Re: Vic Mignogna
This isn't necessary. When you're combative and start assigning labels, people are less likely to consider your perspective. I feel like we can broach this subject with the nuance and empathy it deserves. We're all people here. I stand by what I said whether people consider my perspective or not. M...

The idiots in this thread that are preaching "innocent until proven guilty" are EXACTLY why so many victims of sexual harassment are too afraid to ever come forward.

Is the Westwood dub obtainable anymore in any way?
Is the Westwood dub obtainable anymore in any way or is it pretty much lost media at this point? Please PM me if anyone knows a source where I can get it if possible. If not, I'm probably going to add it to the Lost Media Wiki.

Re: Why do English-speaking fans belittle the non-FUNimation dubs?
They basically tried to turn DBZ into a cartoon. Huge, unforgivable mistake. I am so fucking tired of this ridiculous argument and it's one that's been going on since the DBZ Uncensored days 20 years ago. ALL animes are already cartoons and DB was already a children's cartoon in Japan long before F...

Re: Sean Schemmel IN DEPTH interview Part 2
Back in the summer, Geekdom101 did Part 1 of this interview, Part 2 was just released yesterday. A lot of detailed stuff here but also hard to follow. Sean loves to talk and he jumps around all over the place but the stuff he says about Ian and Peter is really interesting. The details he also gives ...

Re: The FULL version of the infamous DBZ French opening
The show wasn't made for 3 year olds. It doesn't fit the tone or the age range they were aiming for at all. The track sounds like something from Barney or Teletubbies. Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT were all made for kids regardless if it was specifically 3 years old or 6 years old. ...

Re: The FULL version of the infamous DBZ French opening
The one for the original Dragon Ball fits pretty well since the tone of DB is much lighter. The Blue Water dub we got in Canada actually uses an English version of that too. The one for DBZ is awful though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVrVTinOsBw I don't understand the hate it gets in the commen...

Re: Dragonball Super The Anime isn't returning
I hope it doesn't come back. Did more damage to the legacy of the franchise than helped it. Lazily written, terrible animation, and just an overall poor product.

The FULL version of the infamous DBZ French opening
I found the full near-3 minute version of the infamous intro for the french dub of DBZ. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHNLtZh3g1A I love seeing shit like this. It's terrible and corny but still so cool seeing different interpretations of the show from around the world. The french version was used ...

DBZ Uncensored 2 is gone.
http://www.animecauldron.com/dbzuncensored2/ The website is kaput. The original DBZ Uncensored is still, somehow, online after all these years but it's all that's left from that era in time. DBZ Uncensored 2 came afterwards and was run by the same guy who ran the DBZOA. Years ago, I was pretty criti...

Re: Dragon Ball Kai Green Tint
Kei17 was a Japanese user who had at least one stack of the original broadcast tapes. He bolted sometime before the first leak, and the way things are going I doubt he'll return anytime soon He was knowledgeable and had a lot of rare stuff (including the first episode of harmony gold Dragon Ball) b...

Re: Dragon Ball Kai Green Tint
the main thing was he was afraid of was Toei getting on his ass about this stuff. Which I understand to be a valid concern, as apparently Toei are pretty awful about this stuff. If he sincerely was that concerned about it, he wouldn't have even shared it with anyone let alone make backups of it. If...

That screenshot has nothing to do with DBZ, that was one of the bumpers for YTV at the time. Everything had an alien theme.TheBlackPaladin wrote:Either way, that's certainly.......interesting......artwork.

Re: Funimation and swearing
Just something I was thinking about. At least in the early days Funimation seemed to be pretty damn wussy about even the most mild of swears in their uncut products back in the day. It was mostly a bunch of darns and bite me and friggin. Then oddly enough you had Dende’s infamous “Don’t piss off th...

I watched it when it aired at the time. The nosebleed was uncut. The Krillin/Bulma part was edited. So how exactly did they explain the nosebleed? He just shows up and squirts out a nose bleed...? I don't remember what but I know there was something that caused the nosebleed. I do think the Bulma/K...

Re: Between the Funimation dub of Kai and their dub of Super, which would you say is better?
The Funimation cast just seem incredibly bored and mentally checked out from Dragon Ball overall. The DB Super dub came across as the cast just trying to entertain themselves and it's fucking pathetic. And people had the nerve to attack the Filipino English dub. That dub wasn't perfect by any means...
