Re: "Dragon Ball Super" FUNimation Dub Official Discussion Thread

I just got off from watching the movie at the theater after being a naughty boy on YouTube after its Latin American premiere, and I'm impressed with this FUNimation dub. The acting in it by everyone was great, the dialogues work nicely without straying too far from the Japanese counterpart, and it o...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"

Saw the movie. Here are my thoughts on it: -Generally amazing animation throughout. The characters felt lively and the fighting sequences were outstanding, possibly becoming my favorite pieces of action in the whole franchise. For the most part, I liked Naohiro Shintani's new character designs and f...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"

Why not just tag it under spoilers like I did? I really enjoyed Kanzenshuu's podcast reviewing Broly. But some of the comments towards it left me scratching my head wondering if we had seen the same film. And I think both are very discerning, and I thought their positives on the film nailed it. Let ...

Re: LATIN AMERICAN DUB CONFIRMED (Brenda Nava Confirmed as translator!)

I love that in episode 109, when Goku is done fighting Super Ribrianne and kicks her away before facing Jiren, he shouts to Ribrianne, "Shut up!", while in the Japanese version he just grunts.

Re: LATIN AMERICAN DUB CONFIRMED (Brenda Nava Confirmed as translator!)

Did they pull a reset again like with Z back in the day? Seems that they screwed up again like last week but this time they broadcasted a previous episode instead of 108.

Fan responses are unsurprising:

As soon as possible for the Japanese premiere with subs, but will rewatch once the Latin American dub comes out.

Re: LATIN AMERICAN DUB CONFIRMED (Brenda Nava Confirmed as translator!)

I'm growing tired of censorship of sexual scenes, but at least episode 105 should be the last one to have it.

Well, at least the second opening was fixed per say without any singing at all.

Re: LATIN AMERICAN DUB CONFIRMED (Brenda Nava Confirmed as translator!)

the opening of arale is quite good, with this I confirm that the problem is of the openings is of null direction and the hurried https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYWwZHUARP0 How ironic is that it's better than both Super openings. I wonder, is it the opening used for the old Dr. Slump anime, or is i...

Re: LATIN AMERICAN DUB CONFIRMED (Brenda Nava Confirmed as translator!)

This almost made me chuckle. Looks like they learned nothing from last year. I can't wait to hear more butchered LatAm dubs of the ending themes. That opening was worse than I imagined. It makes "Vuela, Pega, y Esquiva" sound like a masterpiece. Probably what annoyed me the most is that qu...

Re: Fan Service Tipping Point in DBS

Is that a tipping point or something that you’re just not a fan of? I think they’ve handled his return pretty well so far. The only reason he cooperated was because it was in his best interest. Now that he’s learned how effective “teamwork” is, we might have a good story on our hands in the Broly m...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I'd like it if 17 teamed up with Gohan next chapter to take out Kefla. They very briefly fought together in the anime against Toppo so I'd like to see more of that here. Also wonder if Roshi will fight next chapter, be kinda funny if Roshi ends up lasting longer than Gohan. It would be funny if Ros...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

How do you guys think Kefla will be eliminated? I've got gohan grabbing her and freeza blasting both off the stage. Kefla will dominate Gohan Blanco in the shortest fight in the series by demolishing him to pieces not even Chi-Chi will recognize whatever remains of his gruesome face. Kefla defuses ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I didn't like it. Too many fighters, even some that I didn't care for in the anime, were spanked out of the arena, eliminating a ridiculous of amount of universes almost at once as a result. Freeza was nowhere to be seen despite getting ready to resume his fight with Kale at the end of the last chap...
