I wonder what tomorrow’s news from Manga UK will be? I doubt they can make it region free and I don’t think it’ll be surprise extras that they got at the last minute (they’ve said their disc does not have any extras because they weren’t given any).
...could it be...the subs...!?

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
And, the crowning moment of awful of this release was the fact it was made limited edition. Making a release "Collectible" simply means anyone who wants to enjoy its contents but didn't have the money in the window of a few months it was out, or didn't know about it until months later, is...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" FUNimation Home Release Thread
Hmm...seems FUNi removed the "Vic Mignogna Answers Your Questions" featurette from the discs & whatever parts he must've recorded for the "Interview with the Cast of Dragon Ball Super: Broly" featurette. In fact, it seems like they got Jason Douglas &/or Ian Sinclair to ...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
Boy it’s sure going to be weird having two Broly steelbooks on my shelf now, one FUNi one Manga UK. If only you didn’t fuck it up as badly as you did, FUNimation. I did think about picking up the Japanese release too for the artbook, but it’s too damn expensive (over $105) to buy the same movie a th...

There's an anime con happening again at the Meadowlands Exposition Center? I can't go, but oh man does that take me back.

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
FUNimation has the NEP clips because they were using them back in the early 2000s when DBZ was airing. I was only 9 or 10 but I specifically remember them being shown. You're talking about Funimation's "Next time on DRAGON BALL ZEEEEEEE!" previews, right? Were those even based on the Japa...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
I don’t have Falcouner DBZ which is an occasional guilty nostalgia trip for me, and I don’t want to hunt down all the DVD singles (and the Trunks ones with the driving episode etc. are impossible to find anyway), so I guess there’s my reason for keeping it. I don’t want it in widescreen. Fuck it.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" FUNimation Home Release Thread
It's up for pre-order from best buy and rightstuf. What is usually considered the best place to preorder these from? I preordered Part 7 from Amazon and it came on release day in perfect shape, but I've been having really dodgy experiences with broken cases, clips, and therefore scratched discs fro...

Re: English Movie Titles - TOEI Vs. FUNimation
I can understand why they changed the titles because they needed something that sounds more marketable. What really bothers me is when they not only don't display the proper title when you play the films in Japanese, but they straight up cover or replace the titles. I don't like pointless edits in ...

Re: The Broli movie will use dub names in its subtitles, at Toei's request. Could this become the new "standard"?
Well, that's some good news I suppose. I'm still just more concerned about the future of Dragon Ball home media than I am this one movie though. If this is going to be the new standard here, I'll be more than happy to continue importing from the UK now that I know I can do it. I'll finish out my FU...

Bad news. The Manga UK Version also uses Dub Names in the Subtitles. https://www.twitter.com/MangaUK/status/1117790594552692738 On the plus side, the Manga UK guy I know informed me that they fixed the mistranslated Paragus line I reported! Re: The Broli movie will use dub names in its subtitles, at Toei's request. Could this become the new "standard"?
I went to Amazon UK and successfully placed an order for the steelbook, even though it's Region B. I'll figure it out, I'll get a different Blu-ray player that's region free, I don't know. All I know is that I've tolerated a lot, but I don't want a fucking green movie for no reason. Fuck that.

Re: Theories of why TOEI remastered the Movies & Specials but not the Series?
If I can't buy it without subtitles (which it won't have), I don't really care about a Toei remaster - especially if it's going to be censored like the movies were. I don't want to buy imported Blu-rays, pay for the crazy shipping that will likely come with them, and not even have subtitles and cens...

Re: The Broli movie will use dub names in its subtitles, at Toei's request. Could this become the new "standard"?
Apparently the Manga UK release won't have green tint. Maybe I should buy a region free (or at least A and B) Blu-ray player and import their releases from now on, or just pirate the damn movie if they're going to keep screwing it up. Supporting the official release is becoming more and more difficu...

I would’ve accepted Kai Blu-rays being 16:9, that’s how it was presented. But Z, that we have to do 16:9. It makes no sense.

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
This release is gonna be dragon boxes 2.0 Not even close. In terms of cost on the secondary market, it's possible just because of the limited number. It won't reach $1,000 like the Dragon Boxes, but I could see it hitting around $500. Rock the Dragon surprisingly took off in value after it left the...

Re: The Broli movie will use dub names in its subtitles, at Toei's request. Could this become the new "standard"?
Shit.. green tint and the known dubnames? They really want fans to almost do the releases practically themselves, for free. Piracy is frowned upon but the "pirates" can at times do a much better job than distributors do. @ Kinokima You kind of implied it. Like I said, if I own the Blu-ray...
