Re: Demon King Piccolo appreciation
He's easily my favourite villain in the whole series. His introduction just shattered what was expected and he was the first villain to really strike fear into my heart.

Re: Dr. Slump: The Movies Vol. 2?
Dr Slump's not as good as Dragon Ball but I love its art style that segued into DB. Plus, there's almost certainly a market for a Dr Slump dub or even a fansub here, and I additionally believe in releasing older series unreleased in English so people take in anime from various periods rather than ex...

Re: A DragonBall "Universe"
We've already gotten some spinoff series like Neko Majin and such. Plus, Dr Slump could be considered part of Dragon Ball's expanded universe. I'm not opposed to new in-universe media that's not specifically related to existing characters and events. More detail on Saiyans and Namekians and Freeza's...

If Kikuchi hadn't retired from Dragon Ball (seemingly exclusively) I'd love to have him compose for Kai and Super. Everything the man composes is excellent and I doubt he'd get considerably worse with age.

Re: Shunsuke Kikuchi's most recent score is 'Hurricane Polimar' (2017)
While Ajay's point is valid, I don't think Kikuchi-sensei is completely retired. Digging into his IMDB and Japanese Wikipedia reveals that he is credited for the obscure Red Dead Wagon TV movie series and some more Doraemon stuff post-DBZ.

Re: Who started the DB Renaissance?
I recall a remark on seeing Super Saiyan 4 Broly in a game got Toriyama triggered and made him want to take control of Dragon Ball again.

Quick audio question
I got the Manga Entertainment edition of Seasons 1 and 2 of Dragon Ball for Christmas (image is here if you need to know what I'm talking about) [spoiler]https://www.google.ca/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&ved=0ahUKEwiX6snQ9pfZAhUBTGMKHSg4DDcQjRwIBw&url=http%...

Re: What will Funimation do with DB after Super ends?
I'm assuming they will either re-release DBZ (though I personally think it's been released enough) and keep up its role promoting Dragon Ball in the English-speaking world. I'd like to see them remaster the Japanese audio for the original Dragon Ball personally.

Re: Goten/Trunks Schooling...
I don't think Goten is having the same obsessive education that Gohan did and I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't studying because he comes off as being pretty dumb to me, like his dad. Trunks probably has inherited his parents' intellect because of cartoon logic and probably doesn't need to study ...

Re: Thoughts on Gatekeeping in the Community
I would talk DB more but I don't really have friends that are into it in the same way I am. I have one friend I can talk about anything including DB with but we usually end up having the same DB conversation when we talk about it. When I find out somebody I know likes DB it's kind of hard for me to ...

Re: Why does Funimation refuse to acknowledge the term "Ki"?
Y'know, this is actually quite puzzling. The video games (or at least Xeno 2) use ki and I've always known that was the proper term. I've seen Chi used more in things I've seen (besides DB) so as far as I'm aware that's the more common term.

General Blue gets a few variations, though Tao Pai Pai's BGMs aren't super memorable.KBABZ wrote:I also kinda forgot that Kikuchi had themes for Tao Pai-Pai and General Blue! Sure it was just one track for each, but still!

Chi Chi would destroy Videl easily...Videl is durable and can fly, but Chi Chi has the Senin style. You can't compare. A18 is in another level, Chi Chi is like a worm against A18. For some reason I doubt Chi-Chi would stand a chance against Spopovich or Mr Satan... Spopovich I'll give you since he ...

Re: DB Equivalent of Force Theme
I don't think the Shenlong themes are played anywhere near as frequently as the Force Theme is so those aren't the equivalent at all. https://youtu.be/9ApDxmmv8Z0 The variations on the Saiyajin theme are probably the consensus pick, but the Genki-Dama theme also has some relevance in this discussion...

Re: Who Would You Cosplay or Not Cosplay from DB?
I'm too lazy, clueless about cosplay, and broke to actually cosplay but if I did I'd probably be Great Saiyaman. Being Krillin or one of the bald characters would be great but I have EXTREMELY thick and fluffy long hair (hence my username) so wearing a bald cap would make me look like a Talosian fro...

I've started to enjoy the Japanese dub more now, though my DVDs have horrible sound quality for the Japanese and good quality for the English.

Chaozu is a Jiangshi who follows some of the traits posed here. Some noteworthy differences are that he is able to move freely and doesn't appear to live in the dark. Check the Wikipedia article out for more info. It's a good source.
