General Website Goofs/Errors

Post by ShadowDude112 » Fri Oct 25, 2013 8:27 pm

I found a goof where both the DVD and Blu-ray versions for Dragon Ball Z Kai Part Six have the same release date as Part Five. But Part Six came out September 13, 2011. Just letting the staff know . Maybe we could make this a thread just in case we see a mistake that catches our eyes?

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

Well clicking "Previous arc" on this page still doesn't work, and the "Tien Shinhan Saga" DVD and all "Tien Shinhan" or "Tien" episode titles are still listed as Tenshinhan Shinhan or just Tenshinhan on this page.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the heads up on these errors!

That's an odd quirk I haven't seen on the site yet. On the back end, when we edit a page, everything appears correctly as Tien Shinhan, but when you view the actual page live on the site it's all been replaced. Looks like the forum's filter has somehow infiltrated the site... This is something I'll have to look at more closely.

I mentioned this on Twitter, but since we have a thread for these sort of things now I figure I ought to mention it here. I don't believe Miya'uchi Kouhei is supposed to be credited for voicing the Kame-sen'nin in Dragon Ball episode #137. Yanami Jouji is clearly voicing the character in that episode.

In the Guidebooks page, the Dragon Ball: Adventure Special isn't click-able from the picture. I think that this error is elsewhere too, but I'm not sure.

Mein thanks for the addition to the Dragon Ball episode #137 page, guys. Funny that Miya'uchi was actually credited. Hmm...

I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but I think there are some "goofs" in the Battle Power Guide. If anything at least the one in the anime section is wrong.

The Home Media guide has a broken link. In the Funimation singles listings, both Cell Games AND Great Saiyaman arc links direct towards Cell Games.

ie: Hyperlink ends with "...series10/" instead of "...series11/"
A YouTube channel with no AMVs on it? I know, it's hard to believe.

Alright, I think I found one. I was browsing through the manga guide looking at the release dates of each chapter and around volume 22 something weird started to happen. As far as I understand it, the light grey text below the red (English) title is supposed to be the date that that chapter appeared in WSJ along with the issue number. Well that's all fine and dandy, but when you click the chapters to view the details, the "premiered" section in the Chapter Information says that this chapter was released in WSJ 1989 but uses the correct issue #. And it looks like this error carries all the way through to chapter 420.

That would be Julian, who is in the process of updating all the chapter dates from their issue dates to their sale dates. We've been putting a lot of effort into into that guide lately... lots of Excel files to keep track of things.

Well, that's still an error, but it will be corrected within the next few months as I go through each chapter page and correct the release dates.

As it stands, I've already updated all the pages we have to reflect both the colorized and black-and-white digital editions. That was a pain....

Don't know if I've sent any of these in before, but I usually keep a notepad doc with a list of little things I see. Here it goes:
  • It seems the DBZ Movie 13: Ore ga Yaranakya Dare ga Yaru CD single in the Music Database actually retailed for ¥1000, not ¥930. I don't even remember how or why I ever noticed this, now I just look obsessive...
  • In the synopsis of the Extra Chapters section of the Dragon Ball SD spin off page, it says the chapter came in the December 2013 issue, instead of the October 2013 issue.
  • This one is maybe a little subjective but coming from a completionist's viewpoint, the live-action Korean film was released in a two-part VHS release (virtually identical to how Saiya-jin Zetsumetsu Keikaku's two parts were released) but isn't noted as such in the Movie Guide. I did some research on how they are titled, and it would just be:

    드래곤볼 싸워라 손오공 이겨라 손오공・상
Deuraegonbol Ssawora Son Ogong Igyeora Son Ogong• Sang
Dragon Ball: Fight, Son Goku! Win, Son Goku! - First Half

(And just ・하 :: • Ha :: - Second Half for the second part, keeping the formatting consistent with the DBZ Gaiden parts listings)

    Image Image

It is also optional to crop around the VHS labeling around each edge, but I'm just throwing out ideas at this point...
  • Maybe this one was intentional, but in the Game Guides section, the Raging Blast 2 – Design Works book's image is just an old promotional image, a cropped portion of the full cover (with a different color scheme as well). I know that since its a long, horizontal B4 size cover it's hard to work with, but I maybe if it was rotated and displayed vertically, at least the whole image would be there.

EDIT: Also it is listed as Hardcover on the site, but it is actually Softcover.

    Image
  • And in the same vein (this is admittedly more of an addition, not goof/error), there was another "Other" game guide that I missed when I first compiled this guide. Idainaru Dragonball Densetsu also had a behind-the-scenes type guide that came with pre-orders (just like Burst Limit and Raging blast, so many years later). It is B5 size and released on Mar. 31, 1996 and softcover. Published by Bandai Co., Ltd. It's really worth noting, because I think it also contains some interview material. Also because you'd be the first site with a game guide page to document this one.

    Image
I've got larger images of everything if anyone's interested.

Keep up all of your great work guys! It does not go unnoticed or unappreciated!!

That's because it did. V-Jump is always post-dated by two months, and Saikyō Jump, by one month. I know it can be hard to keep track; it gives me headaches, too.

The download link for podcast #245 is actually for #246.

EDIT: There's also no listing for #248.

BP Guide wrote:On p.63 it describes the Potara fusion as being closer to multiplication rather than simple addition in the way it increases power. A graphical depiction of this infers that Vegetto’s battle power is equivalent to Goku’s battle power multiplied by Vegeta’s. Also according to the introduction of the Super Exciting Guide′s training section, all the information in it is based on data that was supervised by Toriyama, though we have no idea how extensive this supervision was.
BP List wrote:Potara Fusion: X’s battle power x Y’s battle power
Is the "A x B = C" formula a fact, or it's a conclusion you came? Because from what I hear (can't speak JPN), it only says that "Goku x Vegeta = Vegetto", with no mention of battle powers. Yes, it talks about the Potara working as a multiplication and all, but another guide says that Gotenks is dozens of times stronger than Goten/Trunks, and has a similar "Goten + Trunks = Gotenks", which obviously doesn't imply that Fusion works as "A + B = C". So, if the "A x B = C" formula is a conclusion you reached and not a fact, I think that it shouldn't be taken as a fact in the site.

But isn't the website supposed to have facts instead of opinions? Because stating something like this as a fact what the DB Wikia would do, not Kanzenshuu.

Which they did. Fact that a SEG inferred it. Just not fact that the guide was right.
