Re: Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butouden (3DS)
Damn this is really cool. Now that the New Nintendo 3DS is released, it's a great time to make games for the console which hopefully will create a lot of sales for Namco Bandai. I only have a few Mario games, Fire Emblem, and Tales of Abyss so this will really reinvent my time to play the console. Now if this doesn't get released here then it sucks for all of us. I noticed that Bandai Namco will always give us the Console Games, but when it comes to Handheld Games it will be a hit or a miss not just Dragon Ball.
Never played Supersonic Warriors or Ultimate Budoten, but I am wondering how was Supersonic Warriors 1 and 2 so a reply would be nice! Just know they got average reviews.

Re: Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butouden (3DS)
Puh lease..! Videl and Mr. Satan fighting Chi-Chi would be like two 5-year-olds trying to take down a burly adult. It just can't happen. Plus Chi-Chi can jump faster than or at least as fast as Videl can fly in a battle and can jump ridiculously high so no escape.Lord Beerus wrote:Aw, come on. How would Chi Chi be able to land a hit on Videl when Videl can fly? But even then, in a one-on-one fist, Videl or Mr Satan could stomp Chi Chi.DBZAOTA482 wrote:Not a chance. Videl can't even take a bullet. She's lucky to even be able to hurt BoD Yamcha whereas Chi-Chi was considered impressive by Muten Roshi himself and was shown to be quite superhuman (with a PL of 130 or 137 in V-Jump).ArchedThunder wrote:Videl can actually fight on Z levels. Chi Chi is just Chi Chi.
From a fighting game roster standpoint, it's either have Chi-Chi or fuck them both.
Again, there's no reason to have Videl and Mr. Satan as playable characters but no Chi-Chi other than for story purposes.

Re: Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butouden (3DS)
I tweeted Namco Bandai's twitter about releasing the game in the US. I hope enough support on their FB and Twitter can help the game be released in the US. With a console game, they are going to be released in the US no matter what but this is a 3DS game. Namco Bandai America probably feels like console DBZ games are popular and sell better then the ones on the handhelds.

It probably wouldn't have hurt to post a link for other to retweet and stuff.
Re: Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butouden (3DS)
Like I said, Bandai-Namco has been REALLY awesome about getting these types of games localized (unlike OTHER companies... *weeps for Dragon Quest*). We're getting J-Stars, for pete's sake! I wouldn't worry about Extreme Butoden unless we still haven't heard anything once the JP release date approaches or even passes.

Re: Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butouden (3DS)
So, this is certainly a surprise. The Supersonic Warrior games were really fun, even if 90% of the what ifs were terrible. But the roster size has me worried, getting some rarely-playable characters is nice but I don't want this to end up having a bloated roster that ate up most of the development time. Even 40-50 fighters could be too much.
also what stupidity were you talking about earlier?
If they've been so awesome about it, where the fuck is my port of Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode?Kaboom wrote:Like I said, Bandai-Namco has been REALLY awesome about getting these types of games localized (unlike OTHER companies... *weeps for Dragon Quest*). I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!
Re: Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butouden (3DS)
Nintendo of America only releasing the XL version of the New 3DS (for now), while the rest of the world gets both versions. It's kind of off-topic, so just look up something called "Operation Faceplate" if you want more info.Saiga wrote:Also what stupidity were you talking about earlier?

Re: Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butouden (3DS)
So if Ultimate Butouden was developed by Game Republic and this game is developed by Arc System then ever happened to Tose? I figure Bandai dropped them after creating that abomination Dragon Ball: Final Bout.

I'd wager they are waiting on the magazine to drop so they can translate the content themselves? The original scans seem hard to read, and the larger one was already scanlated to have English text plastered on it.

Re: Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butouden (3DS)
The SuperSonic Warriors series was pretty fun, the gameplay was reminiscent of Sparking due to the Big-Scaled battles with big beams and plenty of air figting but in a 2D Filed with Sprites. The Story modes for those usually included some pretty wierd what-ifs that most of the time didn't make sense or were just bad, but it was fun IMO.TheKingOfKamehamehas wrote:Damn this is really cool. Ultimate Butouden was pretty AMAZING and to me, better than any DBZ game we got in the PS360 era. Colorful art-style, fun gameplay and plenty of modes (along with pretty fun and interesting what-ifs, like the Super Krillin adventures) to keep you occupied, and TONS of Fan-Service, be it outfits, litle accessories that you can attach to the characters or even the characters movesets, it was like a Love-Letter to fans.
If this game is somehow a mix between the 2, I'll be one happy fan.

Re: Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butouden (3DS)
While I don't think Ultimate Butouden was better than Burst Limit, it was definitely better than the others of the last gen. The fanservice was like no other.
I'm really hype for this game though. It's literally all I've wanted since RB2 came out. I'm curious how long this was in production. If the roster is that big I would hope each character is somewhat unique.
