Well, it's art style is derivative from an art style which was already derivative.
Though the original PtEtS was based on the anime's style, which was based on the manga, though it had no manga panels to base itself on, so it just had to try to look like it. This is trying to re-create an anime which never had panels to base itself on to begin with (15 years later).
Toriyama's art seems to have been completely lost in this translation.

My hope of any other new characters is starting to wane.... I would have thought they would have used them for marketting by now.

Hey, folks:

Just added a butt-load of character design sheets and sketches over on the re-launched "Saiya-jin Zetsumetsu Keikaku" page.

*Craps self*

By the way, shouldn't we make the Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans a talkback of its own general talkback so we don't necessarily have the game discussion mixed with the discussion on the OVA? Or is the idea to just save that for when the game comes out?

Tbh Goku's super saiyajin hair in RG1 was pretty bad.

They improved it here.

Barely. They've give it a gold tinge.
It still looks like a load of bananas.

SSj Goku's so shiny in this game. He looks like a light bulb.

Hatchihyakku really looks bad in the second screen shot.

Goku looks more "over-illuminated" than shiny to me.

They all look glossy. It's like everyone drenched themselves in oil before fighting. I don't like it, but I'll live.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

Ok, woah! I just noticed this, but in the second to last shot VegettoEX posted Goku was in his battle damaged costume. Is that going to happen in game or was that a different fight?

Yea, so far he's the worst.

I can't believe that we haven't heard a theme song by Hironobu Kageyama. I hope we get one. I also don't want Hatchihyakku to be too overpowered. Kinda like SSJ4 Gogeta. (He's a bitch.)

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

I thought we already established that. That's why it's terrible; Because a player's skill is thrown out the window for a silly game of chance that's completely inefficient. Instead of encouraging players to improve their skills, it instead encourages them to waste their ki and open themselves up to an ass-whupping (since, y'know, no decent player ever falls for it), for what may or may not be...half a bar's worth of damage. It's an extremely underwhelming aspect of the gameplay, no matter how it's sugarcoated.
I'm saying luck is part of a person's skill.

But it's not terrible. If I've never played before, I don't want to go in and get myself pounded over and over. I want some kind of chance to win. And if no decent player ever falls for it...then wouldn't it take skill to use it in the first place? And if you're facing a decent player as a newbie, then you won't be able to land it without said skill...so wouldn't you be encouraged to get the skill to be able to use it properly? Then, on the other side...if I'm the decent player facing the DR user...I should be more than happy that they're using up all their ki and rendering themselves vulnerable.

Big Momma wrote:(Also...about it adding flash...DBZ's games are about 90% flash)
Yeah, I know. Again, that's the point. Flash has nothing to do with gameplay, which I thought was what we were discussing.[/quote]

Yes, I'm saying that's what DBZ games are mostly about. Flashy fights, not gameplay. If you're so big into polished gameplay...then don't come looking at a DBZ fighting game...because you're almost always going to be disappointed.

By definition, you're completely and utterly incorrect. If you're less than good at the game, and you think that the DR is a helpful hand--that's fine. But that, in no way, redeems it from consisting of little-to-no merit to the series.

And since we're specifically discussing the Dragon Rush and how it pertained to Budokai 3's gameplay...what's the point in stating the obvious, especially when it's an outside argument?

Also showcased are several quick scenes from the newly-remade Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans, the story of which is now confirmed to flood over into the main game
Ok, saw this on the trailer as well and I'm a bit confused and kinda scared, what does that exactly mean? Because it makes me think that the main fights will not be animated and will instead be played, hence the 30 minute mark. What do you guys think?

Not sure if anyone asked of said anything but that SS Goku/Hatchiyack picture where Goku has the chance to 'recover', does it look like that pic should be in 3D or something? His hand looks like its coming out at me but Goku is slightly bluured in the background.

Didn't you know? Hatchiyack and Hakan are second cousins. That's why Hakan is red. They don't talk much, but they send each other christmas cards, have polite conversation at family functions, stuff like that.

It might look better in person. To tell you the truth, this sorta reminds me of SFIV in a since.
