Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I don’t say this lightly, but this fucking sucks. I’m not a prude or anything, but DBM is needlessly & tastelessly gory, and it only serves to hurt the final product.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
My reading of Goku not eating is that training with Merus is making Goku more divine, suggesting that he’ll probably have some degree of control on Ultra Instinct sooner rather than later.
But I doubt it’ll be something that sticks if that’s the case. Goku not eating just feels wrong.

God, Universe 13 is one of the worst ones too. This is going to be miserable. I just want to get back to the tournament, but the fact the battle royale is STILL going means there’s still such a long way there.

Anticlimactic, out of place, and poorly written? It’s a DBM Special, alright.
I swear, they’re only getting worse.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
It seems that Vegeta has polarizing, contradictory examples of being both a prideful prince, and a clear coward. He does, because Toriyama had just made the decision to keep him around instead of leaving him a dead villain. Once Vegeta got resurrected, his personality had to change to be a regular ...

Re: Gohan vs. Dyspo or Gohan vs. Kefla: Who was the better final opponent for Gohan in the ToP?
Toyotaro should have shown more of Gohan’s fight with Kafla, but it’s at least framed well (kind of) in the actual chapter, jumping from fight to fight. He still really should have shown the fight, but I like what it represents. Gohan vs Dyspo is an actual fight on the other hand, but Dyspo has no s...

in the manga only the sacrifice of 17? so only friendship boost You need to analyze beyond the surface level. It seems like most readers only look at the text and look at the pictures without really digesting what's happening in any given panel. 99% of the time, details like this can be cleared up ...

Concentrating in an extremely high stakes environment where he was pushed to his absolute limits.
Goku triggering UI isn't nearly as dramatic in the manga, but what Goku said still makes sense for the manga continuity.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I didn't even consider the possibility of writing out a set of Dragon Balls, but now I so desperately want it even though it probably won't happen. Even for just an arc or two. I miss having the Dragon Balls out of the picture. Toriyama found creative ways to get around the Dragon Balls between the ...

They are only so ineffective with their training because the author wants them to be Well, obviously. Everything that happens in any story happens because the author wants those things to happen, Dragon Ball is no different. It's also important to analyze characters by what they actually do and acc...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Dragon Ball Super has basically doubled down on all of Piccolo's worst aspects from the Boo arc (really, everyone's worst aspects from the Boo arc) without any of the good. Even in the Boo arc where Piccolo's role is considerably lessened, he is: wise, strategic, and can contribute meaningfully in w...

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
In a post-Dragon Ball Super world, I think we can safely assume that King Cold was "always" in his second form. But I just struggle to believe that was Toriyama's intent. We know so little about Cold, and transformations weren't as common place yet, so I think it's safe to assume that Free...

Re: Did Goku Unintentionally Sabotage The Strength Gains Of The Z Senshi Against Cell?
Everyone sabotaged themselves by training alone. Goku only needed to train nine months with Gohan to basically eclipse everyone but Cell and his son. Dragon Ball doesn't always make it a point, but it's fairly consistent that characters tend to get a lot stronger when they aren't training alone. I t...

Tenshinhan and Chaozu's relationship is also framed very different from Caulifla and Kale's. Maybe you could argue their relationship in the manga is meant to be sisterly, but their dynamic in the anime isn't framed so simply.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Regardless of how Toyotaro and Toriyama are now working together, it’s clear that it’s working. The Moro arc has been the best arc in the manga so far. I’d even go so far to say the best arc across both DBS adaptations. That is debatable ... I still believe that the Zamasu arc is still better being...

Re: What specifically was wrong with Vic Mignogna’s take on Broly?
Vic’s good as Edward in the FMA dub, but that’s far and away his best performance and nothing he’s done has been as good.
As for his Broly, he suffers from the same issues most characters do when performed in English: a lack of depth and a lack of proper direction to bring out everyone’s talent.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
This chapter has been dreadful so far. The coloring just makes the already unpleasant character models look like plastic and the action is really bad, even for DBM standards.

Can you give me a quote where Toriyama wrote characters calling final forms Strongest? Because Says the same "oh he's shrunk lol" line for Perfect Cell too and Kuririn said same about Freeza Final form. This is another issue with your arguments. You recognize that Toriyama reuses similar ...

Re: Pure Boo was definitely Stronger than Gohan
I see you tweet about this constantly and I just can't wrap my head around it. I read the fight against Pure Boo recently as part of my re-read and there's just nothing substantial there that indicates Pure Boo is stronger. What text there is describing him avoids calling him the strongest in the wa...
