Re: World Building
I really can't other than exploring those 12 universes, but like I wrote, they're just new locations. What do you want this to lead to? You wrote "new routes for the story to go" but that's vague. They can’t be that vague to where you can’t even get a slim idea of what I’m taking about. A...

Re: World Building
All it is is new locations to fight, but that's mere variations on a theme. And when you say we got little information, that sounds like mere exposition, not character. Are you looking for backstory? What are you looking for? It took over 400 episodes to get to the idea of 12 universes. How long do...

Re: World Building
Battle of Gods introduced us to the concept of 12 universes, but nothing has been done with it aside from a poorly written tournament. We have gotten little information on either Beerus, Whis, or the other Gods of Destruction during Super’s tenor, and the world building we did get were recycled Z st...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
There are whole new universes, there are more gods, there's angels, god ki. All this stuff has happened in Super. How is Super lacking in world building? Almost six years later they have done practically absolutely nothing with, yes, what amazing worldbuilding and lore expansion. It's a significant...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Lord of the Rings slows to a damn crawl for world building and exposition. Much of it adds NOTHING to the story except page count. I guess that's to be expected given Tolkien created the stories of Middle-earth for his Elvish language to exist in instead of the other way around. Good worldbuilding ...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
It's definitely not, DB's is worldbuilding is bare and bland, and that is your opinion and exposition is great as long as it's used right. Besides, worldbuilding isn't just exposition. It is what it needs to be in order to tell a very simple story. More than that and it slows things to a crawl. Exp...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Sadly I don't think that will happen any sooner. Toriyama himself acknowledges that DB is basically just fighting, so if not Toyotaro, he might not really be interesting of introducing things beyond that. I hope not, otherwise, the DB universe would stay extremely boring and flat. Hopefully, the ne...

Re: Characters you wish were completely removed from Super/sequels
He was one who free Buu, becasue he didnt want to hurt Vegeta I'm pretty sure it was Vegeta's fault, after all, he did kill a stadium full of citizens and knocked out Goku once Buu was freed, even though Goku wanted to team up to stop him. pride, and then had nerve to force Goten and Trunks to hand...

Re: Did anyone else found the ToP Android 17 forced and unappealing?
What does it mean to have a character, espically a pasted established character returning back, seem forced onto an audience?! I don't think it matters whether they're established or not, as constantly shoving in one character to make the story flow a certain way doesn't make for a well-written sto...

Re: Did anyone else found the ToP Android 17 forced and unappealing?
Definitely, it's the same reason why I no longer like FT Trunks as much, continually forcing a character onto the audience and into the story especially in scenes they have no place being in is one of fastest ways to get me to dislike them.

Re: Characters you wish were completely removed from Super/sequels
Problem i have with Goku, is that, in my opinion, he became worse, Kid Goku was also naive and Innocent and wanted to fight strong guys, but he was never an asshole who would let go someone so he can fight him again, or free powerful enemy, and have nerve to say that "new generation should han...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread
Debating DBS power scaling is dumb; these writers never can remain consistent with their dumb lore. Retconning power levels left and right, having numerous characters leapfrogging hundreds to hundreds of thousands of time stronger out of nowhere, or establishing an unintentional trend of throwaway ...

Re: Vic Mignogna
Vic is already guilty of sexual assault, there's videos and images of this stuff that are pretty irrefutable, and him saying "I'll try to be better" is basically admitting it. The question is mostly just how guilty he is. Can you link these videos and images? And him say "I'll try to...

I'm pretty sure if he gets his magic power he will be, DB is all about linear progression- the next villain being stronger than the last.

Re: Why Battle of Gods will always be the BEST Dragon Ball Movie EVER!
Battle of Gods is still at the top of the list for films that have a lasting impact on the series. Aside from nice action and animation, DBS Broly's story felt incomplete as well as lacking in some aspects, which is to be expected since the movie was made for the aim of cashing in on fanservice. Whe...

Re: What Would Be The Greatest Blow To A Saiyan's Pride?
I think SupremeKai got it right; a humiliating defeat would be the worst blow to a Saiyan's pride, after all, they're warriors, and all they do is fight. Just look at when pro fighters in real life lose a match, some of them drop on their knees and start crying or cover their heads in shame. While b...

Re: What Bardock do you prefer?
They were never that meaningful given that they were used as a plot device to subvert expectations. When was it stated his power rivaled King Vegeta's? What scene specifically did they state this or his battle power? The only one I remember is . Even so, so what? It doesn't take away anything from ...
