly losing its timeslot or going on hiatus in March?
DBS ending won't suddenly stop the money train. The manga is going, video games are going, a movie by Toriyama is coming. Ain't no money is being lost. Movie isn't coming out to the end of the year, the Super manga is nowhere near as big as the anime even in Japan, and lot of the video games get fo...

Re: Super possibly losing its timeslot or going on hiatus in March?
Why? Other manga writers do it, with Oda being the standout example, and Toriyama isn't even doing most of the heavy lifting. Oh, it's not that I doubt Toriyama could do it, but I could totally understand if they're avoiding to tire him out of the franchise, too. I mean, we know he's writing the fu...

Re: Super possibly losing its timeslot or going on hiatus in March?
There's still new GT merchandise and that series has been over for 20+ years; Shueisha will probably still be making Super merchandise 20 years from now if it still sells well enough. That's a different situation. They didn't rebrand main Z merchandise as "GT" in 1998, after it was over, ...

Re: Super possibly losing its timeslot or going on hiatus in March?
Heck they're not slowing down they're adding even more things to the DBS brand!! The "Blood of Saiyan" line was under the Z brand and from May it will be shifted over to DBS branding. With the three on going gashapon sets Bandai have announced another one starting in Feb. The Ichiban Kuji...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
*The trio: Because Goku and Vegeta didn't try to kill them? It still baffles me how some people missed the fact the strongest characters constantly had to hold back in the ToP to avoid killing, despite that being spelled out on screen a few times. Not that i expect much from power level nerds, anyw...

Re: Super possibly losing its timeslot or going on hiatus in March?
At this point if Super actually continues during March into April with no breaks I'd be shocked. All signs point to it ending and leaving the schedule. I guess there will be no fillers then, wouldn't people want that? If we get new eps I imagined we'd get like 10-15 slice of life eps before the nex...

Re: Super possibly losing its timeslot or going on hiatus in March?
Literally the only thing that could justify Super ending/taking a break would be a lack of staff due to the new movie, including Toriyama himself being apparently extremely busy with the script and designs.
Anyway, what's the reason for the March 11th break?

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I think one of the posters here told us the reason. The writers have the characters state the obvious in order for the young kids to fully understand what is going on (in case they missed something). This is a kids show, after all. It can be vexing for us grown ups, but it is what it is. They expla...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
In the meanwhile, they would have time to generate more hype for the movie as many more people would be willing to see it if there's no Dragon Ball show airing That's..just wrong and not really how it works in Japan, particularly for long running anime. An airing anime is like having a weekly adver...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Vegeta still has "cool" episode that will air during the tournament. Once we get staff lists on episode 125 and 126 , we will know when Yeah, keep going with that cool vegeta episode you are waiting for. Just remember that his "cool" moment might be different that what you are p...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Just a couple of friendly reminders regarding Jump Festa: - it doesn't start until Saturday morning in Japan, so don't expect anything for the next 20 hours or so. - there was no Dragon Ball stage or special presentation officially announced at all, unlike other franchises, so there's nothing certain.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Yamcha deserves better, his manga is still doing good with the backlog sales, but sad that Toriyama sees him as a joke. the japanese fans clearly like him and wouldve been more interesting seeing him fight than the Androids(who already overstayed their welcome imo).. You can't really use the 'Yamch...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
With the announcement of the new Captain Tsubasa, I'm curious to see whether Monster Hunter will keep being DBS' lead in starting next April. I mean, can David production endure two (potential) long running productions at the same time? We know it won't be a direct replacement, though, as Tsubasa is...

Not exactly sure what drugs you’re taking, but I’d like some. Herms has not posted these spoilers. Why lie? Here is the link https://twitter.com/Herms98/status/938484340157116416 The 'spoilers' listed with an episode for 31 December is almost certainly fake. Definitely. There'll most certainly be a...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
The Goku vs Caulifla/Kale episodes were very well received as far as I can tell. Casuals rated it extremely high, even on apps like Tv show time, which are a good indication when it comes to the average viewer. Well, you don't need to pay much attention to realize that the final episode and the Yuya...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Yeah. It feels like Toei had this whole plot point set up where Toppo would hound Goku for the remainder of the tournament but then abandoned it. I never really got that feeling. All Toppo facing Goku meant to me, both in the anime and the manga, was the typical "ohhh he's strong but he's sayi...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
The special's only got low ratings because Asahi moved Kamen Rider and sentai opposite DBS and OP the week or so before. I can't judge the post move ratings be the same as the pre move ones. Yeah, this is extremely important. Live ratings won't ever reach the highs of episode 47 and such after the ...
