Re: Fighting maneuvers in Dragonball make no sense
It does matter though, as pulling back just lets you strengthen it further. No, I'm saying if they didn't gain significant power output from pulling back, they wouldn't. So, whether you can charge the punch with ki or not, you still want to pull it back and throw it again, as opposed to just pushin...

Re: Fighting maneuvers in Dragonball make no sense
But that wall can only block one punch at once - once it moves to block another, the first one can keep going. It's not the the alien has to pull his fist back if his punch doesn't connect. Yes, the attacker can re-push his fist from the point it was stopped but it would be so weak there's no point...

Re: Fighting maneuvers in Dragonball make no sense
That doesn't really make sense unless you assume that each block is also applying a repelling force, i.e. pushing the punch back, but in the animation we can see he is just holding his finger in front of them. Maybe it would help you to imagine Beerus' finger as an unbreakable wall. He doesn't have...

Re: Fighting maneuvers in Dragonball make no sense
Think about this for a minute. It doesn't matter how much faster the defender is than the attacker, because their finger still can't be in more than one place at once. Say the alien throws a punch at Beerus, then Beerus blocks it with his finger. The alien then throws another punch with another han...

Re: General Fan Fiction Thread
Making a good story with him as the central character? Not plot device, but character? Can only have him smash so many people before it just becomes tedious. Unless you mean inserting a personality that is essentially Vegeta when he was redeeming himself. What I mean is that rewriting Broly with ju...

Re: General Fan Fiction Thread
So, trying to get more out characterizing Broly is not easy right now, with him as a central character. I would have to disagree with this. I find writing a decent version of Broly relatively simple... Making a good story with him as the central character? Not plot device, but character? Can only h...

Re: General Fan Fiction Thread
I've been thinking about writing a story about an alternate history where Broly is picked up by Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz shortly after Planet Vegeta's destruction. I would have a prologue or a chapter or two detailing how it happened and everything else, and then start right where the Saiyan Arc s...

Re: Really specific Time machine question
A character leaves the present and travels to the future. Situation 1: In the future, they discover that after they left the present they were never seen again. - If they die before returning or simply live on in the future; no paradox is created. A single timeline. - If they return to the present t...

Re: What would Cell looks like if he achieved a SSJ4 kind of transformation ?
There are so many things to consider with this, so I understand the difficulty you would have with it. Personally, after mulling over it for far too long, I came to the following conclusion: - His "crown" would fold back over his head (think somewhere between Hit's head and Freeza's) - His...

From the lack of participation in this thread I would say it is not unreasonable to asume that not many people are interested on it. And I don't blame you; as I said in the first message, most of the content is far from interesting. Nevertheless, I still find Toriyama's section pretty interesting, ...

Was it ever fully explained how the process of Kami or Dendi becoming the guardian of the Earth works? It was, God dies, and Dende was appointed as the new God. There's really nothing more to it. Anyone else have ideas that stretch the accepted "cannon" of Dragonball pretty far? I'm going back and forth on the possibility of Cell attaining a sort of bastardized Oozaru form As long as you can justify it cleanly, you can do basically anything. ...and I'd hope Cell's Oozaru would be ...

Re: 2 more levels to ssj4 theory
SSJ4 is, as you said, completely different to SSJ.
...so why would it follow a similar path?
Also, you have to go through Golden Oozaru to achieve it, so wouldn't it count as a "level 2" transformation by your standards?
