Re: Has the existence of Ultra Instinct removed any tension from any future antagonists?
What bugs me more about it is that it essentially removes any notion of skill or strategy in fighting. Goku just sets his body on autopilot and doesn't even do any conscious fighting. That's extremely boring, and IC Goku should hate it. It's unconscious action, but it's still his action. UI is a st...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I can again speak directly because he quoted my post and there was a back and forth exchange, your inferring your point based on mind reading. It looks like his statement was a post to the forum thread and not at any particular person so I’m not sure how your connecting these makes sense. It doesn’...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
There is no disassociation between Toriyama and Dragonball. Do not forget that Dragon Ball original manga is amazing not for Toriyama... it was for its editor: Yū Kondō. Of course Toriyama was pretty good with the development of the history, drawing,... but the real genious here was Yū Kondō. I'm s...

Regardless of whether they are or not, the thing to take away is what you saw from Kale are the same things you'd frequently see if you watched/read actual yuri.

Re: Can someone explain to me why Roshi vs Jiren is bad?
I further clarified that I'm not interested in fretting over which composition is more appropriate with you because of its basis in those very, very baseless nitpicks. The entire premise of my post was “which composition is more appropriate”, by not engaging in that discussion you're not responding...

Re: Can someone explain to me why Roshi vs Jiren is bad?
But that's exactly what you're doing. Unlike you admitting the point that yourself, as a backseat writer, just described was the same, I acknowledged that there was a flurry of punches. The composition of the scene shows Jiren quickly adjusting his strength to (casually) take Roshi out. First of al...

Re: Can someone explain to me why Roshi vs Jiren is bad?
The general progression and flow is still as you've described it, except you're nitpicking over the exact paneling in an attempt to pry apart the point. Don't do that. More like you're ignoring the exact composition of the scene to cling to your point. Do that if you want. It's like saying kid Goku...

Re: Can someone explain to me why Roshi vs Jiren is bad?
If there is an explaination, that's not a bad one ... Jiren suppresses to Roshi's level, but he is surpised Roshi's speed / reaction and strength aren't evenly matched. That's why he initially can't hit him, once Jiren adapts to that, it's end of the ride for Roshi. The chapter even reinforces this...

I can agree in theory it wouldn't hurt. I can't agree in the context of this execution that it didn't hurt.

Even supposing that(which does not run contrary to my position), how does that show it's the same as it was against Vegeta?

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
He didn't use Blue Kaioken. I've asked some Japanese translators and they said it was only compared to Kaioken. Krillin's statement just got translated poorly in Viz. He was only agreeing with Tenshinhan that it does put a toll on the body. The English seems perfectly fine to me. Tenshinhan was onl...

Re: Can someone explain to me why Roshi vs Jiren is bad?
You didn't read my post at all. Well, that's one disrespectful theory. I'm not surprised it's one you'd favor. Me, I always go with thinking that I didn’t make myself clear, or perhaps that they know something I don't. Except if they respond too quickly. Anyway, I wonder which theory is supported b...

Re: Can someone explain to me why Roshi vs Jiren is bad?
Frieza didn't power up. There was no change in form or aura. Frieza literally decided to go from completely playing around to actually fighting. Do you really think Frieza got more durable in between fighting Vegeta and fighting Goku? Are you ignoring that he said he's been holding back his power a...

What's the value of a universe? Why stay within its confines? DB has the liberty of going anywhere it wants.

Re: Can someone explain to me why Roshi vs Jiren is bad?
So anime fanboys can accept that Roshi, who had not fought in any saga since the start of Z. Could go mano a mano versus the strongest warriors in other Universes. Yet he was weaker than Raditz. But he dodging and making jiren block, is too Much ? lol? If I hear another person say that Roshi made J...

Does anyone want to feel sad for me that I'm often intimidated away from posting by some of the stauncher manga supporters? Those guys in the Funimation dub thread are pretty scary too.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Roshi is not the master who taught him fundamentals. He absolutely is. Roshi specifically called those busywork exercises "the basics" multiple times, then reiterated how they helped solidify their perception, power, speed, and minds. That's what I was referring to. And what Roshi was ref...
