Re: Dragon Ball Z 4:3 Steelbooks
I ha e the first three and I'm almost through the first set. The 4:3 alone is enough to make this worth it for me. This is the best non-Japanese release that'll likely be finished and not cancelled part way through and it's worth every penny I paid for it. If you're still waiting on something better...

Re: Dragon Ball Z 4:3 Steelbooks
Wow! Seasons 4 and 5 are being dropped only a month after Seasons 1-3! That's incredible and my wallet is gonna hate me for it! I wonder if they'll do 6 and 7 in January then 8 and 9 in February? Either way, it'll be nice to have an official 4:3 release on my shelves again even if it's no better tha...

Re: Would you pay Funimation via Kickstarter for a redub of the full Dragon Ball media
To answer the original question, if it did happen I would absolutely give it a watch. If Funimation, without my prompting them, came up with this idea on their own I'd contribute some money to help make it happen. However, I'd never go out of my own way to try and make them offer this. Their current...

Re: Hardcore wuxia fans, what are the biggest similarities and differences between the genre and Dragon Ball?
Because I hav way more knowledge of Hong Kong cinema than I do Wuxia, I always start off folks who like Dragon Ball ad want something more with a list that looks like this: • Return of the Dragon (aka Way of the Dragon) • 36th Chamber of Shaolin (watch the sequels, too!) • Drunken Master (the origin...

Re: Hardcore wuxia fans, what are the biggest similarities and differences between the genre and Dragon Ball?
There is a very awesome thread where all the details you're looking for are broken down. Personally, I'm more of a Golden Harvest fan so I'm more familiar with the likes of Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee, but I would suggest that you watch the 36th Chamber of Shaolin trilogy and then maybe follow it up w...

Re: Dragon Ball Z 4:3 Steelbooks
I wanna watch the show in HD, and we'll probably never get it properly... So I pre-ordered the non-steelbook version of season 1... I think Manga already confirmed they're just the same discs as the 30th Box anyway. This makes the most sense to me; it saves a LOT of money to literally re-use the sa...

Re: Dragon Ball Z 4:3 Steelbooks
They're not even advertising this release in the US. A fan just kinda found it and now we're talking about it on our own. Theres no way anything new is on here.

Re: Dragon Ball Z 4:3 Steelbooks
So... the limited edition... set... was... just for the box, book, and Goku figure? Alright, whatever. Just means I don't have to wait around to get these as they release nine of them over a two-year time period. Still can't help but feel a bit dicked around by Funimation. Just to be clear, Funi: I...

Re: Manga UK Releasing DBZ Blu-Rays and Steelbooks
If the regular ones pop up at a lower price in the US I might change my pre-order but if Steelbooks are my only option I'll still be alright with it.

Re: Dragon Ball Z 4:3 Steelbooks
It’s really dumb that I’m considering these, mainly because I have all of Kai and am happy enough to keep the English dub of that. I do like the look of the steelbooks though. Also they need to release DBS Seasons and not sets dangit. Been waiting for that instead of another release of Z. Do whatev...

I dont dislike any of these. The raw, the 30th, and the color corrections all look great!

Re: Dragon Ball Z 4:3 Steelbooks
If I go to a movie theater and buy a ticket for a certain movie, I don't consider it a "win" if the theater remembers to play the correct movie, because it's the obvious bare-minimum thing to do. Similarly, I don't consider 4:3 DBZ releases to be a "win". The show is 4:3 so of c...

Re: Dragon Ball Z 4:3 Steelbooks
Man the prices for those steelbooks are gonna be insane in Canada smh. Why is funimation making them so expensive for? Its literally the same remaster as the 2014 Blu Rays Because to them 4:3 DBZ is a hot, rare commodity and is so special that they just have to charge so much because it's so valuab...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
They're going to milk this for all its worth, aren't they ? If it gets a standard release after this hopefully it replaces the 16:9 Blu-rays and that's kind of a good thing! This release: 4:3 DNR'd to hell Next release 16:9 with grain  You've got it all wrong This Release: 4:3 DNR'd to Hell wi...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
It says on amazon that it's a limited release steelbook edition, so you'll probably have to wait for a regular release sometime later, again They're going to milk this for all its worth, aren't they ? If it gets a standard release after this hopefully it replaces the 16:9 Blu-rays and that's kind o...

Re: Dragon Ball Z 4:3 Steelbooks
I've seen nothing to suggest that they are limited, but there was nothing "limited edition" about the Dragon Box, either, until they stopped printing some of the earlier volumes in the middle of its run. When everyone was like, "What the heck, Funi" they were like, "Oh, we d...
