Re: Questions about collecting the series on VHS

I have the entirety of “Z” on VHS. It’s a beautiful collection, and i’m Super proud of it. You’re right, the complete sets look really great ona shelf. I’ve watched thru all of the tapes a couple times since my collection has been complete, and aside from I think 3 tapes that had brief audio dropout...

Re: When did the Funi in house cast truly stop imitating the ocean group actors?

I agree that Sabat’s Vegeta stayed very “Drummond-esque” for a long time. Another voice that sounded like an Ocean Dub impression for a long time was Dale Kelly as the Narrator. Of course Sabat and Kyle Hebert went back over those parts, respectively, for the remastered release, so the only time tho...

Re: Best and Worst outfits of the characters

Goku best: I’ve always loved the end of Dragon Ball/Dead Zone outfit that consisted of the reddish gi, Black undershirt and of course the power pole. Goku worst: Yardrat clothing, or the street clothes he wears when he goes to driving school :D Piccolo best: Love it when he’s in full dress, includin...

Re: How to ease the pain of the upcoming hiatus

I finished ep. 153 of Dragon Ball last night! On to Z today. I’m gonna finish Z and GT, maybe the movies and maybe start watching the Funi dub of Super after that, assuming it’s far enough along at that point. I’m assuming it’ll take me 3 or 4 months to get to that point so we’ll see. If the time co...

Re: 'Resurrection F' on (international) Blu-Ray 3D

I was really hoping for a 3D release in America back in 2015! If not on home video, at least in theatres! It’s a shame we never got to see it in 3D. The Hong Kong version would work in American blu Ray players though, as both countries are Region A. It’d Be worth importing and checking out. I did th...

Re: If you could voiceover a Dragon Ball character who would it be?

I would want to voice someone kind of tertiary, like Burter or Dabura, and just have my “15 minutes” in Dragon Ball.

However, I was told a few months ago that I did a stellar Brian Drummond Vegeta impression, so there’s that.

Re: Something fans should consider: From drought period to now

The drought period was honestly a really fun time for me. Although the games were repetitive and the Orange Bricks sucked, Dragon Ball was off the radar, and it was kind of “ours to own” for a little while. Now I see everyone walking around in DB shirts they got from Hot Topic and I risk the chance ...

Re: How Much Does Your Mom/Sister/Grandma/Girlfriend Know About Dragon Ball?

My Mom doesn’t care about/know anything about the series. My sister on the other hand, loved it growing up, probably because she was so influenced by her older brother. She would play with the action figures, play the video games, watch the anime with me, etc. My fiancée doesn’t really care about it...

Re: Ways Dragon Ball makes you happy!

The absolute biggest way Dragon Ball makes me happy is probably the same for a lot of others. The nostalgia. I can come home from my stupid job and press play on my blu Ray player, picking up where I left off the night before, and I get lost in the story and the characters and the animation, and i’m...

Re: which Saga have you re-watched the most and which saga have you re-watched the least

Definitely the Saiyan Saga, due to all the times I’ve watched the series as a whole, on top of all the times I’ve gotten nostalgic and popped in the Ocean Dub VHSs. Which is totally justifiable because it’s the Saga that I saw the least of growing up, considering it wasn’t released uncut until 2005.

Re: Do you still hate Dragonball GT?

I hadn’t watched it since it’s run on Toonami in ‘04/‘05. Just picked up the Funi “Complete Series” set at Walmart and although i’m Only about halfway through, I’ve decided that the show is totally over-hated! I’m actually enjoying it quite a bit, and I think it’s visually more satisfying because it...

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?

Just bought the Funi GT complete series box set because I saw it at Wal Mart for $20 and thought "what the hell". I haven't watched GT since it was on Toonami in '04 or '05, and decided to watch it as an adult, which is probably a terrible idea, because even as a child, I thought it was su...

Re: What era of DB were you exposed to?

I remember watching DBZ for the first time the day my sister was born, it was July 1999. Went home with my Grandma that night, so my Mom could rest. Anyways Grandma put the TV on Cartoon Network so I could watch it while I fell asleep and Toonami's Mignight Run was on. The episode I saw was definite...

Re: So I just bought the Blu Rays...

Honestly, I love the blu rays, I was more than glad to sell my orange bricks in exchange for the blu rays. The only complaint I have about them, is that they changed the episode title font, which is honestly something pretty silly to be upset about

Re: Things in the story that bother you

When Bulma suggests, in the Trunks saga, that they find the dragon balls and ask the dragon to locate Gero's lab, Vegeta shouts at her and acts like it's the most ridiculous idea in the world. His argument is that, by the time they found the dragon balls, it would be too late. They have three years!...
