I really don't think it will be used in the next DBS but Xenoverse 2 should use them a lot !!
The locations, NPC, etc... should be included in Xenoverse 2 if the game improve its MMO aspect.
macho_man wrote:All this is awesome!!! Just two things I wanted to point out:
- Classic_71.png is missing
- The original artwork is not from YoungJijii, it's from Toyble/Toyotarou. It was in his blog 'toyblog' along with other 3-4 DBO images drawn by him.
Hi, thanks.
- Classic_71 is not existing. It is just my mistake.
- Oh yes, correct. It is not Youngjijii but Toyble.

Today, a very tiny update:

Robot:

I'm still searching for an artwork of Narak, the boss of dark namekians. Maybe it is just not existing at all ...

The event NPC is a recycled design of Toriyama's, and I'm pretty sure that's not a robot? lol

Also, you won't find any good artwork of Naraku as far as I know. There's a blurry image of him behind some of the other Namekians from his UD as part of a Karin's Notes update, as well as a small photo of his early concept art with alternate colors, but nothing worth actually looking at. You're much better off just checking out the in-game model.

Ok, so, about this little Alien that I just posted. Is it in DBO ? I don't really get, sorry. ^^

About Narak, I just recolored the screenshot from his blurry version:

Colours are inspired by the previous picture showing a blurred Narak.

It is. It's just not a robot in the work it originated in as far as I can remember, so I'm going to presume it's not a robot in DBO either.

As for the Naraku picture, my only gripe would be that his skin looks too bright, like a Piccolo green. Comparing the color to the one from the blurry Karin's Notes image, it should be more muted with a bit of gray/black tone. I assume he's not supposed to be as vibrant to go along with his "Black Namekian" title.

... and it is not completely impossible that Bandai add him to a next sequel of DBH or in Xenoverse 2.

Ok thanks.
But my last question about him: what's the origin of this character. You said it's a recycled design from Toriyama him-self but I never seen it before.

I think there are a couple versions of the character in a few of his works. The only one I can remember off the top of my head though is Deathroy from Blue Dragon (which Toriyama did the designs for). Blue Dragon (2007) was released before DBO (2010), but both seem to have been in developments since around 2005, so I'm not sure which is the original and which got tweaked...

Is Toriyama personally responsible for any of these illustrations?

Yeah, he was doing designs for at least 5 years. But I doubt that most of this art is actually his. It was likely redone by the development team to be consistent in style with the rest of their game assets. The only images that feel like authentic Toriyama are the artworks for Buu's wife and Fu in the Taiwanese guidebook, but neither had publicly released in-game assets for a comparison.

Yes, maybe for Fu and Buu's wife, we have seen nothing from Toriyama for DBO.

That artwork is actually from Dragon Ball Heroes, if you want to count that as a sort of revamp.

Indeed. There are some images out there in the Internet saying what character are going to appear, if these images are correct, we will continue to get more from Dragon Ball Online until GDM8.

I don't know whether it's wrong or not to resume an old thread of two years ago, but this one is so good and full of interesting information about Dragon Ball Online that I found it stupid to create a new thread just to ask this question:

Do you know which of the designs posted here were done by Toriyama?

Because some surely look like they came from him and I know for certain he drew some designs himself because he stated it.
