Re: Dragon Ball Z 4:3 Steelbooks

They should use Gamer for 1-67 (matching the Ultimate Uncut Edition for 1-27... and presumably for 28-67, since those are missing in their original forms), and Bajoran for 68-291 (matching the original dub broadcast).

Re: Dragon Ball Rewatch, Week 43 - DBZ movie 2 (CURRENT WEEK)

Noticed that you mentioned the Big Green dub of this movie, one scene I can always remember from that version is when Bulma is asked "Who is the strongest in the world?", the actors manage to say "Son Goku" in 3 slightly different ways it's just strange. Though my real biggest q...

Re: Are There Any Updates On The Harmony Gold Dub Of Dragon Ball?

Are you planning on placing the online encodes of Zero y El Dragon Magico ep 2-4 (1 and 5 weren't uploaded) and the double feature as a second audio track? More importantly, do you think you'll still be able to find them, as I think the Facebook page that originally hosted them got shut didn't?

Re: DBZ Speedy Dub episodes

They did at least six volumes, about two episodes each. Then they stopped in favor of importing Saban and Funi Z. Before vol 4 was uploaded, people thought the Speedy VCDs of the series were only Saban and Funi, to the point of an admin closing a thread over it. Some of these used to be sold on eBay...

What were the lyrics to m424ext anyway? It's seldom (if ever) translated in subs.

Re: How different would the dub be if Funimation was still with Saban?

Let's say Funi never dropped Saban until at least after Z ended, and that Funi never dropped the Ocean cast until at least the same. You'd have a consistent dub from beginning to end, something that never happened in English (ignoring Kai). In addition, it's possible Pioneer might have done that unc...

Spain*. I don't think France released their Blu-rays for DB/Z/GT yet. If we're lucky we'll get a new HD or 4K master from film. In any case, France has aired the DNR'd Toei HD master of the classic films (uncensored?).

Re: Is THIS a good reason to "skip" db?

Is there a way to watch kai? Even though I can't speak German, apparently the German Kai dub has a more accurate script than the Z dub... but worse acting (along with wholesale actor replacement for at least the first half, people apparently screaming softly or away from the mic or something, etc)

Re: DBZ Creative Products/Filipino Dub "Greatest Rivals" HQ

As someone who's had an interest in rare dubs for a while, I would love to see these get a release. The last few years brought us a large amount of previously missing content (Harmony Gold dub, Filipino Z movies 10-11, watchable encodes of Filipino Z movies 5-6, clips of the test version of BLT DB M...

Re: Comparison shots from every single DBZ release

It's also worth noting that The Final Chapters ALSO had its music replaced with Sumitomo's work on BoG, RoF and Super, but similar to Kai there's not nearly enough tracks to offset it feeling repetitive. What are you talking about? I was under the impression that The Final Chapters (and the Japanes...

Re: Is it fair to say that Dragon Ball is no longer marketed to kids in North America?

the Dragon Ball anime's often gotten off lightly from the BBFC; the first 74 episodes of DBZ (up until Ginyu's defeat) are only PGs, as is DBS Broly and most of Super (which was later heavily redubbed and edited for TV). What do your mean, "heavily" redubbed? I was under the impression th...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Unfortunately, it still isn't. There's still some acting replacements (Dale Kelly's narrator is probably the biggest example), along with some missing vocal filters, some alternate Faulconer placement, different takes from the original recording sessions, new dialogue from the original recording ses...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

If by broadcast version you mean it has the respective Johnson and Faulconer replacement scores, then sure, it does. If by broadcast version you mean the audio mix the singles used transferred from the finalized masters, complete with the original actors and acting instead of the partial redubs and ...

Re: Dragon Ball Rewatch, Week 22 - DB episode 96-100 (CURRENT WEEK)

Personally, I'm hoping the rewatch is based on Z. It's the better production (Japanese wise at least), and the original run of the show. Perhaps it takes a while to get through, but it doesn't have the issue of cutting too much one moment and too little the next, or those redrawn scenes. Besides, it...

Re: Unreleased "Vendar" English dub of Dead Zone (Funimation/Ocean, 1996)

This reminds me of the World of Dragon Ball Z special that Funi did. Most of it contains clips from either BLT DB, Saban DBZ, or in-house Funi DBZ... however, there's one moment (4:15-4:31 on a certain youtube upload) with what appears to be a clip of DB ep 16 where Roshi runs really fast, to Goku's...

Re: Dragon Ball Rewatch, Week 20 - DB episode 86-90 (CURRENT WEEK)

As for Lunch, I believe that Toriyama just dropped the character altogether. He probably just didn't particularly care for her. Plus with Chichi's return it may have been one too many women to write in his mind. I don't want that to be true, but Toriyama's handling of female characters is godawful ...
