- 2014-03-19: "Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission 2" Announced For 3DS
Kanzenshuu wrote:The game is thus far advertised to include all missions up through at least the current JM3 iteration. It will surpass its predecessor in terms of both graphical quality and the amount of content, including a brand-new “Adventure Mode”, as well as an “Ultimate Mission” where the player has a finite number of cards and is not allowed to play the same one twice. Players will also be able to retain all the cards they obtained in the first game, although how this will be accomplished has yet to be revealed.
- 2014-03-31: "Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission 2" (3DS) Website Updates
Kanzenshuu wrote:A bit after being formally unveiled in the May 2014 issue of V-Jump earlier this month, the official website for Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission has itself finally updated with information about the impending sequel, Ultimate Mission 2. The update includes
a teaser promotional video.
- 2014-04-24: "Ultimate Mission 2" (JP 3DS) Coming August 2014
Kanzenshuu wrote:The game is set to include missions from 21 iterations, from the original arcade game’s first edition to the “Evil Dragon Mission” 3 update. There will be over 2,000 cards, which is more than twice the amount in the first game. Players will be able to carry over card data from the first game to the second game. A new “Ultimate Universe Mode” will be included for players to traverse.

I hope they'll make an international release for this game even if it's retitled "
Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Card Game".

As for this game, well it's been an eventful week for Dragon Ball games. It's not a surprise due to the first game's success.
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

Man, yet another DBZ game that I would buy, but cant because this will most likely never see the light of day over in the US.

It's times like this that I wish I had a Japanese 3DS...

I really can see this coming to the states, if enough people here even knew of its existence. Outside of Kanzenshuu and Japanese youtube channels, it seems nearly nobody in the states knows of this games existence.
A shame because id get a DS for this.

I wonder if this game can match the success of it's predecessor since it won't have the benefit of movie hype to increase sales and interest. Then again, it did sell pretty well 22 weeks after the movie came out so I guess it's a wise decision by Bandai Namco. Better milk this sub-series while they can!

This game and the first game exist to sell more cards. I doubt we will see a US release anytime soon given that DBH does not exist in the US and you can't have a card video game without any cards to sell.

They really need to make a fighting game version of this without cards. I don't care what system it would be for I'd buy it for sure.

I retract my earlier statement. I don't wish I had a Japanese 3DS. I wish the 3DS, like the DS predecessors, wasn't region locked. I shouldn't have to buy a second system to play what I want to play.

It could work...if it functioned like the PS3 game Eye of Judgement.

Exactly how I feel. Given the large amount of 3DS games that are Japan only though, I don't think I'll be able to resist importing a Japanese 3DS forever though...
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on
my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

This is great news! I'm not planning to buy it, but we will be able to have the new characters from the game in better quality on YouTube, and we will be able to see everyones Super Attacks. Plus, we will most likely get another animated opening, and getting new DB animation is always great. I hope this one will include the animated openings from the arcade, so that we will be able to see them all, and in good quality.

James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Namco Bandai just hasn't been giving the console audience quality games but for Japan-only? That isn't valid.

Something similar to Eye of Judgement can work, but I don't think it will be enough. Heroes won't do well in the US unless they make a Heroes TV anime show in order to promote and sell more cards. A game like this would be release for a very niche group of fans and that won't be enough for Namco Bandai to release it outside of the US.
