Re: is Ultra instinct the best form since the first Super saiyan???
You maintain a false principle than, as Goku was blitzing Kefla back and forth you could replace UI with a power boost, and it will still achieve the same effect.

Re: is Ultra instinct the best form since the first Super saiyan???
goku UI Omen was not superior to kefla in fact it was inferior in his offensive it was due to the nature of the UI that goku could dodge the attacks without having to be more powerful Yes he was, he kept increasing his power steadily, and a shockwave from his punch had her reeling. as far as I re...

Re: is Ultra instinct the best form since the first Super saiyan???
I disagree, it looks cool but there's nothing that differentiates it from any other transformation, all that instinctual dodging looks like regular dodging.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office Thread
Depending on what type of release and promotion it gets and continues to gain in Spain, France, Italy, and China I could see this movie top out at or near $200 million. Since Dragon Ball has manifested quite a resurgence these recent years, it's popularity in several countries has shot up exponentia...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
I see for some people the fights were hard to follow, but this is the type of speed and ferocity I want to continue in DB from now on, although some use of slow-mo or break in motion wouldn't hurt. Also, more destruction and conveyance of speed would also be better too, of course, this can't be show...

Re: Did Gogeta and Broly create a pocket dimension?
I think in the spoilers or script it said they cracked the fabric of reality and destroyed several planes of dimensions. It could be something like in Gurren Lagann when Simon and Co. was fighting the Anti Spiral, and they were in a different plane of reality or space-time continuum altogether. Pos...

Re: God Ki as a concept.. was the ball dropped?
Yes I think so, aside from making Goku and Vegeta stronger and giving them new transformation which they don’t need God Ki for, it does nothing for the story or the fights. I don’t even know why they made them so strong in the first place, if they’re so easily challenged by everyone they come up aga...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
Everything else checks out fine, other than battle power being too much of a deciding factor in a fight; and a lack of abilities and techniques in battle. I don't see the need for a complete upheaval you're talking about, and disregarding power scaling would make the fights too erratic and undermine...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
But those "powerups" shouldn't even need to happen; whether you think they're done better or worse doesn't change the fact that they're playing to a broken system that was only made in the short-term to lighten Tori"s creative workload. A setting so toxic to it's characters that Goha...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
That's exactly the problem, and it sucks in those series too. Dragon Ball's issue is that everyone fights by the same rules, and thus if anyone is better than anyone else, there is never any chance of a fight being exciting or surprising. One Piece, JoJo and the like work because all of their chara...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
More that the nature of DB's power structure is inherently anti-narrative, and criticizing the series for breaking from that to make a more interesting or engaging battle is completely detrimental to the series' storytelling. I really want them to overhaul the massively-linear scale entirely, both ...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
I just saw the movie (yesterday), and I liked it, but I felt there was too much action for what felt like an endless amount of time and that it should have broken up into segments. As a result, surprisingly my favorite bits were during scenes of exposition and worldbuilding; moreover, it's interesti...

Re: Best VIZ release of the Manga?
Excluding the Fullcolors, Vizbigs are the best they have great paper quality, large panels, color pages, and they also come with the author notes and chapter art if that's right terminology for it.

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Hopefully, the next DB series has more worldbuilding and builds upon the existing lore the franchise has, since the worldbuilding in Super was nothing more than a footnote.
