Orange (just like with some fan creations with SSJG) with Kaio Ken would look awful. Blue is much better. A much better pallete of colors to choose from. Evolved Blue is an example of that and the Kaio Ken proves that Blue was needed for the contrast.

Well, it is a bit off, but he was able to use Kaio Ken on top of Blue against Cumber and in the Manga, I think that after the fusion ends against Merged Zamasu, Vegeta comments that Vegito could use Perfected Super Saiyan Blue, despite Goku being the only one to have access to that form.

About Potential Unleashed. In my opinion, when going "Ultimate" you might not be able to use any SSJ forms, because the Anime did an excellent work with providing us the piece of info we needed (at least I needed it).
