Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
I just noticed episode 54 lists Penguin Village as being visited by Cell. Poor Arale. Poor Senbei. POOR EVERYONE! To be fair, Arale can't exactly be absorbed. Now, she might have got blasted...but given the girl can split the Earth in half with a punch, I imagine she's fine...though not so sure abo...

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Poor Krillin doesn't get any credit but Gotenks does. At this point, Krillin is the Charlie Brown of the DBZ universe. When he goes out Trick or Treating, all he gets are rocks. That said, I'm glad we're back to the tournament. Gast vs Raichi and his army of clones should be interesting. At the ver...

Re: Masako Nozawa has nailed the voice of Goku Black
Honestly, I'd have a problem with this voice either way. Sean makes for a great Goku now, but the game's voice for Black sounds vaguely like he's channeling Old Snake from MGS4. A little more fitting for a withered, already somewhat grizzled voiced soldier...less so for Black. I believe they'll fix ...

Re: Masako Nozawa has nailed the voice of Goku Black
Don't forget, Super Saiyan God's first appearance in a game was a lot more gruff than it turned out to be. They'd probably hammer out the details better once they work on Super and see where it's going. Have faith in the FUNimation of today. Masako Nozawa's Black? Yeah, that's a fantastic role. I mu...

Re: Original In-house Funi Dub fans, why do you like it?
Well, I was young when I liked it. It got better as I got older, but after it ended...I kept growing, and reached the point of expecting more. Kai really was my saving grace because, for all of their faults early on...I loved many of the voice actors we had in the FUNi dub (took me a bit to get used...

Re: What do you think about Sean schemmel deleting his twitter?
It's still pretty sad that this of all things lead him to get frustrated... So the fans like your work and want to see more of it, so what? Try to see it from his perspective. The average person can get fairly annoyed by one person bugging you about something you can't talk about. Now make that a t...

Re: What do you think about Sean schemmel deleting his twitter?
I've had many friends when we've told one another to fuck off (both jokingly and in the occasional moment of frustration), but it's seldom something that sticks as a malicious point (even on the rare occasion where one is mad at the other). Different people handle frustrating situations differently....

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming...
I was brought up on a strange mix of one VHS fansub, video games, Z reruns, and Kai's Android Arc. The first time I watched the whole series at once, it was the jp voices with subs. I'm very amenable to new voices, I just don't care all that much. Unless the Ocean Dub of Kai simply blows me away, I...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming...
I've just noticed this topic will turn six years old tomorrow. ...Can any dub possibly meet six years worth of hype for those that actually care? Especially when there's a perfectly good English dub of it that's been around for even longer than this topic? There is such a thing as missing your windo...

From what I remember hearing, they just didn't have the time to dub both the game and the special for the release (feel free to correct me if I'm misremembering something).Puto wrote:The remake of Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans was included subtitled with that very same game.

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
A part of me wants to see Bardock: Father of Goku Abridged also updated, if only for fun future seeing bits with what's happening now. But yeah, in the meantime, can't wait for Episode 54 of the series. I imagine Cell's announcement of the Cell Games and Mark "Hercule" Satan's debut are wi...

Re: I am dreading the dub of Super.
What about the upcoming Toonami Asia dub? You think that is going to be problematic at all? Why would it? That would be an English dub for the Southeast Asian market, while the FUNi dub would be for the North American market (plus, they'd probably license things out to Europe and Australia as need ...

Re: EOB or DB MINUS? Which hurt Gokuu's character more?
Episode of Bardock did not hurt Goku in any way whatsoever. Vegeta mentioned a legend once. Whether it was Bardock due to stupid time travel for some reason, or another Saiyan, nothing actually changes for Vegeta's knowledge on the legend, or Goku as a person. DB Minus on the other hand, holy hell....

Re: Filler - were people "spoiled" by Kai?
Super Saiyan God and God of Destruction Beerus were already in the script provided by Yusuke Watanabe. Toriyama kept those concepts, but changed them to fit his vision. Yeah, that's when Beerus (then solely named after Virus) was a lizard who infected the Saiyans with evil, and Super Saiyan God was...

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Sentiment mirrored exactly. These side-arcs don't even feature the most redeeming quality of Multi-Verse: The decent recreation of Toriyama's style. Instead, it's just their usual bland storytelling with different/worse art. I just wish they'd pick more interesting settings for their stories to tel...

But does it? In terms of how the Dragon Ball gods look? I definitely disagree there.Dbzfan94 wrote:I agree with this. SSJ4 looks much more like a god to me.

Re: Filler - were people "spoiled" by Kai?
I blame god ki for that. Who had the bright idea of, "Let's take the strongest characters on the show, multiply their power immensely, and COMPLETELY leave everyone else in the dust"? ...Oh yeah, that was Toriyama's idea. -_- I REALLY don't want Toriyama to be the new George Lucas, but he...

Re: Eduardo Garza Criticized for Keeping Son Goku on BoG
This reminds me of when Sean Schemmel added "Son Goku" to one of his takes of the "I am the Super Saiyan,(Son) Goku!" for the fans, and they ended up keeping that one. Did that get any backlash a few years ago? I can't remember. I personally don't see the problem of addressing Go...

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
I got Volume 1 of Full Color Dragon Ball: Freeza Arc.
I'd post a picture, but Amazon shipped my copy late (for the first time I can recall that happening off the top of my head).
Still, very excited for it. Hoping Viz goes all the way on this one.

Re: "This looks/feels like something out of AF/fanfiction"
Were any of the "SSJ Grade/USSJ/FPSSJ" forms really so different from SSJ1 compared to Golden Freeza and Godku from their prior forms? What about SSJ2? Did the slight hair change and electricity really make that much more of a difference from SSJ1? Say what you will about Golden Freeza, bu...
