Re: Instant Transmission Vs. Time Skip
I'm the kind of guy who tends to trust official explanations over animation, which is done by many different people and often inconsistent. So I go with the manga and databook explanation that the teleportation is literally instantaneous. It's worth keeping in mind that the guidebooks are just join...

Here is the Dragon Ball World Hierarchy based on the latest Announcements and episodes of Super and all the Dragon Ball history as we know it. http://s32.postimg.org/6d8a5adb9/Sin_t_tulo.jpg Full quality image: http://postimg.org/image/vonlmxrz5/full/ Galactic King? Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #41]
I think there's some truth in that. If I were to posit a guess, I'd say that a sequence like the Zarama summoning went wrong at a very early stage. There was, most likely, more or less no detail in the storyboarding whatsoever. The whole thing smacks of being a composite of half-cocked ideas and dir...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #41]
I just watched last night's One Piece which features a similarly important character reveal. Of course that gets an incredible Shida cut to do it justice. The difference between the two productions really is astounding. Yeah, I know what you mean. I watch One Piece straight after Super, and knowing...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #41]
Aw man, they totally flubbed the Zarama summoning. That was awful - I've honestly seen better use of static assets in Powerpoint presentations. I get the need to conserve drawings and the time issue - but that was just cringe-worthy; if some of that doesn't count as an 'animation breakdown' then I h...

Re: SSJB Goku(Vegeta) vs. Beerus: the same effects?
I think the whole Universe-busting stuff in Super was just added narrative fluff to interject some superficial drama into the fight. As far as in-Universe consistency goes, I think that's even addressed in the script by Elder Kaioshin's uncertainty over how long the Universe could withstand Goku and...

Re: Does Anybody Collect The S.H. Figuarts DBZ Figures?
Are these drastically different than the Figuarts ZERO line(Freeza, Gotenks, Pure Buu)? From what I can tell, the only noteworthy difference is that ZERO figures come with plastic ki effects. Figuarts Zero are more detailed sculptures but are fixed-pose models. S.H. Figuarts are opposable and custo...

Re: Does Anybody Collect The S.H. Figuarts DBZ Figures?
I dunno, either way, the inconsistency is annoying for someone as anal as me who collects them, keeps them within their packaging, and enjoys uniformity for display purposes. If they had just rolled out the new packing for a specific range - such as the 'Super' branded figures, or even for the 'Prem...

Nope - Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Vegeta is coming in the old packaging.WhiskersTheWonderCat wrote: I assumed that new sculpts receive the new style of package, but rereleases and recolors only receive a variation of the old style of package.

Re: Episode #0402 (24 April 2016)
But yeah, I totally think that someone has missed a beat in not considering 'Super Cyan' - but hey, English word-play probably didn't come into the thinking - but even the fact that they went with the English word for 'Blue' seems a little odd. I don't see that as odd, it's rather consistent with h...

Re: Does Anybody Collect The S.H. Figuarts DBZ Figures?
I keep up-to-date with every release, but I'm not overly fussed on chasing up historic releases that I missed (such as Super Saiyan 3 Goku or the Comic Con Exclusives) due to the ridiculous scalper market. I have gripes, though. I haven't been impressed with the recent 'premium color' re-releases, a...

Re: Will we ever learn who Beerus have meant?
The whole 'second strongest' thing was meant to be a door-opening remark (and by implication, a hint at Whis' strength), but it has just turned out to be another outlier. I enjoy how Toriyama has made a joke out of it by throwing Monaka in there, but with the existence of Champa and Vados, it's fair...

Re: Episode #0402 (24 April 2016)
I enjoyed the episode and don't really have anything to add to the way that you've broken the issue down. 'Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan' has always occurred to me as being a description rather than a title - which made the re-naming seem inevitable from a branding/merchandise point of view. That sa...

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Gohan and Videl don't need steady jobs. We know Mr.Satan payed for their house, we also see Videl buying Gohan a book. Nobody is mentioned having a job, Videl probably lives of her father and Gohan just goes to college. I mean...Gohan had a "conference", which implies a job. Conference co...

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Like Gyt said, I think Toriyama is road-mapping the anime with a general plot direction and character designs. Said roadmap is also something that Toyotaro is being provided with separately, but Toriyama seems to be reviewing his manga. I'm not sure if I can say the same about anime storyboards, tho...

Re: Instant Transmission Vs. Time Skip
I think Shunkan Idō could have been used by Goku to counter Hit - and I'm sort of surprised as to why it wasn't. Although I understand that a level of focus and concentration is required for Goku to use the technique, I think, at the very least, it would have been a useful method of evasion to put d...

Re: Why doesn't Crunchyroll air DBSuper?
Dragonball's worldwide licensing situation is old and convoluted. Unlike something like One Piece, where both Funimation and Crunchyoll have separate simcast agreements, the mesh of threads and red tape around Dragonball across the various territories is not so easily unpicked.

Well, this has esculated quickly! I'm both surprised and excited - surprised that we're delving further and higher into the Universe mythology, and excited for this next sojourn into foreign pastures. I admit that I did have a niggling feeling that the tournament itself was a little bit anti-climati...

Interesting titles! If I were to make some quick predictions: Episode 42 - I presume a gag episode? Maybe Goku finally challenges Monaka, and finally learns the truth in a hilarious fashion? Episode 43 - Kinda self-explanatory - a Gohan family slice of life episode? Episode 44 - No Idea. Episode 45 ...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #39]
Firstly, I absolutely agree that I would love to have Yamamuro as a regular supervisor, simply because his draconian approach to supervision would certainly help a lot of the far less talented staff working on the series. As much I dislike his character designs ( god, they're not what they were ), ...
