Re: Broly's fate

Expecting him to be more sympathetic and die a tragic death in the throes if his unbound power. Think Terra from Teen Titans if you are familiar.

Re: Funi's renaming of the Z movies have caused this issue...

This movie should be titled

Dragon Ball Super: the ultimate deciding super warrior battle between the Saiyans and their incredible foe at the highest stakes possible in all the universes!!!!!!!

Re: Why Can't Goten & Trunks Use SSJ3 Without Being Gotenks?

Throughout the story, in either Toriyama's works or in other media, I cannot recall Goten or Trunks using SSJ3 without fusing into Gotenks: why is that, and why are they never seen even using SSJ2 & the SSJ Grade forms either? They're prodigious, in possession of high potential, and certainly h...

Re: Would y’all like it if Tori rebooted other Z Movie/GT villains?

Not really. Brody in the first film was one of the more fleshed out film villains and he was clearly insanely popular. I get the novelty to Toriyama retouching him up and bringing him into continuity. The GT villains were in a series and given proper time. The rest of the movie villains were way too...

Re: Do you prefer SSJB or SSJ4?

Blue, the color scheme just works and the aura really adds a lot to it. I've always hated SSJ4. It's too busy and tries to hard. It doesn't feel like something that would have been designed if Toriyama was still in the drivers seat. It just feels like glorified fanfiction that some kid would do if t...

Re: Was Raditz wasted potential?

It would have been better to just make Raditz a normal Saiyan. Making him Goku’s brother when it added nothing to the plot or his story inherently made him more intriguing and this more dissapointing overall than he should have been. Goku being an alien should be shock value enough. Secret brother w...

Re: What’s the general consensus on James Marsters’ Zamasu?

He's too good for everyone around him. He's somehow giving a very overblown character a very real(?) performance. It's not an "I'm doing an anime dub right now" performance, if that makes any sense -- it feels like genuine acting. It's very distracting to go from him to Schemmel's Black, ...

Re: Has Super impacted your opinion on GT at all?

I couldn't disagree more with the fan-servicey statement. GT barely had any fan service while Super was built around it. Super brought back Frieza (the most popular DBZ villain of all time) and gave him a massive power boost, gave us 2 of the first female super saiyans in the series, brought back F...

Re: Has Super impacted your opinion on GT at all?

Super made me realize why I always viewed GT as sort of fan servicey. You can tell Toriyama was involved in Super. That charm and that obvious simplicity is missing from GT. Also Super does the characters far better. Goku in Super is far more reminiscent of the Goku from the original series. GT's G...

Re: Would cell have been a better choice?

As far as the popularity thing, in the west Cell is more popular than he is the East. However even in the West for the longest time DBZ was triumvirate of Freeza/Cell/Boo. There was so much iconography of that trio, especially in the dark years where we only got video games. All that said, I think F...

Re: Has Super made you appreciate SSJ3 more?

No because to me, despite how cool SSJ3 was, the point of the form was that Goku spent years in the afterlife training in all sorts of crazy ways with a body that was not of this world to achieve this mythical deity like form and it was not transferable to a real life setting. It was showing what op...

And Gt was only consistently bad in fight scenes. Baby vs Goku is the only remotely compelling fight in the whole series Goku vs Ledgic Goku vs Rildo Goku vs Super 17 Goku&Pan vs Oceanus Shenron Pan vs Haze Shenron Goku vs Eis Shenron Those were all good fights. Especially Goku vs Rildo was ver...

Re: What if there was no Z Split?

Gotcha. Was more misremembering than deliberate revisionist history on my part. :P Take home point still being that DB wasn't given the same exact shot that DBZ was, so the arguments that the Pilaf arc was definitely inherently less able to catch on still ultimately hinge on selectively taking evid...

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 4/16/18!)

It's still a case of the series annoyingly flip flopping it's stance on things. It's okay to be a selfish battle junkie until it arbitrarily isn't anymore and vice versa, it really starts with this arc hard and nothing that follows manages to remedy the problem. The Goku who was angry at #20 for bl...

For news and outright keeping people informed on the series Geekdom is the best.

For analysis it's definitely MistareFusion.

Then obviously TFS for abridged.

I'm sure there's other great content out there, but your pretty much set if you watch those three.

Re: Jim Lee (DC Comics Artist/Editor) Draws Son Gokuu.

It's fine for what it is. He drew it off the cuff in his style without much reference. It would look very different if it was for a commissioned work. That said Jim Lee's seen better days. He's still one of the most technically sound artists the industry has ever seen. Also I think years of everyone...

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 4/16/18!)

Honestly, I think Goku getting angry at the death 20 causes is perfectly in keeping with his actions in waiting. Goku never wanted to let people die. His plan was always to prevent that from happening. He just didn't take the most effective means of doing so. That's wrong of him, but it's not the s...
