CAPCOM!

Post by SpiritBomb » Fri May 07, 2004 11:48 pm

Ya know those Capcom VS Marvel games? I think it would be pretty cool if they made one with DBZ involved in it. Yes, its not likely. No, it might not make such a good game....but its an idea and I haven't posted a topic in awhile!

Now, maybe I'm just saying this because I'm obsessed with Street Fighter and would kill to see that mixed up with DBZ but it would be interesting with all the other Capcom people and stuff.

So long for now!
Some day, you'll be wishing for today.

Capcom vs DBZ? I think I played something like that once, someone ripped the sprites from DBZ Legends and threw in a bunch of random characters...fun times.

Seriously though, saying that gave me a thought. Wouldn't it be great if a DBZ game had the "training" mode from Street Fighter Alpha 3? You could learn techniques, build your stats, etc..

This has been a dream of DBZ fan's for years, I wish Capcom and Toei would become boy friend and girl friend and have a baby called "Capcom VS DragonBall" they'd live in sin .... but the fan's would be happy.

Capcom? Make a DBZ game? No...no no no!

We need ARC SYSTEM WORKS, because they rock! They already made one great DBZ game on their first try, just imagine what they could pull off with a second try :)

Besides, Capcom doesnt make 2D fighters anymore

They should just make a Shonen Jump fighting game!
All the characters from their most successful series going
head to head! developed with the awesome sprite animation
in Marvel vs Capcom, or Street Fighter III - Third Strike!

Nothing but wishful thinking though... :/

Well they did make two Shonen Jump RPG's for the original 8-bit Nintendo (Famicom actually) called "Famicom Jump" I remeber it had little Goku and the girl from Dr.Slump

UPDATE: I found pics for part two, look's decent for an 8-bit game.

You have a good point Tanooki; they've done it before, so why not now? Especially with games like "Viewtiful Joe" (or whatever the hell capcom called it) coming out, it's a good time for cross-overs in the video game market.

That's pretty damn cool! I'm surprised Superpope.com didn't include
those games in their DB game database! How many of those are there
in the Famicom Jump Series?

Jump vs. Capcom....it makes sense. And really, who wouldn't love a fight between Dhalsim and Luffy?

Coming out? It's been out for almost a year, now.

It's a fair point though. 2d is having a (quite small) resurgence, with stuff like Four Swords and Paper Mario. A properly done 2d game could look really cool.

Um... superpope has the first Famicom Jump game there. Go check it out.

A Capcom 2D DBZ beat 'em up is a dream of mine as well.

With Sammy vs. Capcom (Apparently), Guilty Gear XX "Some subtitle" and.... some other 2D Capcom fighter that I can't remember coming out soon, the 2D fighter market isn't quite dead yet.

But sadly I don't see it happening, which sucks, as the Budokai system is horribly easy....
Er.... No.

Sammy v.s Capcom is being done by Sammy, not Capcom, then there is Guilty Gear XX #Reload which was done by Arc Sysem Works (A sub division of Sammy) and was released last year into arcades, but is making its console release finally, and then Capcom is releasing Capcom Fighting Evolution, which will be their final 2D fighter.

Er...Viewtiful Joe is being rereleased for the GameCube, with a feature that allows you to play as Dante from Devil May Cry, another Capcom game.

A Jump/Capcom fighting game would be pretty cool. Just imagine Ryu doing that Shinkuu Hadoken countering Son Goku's Kamehameha. I just wanna see an actual 2D DBZ game; not cel-shaded, but actual 2D, like Guilty Gear X. Mmm...fusion feature, perhaps, that allows you to fuse a Jump Character with a Capcom character?

This topic is ridiculously old, can't we let it die yet?

If it is anyone who will do a 2D DragonBall Z game, it'll be Arc System Works. They blow Capcom out of the water :)

I thought that was just on the upcoming PS2 version of Viewtiful Joe 1. Gamecube is getting Viewtiful Joe 2 soon, after all.

The PS2 version's already out, at least in America. And as far as I know, there is no re-release for the Gamecube.
