*Sigh* You guys asked for it, and I'm going to give you guys what you want. I'm just getting around to recording some of these tapes now, so keep your eyes peeled on this thread. Somebody just tell me one thing... https://i.imgur.com/fLarr72.png Did this kid have to clean his room after Vegeta fled ...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 10; Still Unreleased

I can't wait to change the title to "Dub Turns 11; Never Coming Out lol" next year. I suggest you don't do that, even if meant as a joke. Because it's going to bring a looming sense of pessimism with it. Why should anyone care about this cause of ours and do anything to help if even the t...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 10; Still Unreleased

None of Geneon's shows went to YTV. All of them aired on G4 Canada That's not entirely true . Anyway, that reference was in regards to the three uncut Dragon Ball Z movies Geneon (then Pioneer) had Ocean dub. YTV aired those. Did they get them from Geneon? I don't know. I thought YTV aired the Toon...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 10; Still Unreleased

None of Geneon's shows went to YTV. All of them aired on G4 Canada. Canadian TV stations are required to air at least 50-60% Canadian-produced content on their channels depending on what channel & what time of day. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_content#Regulations It's mind boggling ho...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 10; Still Unreleased

The problem with Adult Swim Canada is that it's another Corus channel. They don't acquire many shows from independent producers anymore, especially when it's for the U.S. licensed channels. Those mostly exist to coast off of brand recognition and whatever programming Corus got with the licensing de...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 10; Still Unreleased

Maybe also Toon-A-Vision in Canada? Here's the thing about Toon-A-Vision, it's a very low-rent, rickety type of channel. They don't even have Closed Captioning which they are required by law to have, so I don't know how that whole operation is going to turn out, but I'd rather look towards the supe...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 10; Still Unreleased

A. The existence of Toonami Canada will depend on the fans, this was outright said by the guys behind Adult Swim Canada. Corus/AS don't know whether there's enough demand, and a bunch of fans emailing in will convince them that there is. I want to point out that no one who works for Corus has said ...

Not Dragon Ball related, but a big step in the right direction!
Why?
Because it's an Ocean Group anime dub we thought we'd never see. That, if for no other reason.

Craziest Dragon Ball-related opinions, rumours, etc.

Now, allow me to clarify what the title is referring to. I don't mean opinions such as is Super better than Z, or anything within the fandom, like power levels, characters, character motives, etc. Well, I guess some of them are acceptable, but they have to be very radical and extreme for it to be re...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

I only came in here to share my personal opinion, and, something I don’t think has been touched on in this thread—which is the fact that FUNi won’t make full screen DBZ affordable. They think only fanboys want full screen DBZ, and that everyone else doesn’t care. Unfortunately they may be right abo...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

This set is indeed not perfect and could be a lot better but it has addressed a lot concerned I had with other releases. [...] The DNR processes does take me out of the show for a second from time to time but I'm enjoying it and overall feel satisfied, it does look better than the season Blu-ray si...

Re: Dub Mistake #4,862: Piccolo Has Always Hated Gohan?

I remember that line, so it can't be a YTV only thing. I remember this dialogue from the US airing so it must not have been Canada-only. Now, I can't speak for what UK viewers saw, but Cartoon Network USA used the exact same dialogue as the SIngle DVDs. https://streamable.com/wsmxf I did wish to ad...

Dub Mistake #4,862: Piccolo Has Always Hated Gohan?

FUNimation has done some rather interesting things, dare I say bold things to their dub scripts. Changes that make you question how they're the biggest anime conglomerate in North America and most of the western world. With unacceptable, ridiculous changes that persist to this day. But this particul...

I'm sorry to ask this but is anyone up for a talk on Discord about this? I love you all and I would love to discuss this there. I'm glad you asked, my friend! (Especially because I had no intention of arbitrarily promoting this on this thread). It just so happens that Robo4900 and I have started ou...

Don't get me wrong, Enigmo and I don't always see eye to eye, but I gotta give it up to him for keeping things real on this one. And the little jab at Geekdom near the end was well warranted.

Re: Is Dragon Ball Super still on Cartoon Network India?

India rerunning the same 27 episodes over and over again is just plain absurd. Is CN India waiting for a contract to expire or something before they could import Funi's dub? What about the people in India who want a Hindi dub? While I agree with you on the 27 episodes in rotation thing, we still do...

Re: Is Dragon Ball Super still on Cartoon Network India?

They aired the Bang Zoom dub right? Correct. They had the same order of episodes as Toonami Asia. As far as I can tell, no, once the Asian Toonami block was cancelled Super had no place left to air. Not true. Toonami Asia went off the air at the end of March of last year. Meanwhile, Cartoon Network...

Is Dragon Ball Super still on Cartoon Network India?

Regarding this topic, after it was brought to my attention today, has me rather perplexed. On one hand, I don't see it anywhere on any TV guide I could find. On the other, the Wikipedia article still lists it as current programming and I just don't see how something that Turner invested money into c...
