Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

When Moro regained his full power and magic and left Namek triumphant, Vegeta mentioned that they could still defeat him with Super Saiyan Blue - the problem is that they had no way to counter Moro's energy absorption. The story makes a distinction between Moro's full magic power and his full physi...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

In the mid part i would redirect more focuss to the training and bound Merus - Goku (as it makes Merus sacrifice more compelling) I didn't particularly have a problem with the Merus-Goku throughline. A large chunk of Chapter 51, a chunk of 52, a few pages in 53/54, and another sizeable portion of 5...

The fastest way to grind to level 300 is mindlessly exterminating schmucks in the Valor Trial, and it really is as monotonous as it sounds. If you have Self Medication equipped, you practically can't lose.

Oh, and as I feared, they patched out the free-roam transformation glitch.

Re: I think its time to admit that Toyotaro is a terrible writer.

If the anime ever adapts the Moro arc, it hasn't run its course until we see what's different between the anime and manga version. Two things, bud: 1. I'm talking about the thread, which ran its course some time ago. It was created by a user that posted dishonest propositions, constantly made ad ho...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

We'd have a better idea had it been registered by Toei or Bandai, but due to it being registered by Shueishia (however you spell it), it could be anything from a new movie to a new dish set. Shueisha is the top dog in DB rights holding, so it really could be nothing in the literal sense of the word...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

A (kinda dark) thought just came to my mind: Since by EoZ nobody there except Goku and Dende knows of Uub, it means that the donator of God Ki will remain a secret to the Z-Fighters. Which means that Uub will still have to live in poverty for years to come despite saving Earth, otherwise Bulma and ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Chapter's a bit too similar to the Boo arc's climax for my liking, beyond just the art this time - which is where I draw the line in terms of Super echoing prior material - but I'll let it slide because there's some good stuff in here, and I appreciate the angle with Oob being the one to participate...

Re: "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" Official Discussion Thread

Remember there was a Broly mention in the files, I think he may be a secret boss in DLC3 even if it won't be about him. Now which one, hard to say. As far as I know, nothing hints at Broly. Dataminers found "If only we could use the Dragon Balls to take Broly down..." in the text files, b...

Re: "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" Official Discussion Thread

I think hackers found files that indicate it'll be the Future Trunks arc. Yeah, I remember that. Something about a website listing "Future Trunks Arc: Hope!!" as the final part, which probably alludes to the arc in Super? Personally I'd rather have a completely unique story with something...

Re: "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" Official Discussion Thread

Other than having an actual story this time, the bulk of content isn't too far off from what DLC 1 provides. Again, it's good for what it is -- we were promised engaging bosses for the first two releases (the third will be a fleshed-out story arc, whatever that might be) and we got 'em. Golden Freez...

Re: The Super Re-Read

Just want to add how much I liked Goku suddenly returning to the group with Freeza so late, all bruised and bloodied. It's an amusing punchline on its own, but also effectively instills some worry about how someone as scummy as Freeza could possibly relate to the arc's central idea of teamwork. You ...

Re: Goku after Super

I don't know if this will be a satisfying answer for the topic, but personally, the more I think about a hypothetical story concerning Goku and Oob, the less I actually want it. The original manga's epilogue befits a cast that largely does good things by consequence instead of doing those things for...

Re: So is Vegeta the new Piccolo?

Lots of really stale takes in this thread from people who don't understand what a character role is. To have a role is to contribute to the underlying story and its progression; characters can do this from the sidelines, they can do it in humiliating situations, they can do it while losing, they can...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

What is that? I'll probably mention it on the 20th. I don't think it's fair of me to criticize or praise a chapter before I can read all 45 of its pages, so I'll just say the preview doesn't enthuse me and leave it at that. On to the broader topic right now, as far as what big daddy Grande Padre wa...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

As usual, I'll reserve my thoughts for the chapter's release and wait until we get the full context, but I'm very much not impressed with the drafts this month. There's one thing in particular regarding Whis that irritates the hell out of me, and I'm pretty much just waiting for all this stuff to ge...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

I would like this to be the case, but how do you fit blue fusions being about as strong as Beerus into things? Fusion massively inflates strength levels whenever it appears, and is always stated to be much more than just the two powers combined. Disregarding guidebooks, I think there's enough wiggl...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

I presume this as well honestly. I got the impression (in the manga anyhow) the gaps aren't supposed to be massive anymore, but rather gradual shifts toward/surpassing the strongest fighters introduced throughout the serires. I especially got that impression after re-reading all the material from t...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

Beerus is a moving goal post. However you interpret Beerus' strength, I don't think that's necessarily true at all. In the previous arc's exhibition match, Goku was in complete awe of the Hakaishin and their power. Vegeta's then-completed Blue was strong enough to force Beerus to get serious, but w...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

That being said, Beerus suggesting he could intervene at all certainly suggests a level of strength far above what initially seemed to be the case. I'd always assumed he could intervene. Beerus knows things that Goku either doesn't know (his sealing technique, for example) or isn't as proficient wi...
