Perhaps that should be the next focus for dbz, no mater what engine we go with no one is satisfied anyway so perhaps a DBZ game LittleBigPlanet style where you design your own character, boards, and a story creation mode and oh maybe 2-3 years of development time.

Holy black on a Popo! I do like the attention to detail, but the big boss battles DO kind of look like just prompt buttons, I'm'a miss just shooting big ol ki blasts at will. [Yay Comic Con]

What I'm waiting for now is AWESOME cutscenes for transformations....kinds of like how 1st to 2nd hen 2nd to 3rd form of Frieza was handled.

Probably, this means we can change the size of the characters as well.
Yes, that's what I think. However, what I was trying to say is that if they're allowing us to change the "model body" and "face" with the creation & customization feature, it doesn't sound like they're just talking about altering the official characters.

They wouldn't let people change Goku's basic features even if there was an option to change his outfit. That's why I mentioned Soul Calibur IV too. You can change the build and face of custom characters (in limited ways), but you can't do that to the official characters (you can only change their outfit and hair). Considering how they're talking about those options, it really sounds like an actual character creator this time, not just options for the official characters.
I understand and I agree with you and I never wanted to change Goku's face. I wanted to change the outfits and the colours.

For instance, there are several official costumes in the manga that we never saw in any DBZ games because they simply don't care and this option (probably) will allow us to have it for the first time.

BTW, you did a great job in (with?) the Mortal Kombat character creation mode.

The game certainly looks theatrical. I guess it serves its purpose but I'd rather have a real fighting game.

They are out there. It's called Street Fighter. I on the other hand don't need my DBZ games playing like that. That's what I play Street Fighter hardcore for, then I break away and play somthing like this that isn't orthodox. The D in DBZ stands for Drama ! Yum ! 8)

Nothing particularly new out of Comic-Con. Well, I don't think so, anyway. I mean, I'm not actually there, but the press materials don't give any new information :P. They do finally confirm in text the character creation mode, though, as well as some type of return from DBGT (while it doesn't actually specify characters or forms, I don't know what else it could be beyond a level/stage).

The level of skill in the gameplay has gone up. (Aside from that Janempa video.)

Game looks very fun. 8)

Game definitely looks different from the usual Tenkaichi style gameplay, which is strange cause the developers said in that few-part interview that they were aiming on bringing the Tenkaichi style gameplay back. Maybe it just happens to play that way rather than actually being so.

It seems that camera angles shift even in the beginning of the battle, like in the Trunks vs. Goku video the camera started out on a flat 2D plan kind of like a traditional fighting game. Other videos, however, do the Tenkaichi-style camera.

Regardless I'm going to have to see that character creator to really be sold on this game. That could either make or break the game for me.

In addition with character creation, I think it'd be cool to be able to customize the canon characters.
Sort of like the Butouden game. I liked that a lot.

If not, then I'm happy with creating characters.

...as long as they have an afro option...

Editing the established characters would be cool

That is if the wardrobe consists of all the costumes Toriyama drew on the manga covers and whatnot.

I was thinking about that the other day. I wouldn't be surprised if they took some of those designs and implemented them into the pieces and all that.

But hey, it gives us another reason not to stack up our credits/points after we buy/get all the attribute items.

I'm going to have to wait for more news to come out of it, but I like the idea of being able to essentially customize currently existing characters the way Ultimate Butoden lets you.

Fight presentations more closely mirror the animation series. Battle against a new group of giant bosses as in the animation series. Experience 15 animated scenes with bosses up to 15x the size of playable characters! Also enjoy bonus level from movie and Dragon Ball GT series!
It would be cool if there were 15 giant bosses but I feel each boss battle may be split into parts.

Dragonball
The only times I remember a character become a giant was Kid Goku turning during the full Moon.
When Piccolo turned giant and when Annin turned too.

Were there any other times from the serie or movies when they turned giant?

Dragonball Z
Vegeta turning Oozaru.
Dr. Wheelo would be an interesting boss battle.

Did Turles ever turn Oozaru in the movie?

Lord Slug would be a great edition as it would complete the story arc of Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans. Cooler for when he become a big robot think on Namak. I don't remember how big Broly is but I'm not sure he is a giant. Maybe Bio Broly but he was fighting Goten and Trunks, so the size is difficult to measure.

I loved the Janemba video trailer. Hirudegarn had two forms and his body was split in two so if he appears we might get four battles. We might see Aka, Abo and Kado. This would be great as it would complete another arc.

Dragonball GT
Lord Luud was like a giant robot. What about that big blue Lion thing? How big was Lord Yao in GT? I think I remember General Rilldo become part of a planet. Goku fighting a planet so funny.

There are two Shadow Dragons. One being the giant mole thing and the other electric rat. And there is Baby Vegeta too.
