Re: Dragon Ball Z to air on Rede Brasil in October
Hey, some great news! I was without internet for a whole week, so I couldn't tell it earlier. I'm sorry! But check it out: remember that russian roulette scene from episode 14? THAT WAS INTACT! Dubbed and everything. We only got censored scenes in PlayArte's DVDs, and if I'm right, Band aired this s...

Re: Kaioh still dead. Toei got it wrong?
I'm not sure about it. I need to check the manga raw, but can't find anywhere Let me ask you, did you checked Viz's translation? I found this chapter by Viz release and ONLY HERE, ignoring DBZ, Goku says Kaioh rejected being revived. Every other translation I checked (official or fan-made) says Kaio...

Kaioh still dead. Toei got it wrong?
So we had Dragon Ball Super 67 yesterday. By its ending, we got this NEP: everyone trying to get the dragon balls to get a wish; Goku's wish is to revive Kaioh-sama Buuuuut... If we take Dragon Ball manga chapter 417, Goku, while saying goodbye and telling everyone to not revive him, says Kaioh was ...

Re: Dragon Ball Backyardigans meme
Yes, just a joke. I remember Dragon Ball Super was about to debut and this came. People were assuming it was real mainly because this Mew2king's tweet: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/95/43/a1/9543a151f3565cae9982b4ef7592e7dd.jpg Don't know if he wanted to do some hoax or he was just uninf...

Re: Uub's Name
In a human point of view, it's just a coincidence, even more when humanity forgot about Majin Boo event (they only know Mr. Boo) We could also believe some "angel Gabriel" (Enma Daioh, maybe?) came and said "name your son Oob", but... I don't think this would happen. I ever belie...

Re: Dragon Ball Z to air on Rede Brasil in October
Senpai TV today showed some clips from Dragon Ball (Goku vs. Tenshinhan in 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai and Goku killing Piccolo Daimaoh). I'm confused. There's no news about Rede Brasil having broadcast rights about Dragon Ball. Well, it's a new and small TV station, they even aired Saint Seiya years bac...

Then it's the same link I have here, and the same stream every site is redirecting to. I will try again tomorrow. I'll wait for some uploads to update here Edit: After some retries, I could watch half the episode! "Dragão Z" is still here A friend just enabled Firebug and said "it wor...

Where are you watching? Me and some friends can't watch it. There's some people saying you need to open it really early or they'll block itgregoryluis09 wrote:They didn't took the stream down, it is working fine here.

Re: Dragon Ball Z to air on Rede Brasil in October
Wait, the Portugal Portuguese dub is being synced to the Funi remaster? I know the European Portuguese dub is cut, but did it have NEPs? If not, the idea that they're syncing it to Funi's sources...as flawed as they are... might be a sign that they want to do an uncut release (even if it involves t...

Re: Dragon Ball Z to air on Rede Brasil in October
I don't think there are two different dubs. When Globo broadcasted Z they did some editions in the audio and Lobue for what I know redubbed Piccolo's lines in the first 6 episodes for constancy. But it's a different case of for example, YuYu Hakusho or Saint Seiya, that actually have two different ...

Re: Dragon Ball Z to air on Rede Brasil in October
DBZ actually had 2 dubs. The first one got every episode and aired on Cartoon Network, Band (saiyajins to Cell sagas) and Globo (Boo saga). In this first dub, Piccolo had a different voice in the first episodes (Leonardo Camilo), changing to his iconic voice (Luiz Antônio Lobue) in the early episode...

Re: What version did you start off with?
Dragon Ball debuted in Brazil in 1996. I can't tell the exact year because I was very young (born in 95), but maybe in 96 or 97. I remember watching an episode in Goku and Kuririn training arc Then, in 2000, Dragon Ball Z aired here, and I've watched the Androids and Boo arcs properly Also, the mang...

Re: How come Funi didn't dub Chala ?
Just correcting, the brazilian version got Cha-La Head Cha-La. The portuguese one had the french version adapted I don't know why, but U.S. used to change anime openings (today this is less common), and DBZ was not an exception Also, Ocean Dub opening is visually almost the same. Maybe there's somet...

Re: Why is Broly popular?
Where did you get the idea that you can't develop a whole story in 30 minutes? The plot in the movie isn't complex. Someone who felt betrayed wants revenge so he sets out to get revenge on the son of the man he deems responsible, but his son's rage gets the better of him. It's not a great story and...

Re: Why is Broly popular?
I wouldn't say "random", but there is a crucial fact: the whole movie have 71 min. Let's ignore opening and ending, and we could say 35 were plot development, 35 minutes were fighting. There's no way to develop a whole story in just 30 minutes, because something will be missing (and this i...

Re: Manga vs Anime
I always prefer the source/manga, only having two or three exceptions, but I grew up watching the anime and I can't just say "the manga is far superior". For me, DB and DBZ were good adaptations, but just good. Most of filler were very boring, and I not saying about arcs, but damn, just wa...

Re: Why is Broly popular?
I liked RoF, I liked Dragon Ball Minus. I understand who don't liked RoF, but I can't see any problem in DB-. I would like to see your thoughts, if possible I can't see Broly as a good character. He's overpowered and just overpowered. His backstory is lame. "oh but he is destined to fight goku&...

Re: Manga Translations?
In Brazil, we had three publications. Conrad released the tankobon in 2000, dividing in two parts (Dragon Ball and DBZ, just like Viz did), and the kanzenban in 2005, incomplete because the publisher bankrupted. I can't say anything about those, since I never put my hand in an edition. However, Pani...
