Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 64

[spoiler] http://i.imgur.com/GQYD0To.jpg [/spoiler] Did this end up being corrected? What's the episode and time stamp? Found it, and it appears that they did. [spoiler] http://i.imgur.com/zMRQumZ.png [/spoiler] Ah. Was corrected like that in the actual broadcast episode? I feel what I linked was a...

Re: Goku's Gi orange or red?

by watching some old kei's sample of his broadcast video i see this and even with the tint it is orange , i really think it is a very reddish orange and can explain why it became light orange in super saiyan like Metalwario64 said, His gi lights up when he goes Super Saiyan. The blue gets lighter t...

Re: Goku's Gi orange or red?

Depending on the time frame, his gi red in Dragon Ball and orange in Dragon Ball Z. This is true for the anime at least by looking at the original animation cels.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #58]

Oh man, i love these impact effects when getting punched.. I would like to see it more in Dragon Ball super.. Do you guys have some exemple of this? From DBZ/S In terms of impact frames, you don't get much better than Tate. As for effects, I really like what Takahashi and Karasawa do. Do you know i...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #58]

Is it wrong that I prefer the Resurrection F version? It just seems to capture the intensity and raw anger of the moment the best. Nope, I also prefer It. Never particularly cared for that shot in both the anime and manga. The F special absolutely knocked those scenes out of the park. I mean, damn,...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #51]

I saw a few of the other edits to the two images a couple pages ago and decided to take a quick whack at it. I tried to stay as close to the original cels as possible but took some liberties with shading, especially in the SSJ2 Goku still, to update the old palette and keep everything visually pleas...

Re: DBZ vs DBS - Animation [Comparing Objectively]

You can embed just fine. You need to add a file extension to it. .jpg, for example, otherwise it doesn't register an image url. Naoki Tate's about the only animator on Super who draws eyes like they used to: [spoiler] http://i.imgur.com/QVmPifW.jpg http://i.imgur.com/40cD18S.jpg http://i.imgur.com/...

Re: What TV do you watch your DBZ on?

I'm using my ASUS PG279Q ROG Swift. How is that monitor? I've been keeping my eye on it since it dropped and have only heard good things about it other than people receiving lemons. Absurdly good. I'd had a Samsung 120Hz monitor since 2011, but was never satisfied with its colour accuracy. There we...

Re: What TV do you watch your DBZ on?

I tend to switch between two displays. If I'm sat at my desk, I'm using my ASUS PG279Q ROG Swift. It's 27", 2560x1440, IPS, and also has G-Sync, alongside a 165Hz refresh rate for the best gaming experience. It's calibrated with a Spyder4 Pro colour calibration tool. If I want to kick back, then I'...

Re: Gohan deemed a negative influence on self-image

The average American’s body type has changed substantially over the past 40 years, especially teenagers’ bodies. Between 1980 and 2012, the percentage of adolescents aged 12 to 19 who were obese increased from 5 to nearly 21 percent. But in many ways, teenage cartoon characters are stuck in the pas...

Re: Gohan deemed a negative influence on self-image

In a show about absurdly strong aliens beating the crap out of each other by moving at supersonic speed, firing energy blasts out of their hands, and destroying planets, we need to worry about how they have unrealistic body types? I find the selective choice of what is deemed "harmfully unrealistic"...

Re: Anyone interested in discussing the social issues of DB?

a book written by uneducated shepherds 2000 years ago. I'm not sure what shepherd writers you're talking about. The Bible was written around between 1000 BC and 100 AD by various inspired authors. I don't think any biblical scholar, even an atheist one, would call the writers uneducated. After all,...

Re: Anyone interested in discussing the social issues of DB?

But, as a Catholic, I know that sinful behavior is harmful and can lead a person to eternal damnation. It's not loving to say "Well, he can do whatever makes him happy, even though I know it might lead to his eternal damnation." It's much more loving to say "I love this person so much that I want t...

But if we normalize homosexuality then we'll have to normalize pedophillia and beastiality too! I know that you're being facetious with that, but the response has always puzzled me when used sincerely. Those two are always treated as inherently wrong, with no real logic behind the condemnati...

Re: Anyone interested in discussing the social issues of DB?

I think I've actually made a thread talking about this kind of stuff before, ABED , so it totally flies here, and I wouldn't want to be part of a community where it couldn't. Anyway, I think Dragon Ball pre-2013 managed by and large to be quite good with its female characters. They're strong, idios...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #43]

That's true also. Maybe it isn't Karasawa or Takahashi! It might be too soon for the animator responsible (Inaba maybe?), but Goku in that cut reminds me of a drawing that was asked about a few pages ago: http://i.imgur.com/I8V2oE6.jpg Huh, good eye. That's interesting. Man, it's just so hard to te...

Re: Anyone interested in discussing the social issues of DB?

Are we really bringing ideologies and social movements into a discussion about Dragon Ball? I don't mean to sound condescending here (or mini mod), but this isn't the place really to discuss politics. There are places for discussing PC culture, GamerGate, feminism, MRA's, the wage gap, etc, but I do...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #42]

I saw Ajay's corrections to the current style and thought I'd go ahead and post one of my own I did a couple of weeks ago. I more or less did the same things: reshaded following the older style, redrew the nose, ear, mouth, eyes, Adams apple, and a bit of the bangs on the right. The only difference ...
