Re: Dragon Ball Without Its Creator

I feel like Dragon Ball will probably be like how Kamen Rider was after Shotaro Ishinomori died. Toei will milk it and we still get good content, but still won't feel the same.

Re: Dragon Ball Without Its Creator

I have seen people say that Toriyama's family member should carry on DB, but I doubt that will happen.

Re: Dragon Ball Without Its Creator

It's going to feel odd without him around. However, the series will move on without him. Bandai and Shueisha still have plenty of stuff to milk the series with. Series like Kamen Rider as an example, was able to do new stuff without the original creator alive.

Re: Akira Toriyama Passes Away.

The future of Dragon Ball is going to be up in the air. Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is the last film that he wrote and Daima will be his piece of DB work ever.

I actually hope they're not gonna drop all 20 episodes at once.
That seems like a norm for many Streaming series. They will probably do that.

Re: Actual Celebrities doing dubbing on Dragon Ball (Star Talents)

So according to you, Bill Gates is a kind, good-hearted person who cares about you very much, and the fact that he never finished College, has no medical degree, but yet is allowed to give medical advice, isn't that big of a deal. And forcing people to get the COVID Vaccine should never have been m...

How long would have taken Funimation to dub DBZ if they didn't skip the rest of DB?

Had the Pilaf saga been a hit on American TV in 1995 and Funimation finish the rest of the show, how long would have taken for them to reach DBZ to do so? Skipping the rest of DB and going staight to DBZ felt like a double edge sword to me. It did help the series become more popular, but also made p...

Re: DBZ's TV Ratings reign is over.

Most people don't watch cable anymore and people are not going to stay up super late to watch re-runs of a old TV show.

Re: "Dragon Ball FighterZ" Official Discussion Thread

Since nobody replied to this and I can't find anything on Google, does it mean there is no physical release for PC? Physical PC releases practically don't exist anymore, it's all digital. They still do exist, but just not as many. I did saw a phsyical copy of Destroy All Humans 2 remake and Ghostwi...

Re: Your watching experience on Toonami

I knew about Dragon Ball before Toonami aired it. I saw the first few episodes of the Pilaf saga in 1997 and I saw A Black Day for Planet Earth on TV in early-mid 1998 by mistake (I was looking for Beast Wars to watch and I was like "What is this?"). Back when I hated the series, I was wat...

Re: Your watching experience on Toonami

I did watch Toonami as a kid, but I was still mostly into anime on VHS, Sci-Fi, or Starz at the time. I was there when Toonami was a brand new thing back in 1997 when they had American cartoons (Like The Fleischer Superman cartoons, Johnny Quest, etc). I think I stop paying attention to Toonami afte...

Re: Why didnt goku chach the dragon ball in dead zone

Even the Daizenshuu considers the movies to be in their own dimension. Having a movie like Fusion Reborn, Super #13, Lord Slug, etc would be impossible to fit into the anime or manga. Even the old Broli movies feel like What If stories now after Toriyama did his own take on the character for Super.

Re: Why didnt goku chach the dragon ball in dead zone

Trying to pull all of the DB films and shows into one timeline is like trying to put all the Godzilla movies into one timeline. It doesn't work and makes things way too confusing.

Because it's easier to lump them all together than to nitpick about "this happens here, that happens there" in a show supposedly for kids. I feel like it is easier to put them in their own timeline than trying to make them into one confusing mess. The the original seventeen theatrical fil...
