Non-Dragon Ball songs that fit really well with the series
Like the title says, which songs sound like they could be in the series? This AMV is what made me come up with the idea for this thread:

The only thing that would make it better is if....
...oh wait, never mind.

I understand the point of the second one, but it was... pitiful...Shiyonasan wrote:Like the title says, which songs sound like they could be in the series? This AMV is what made me come up with the idea for this thread:

It's like the creator just put a full episode to the song!

I've never been able to unassociate certain Megumi Hayashibara/Slayers songs with Dragon Ball, thanks to AMVs I saw a long time ago.
You can see all three on my Youtube channel, but the quality is pretty bad for all of them. It was in the days when most people had dial-up.
I also made a mistake. Risky Gamble, one of my favorites, apparently isn't by Megumi Hayashibara (or at least, the original version isn't). I need to fix that.

Well, I can't associate the two, but I cannot deny the awesome that is Hayashibara and Slayers!Bussani wrote:I've never been able to unassociate certain Megumi Hayashibara/Slayers songs with Dragon Ball, thanks to AMVs I saw a long time ago.

Like I said, it's because I saw these AMVs using the music so long ago. Before I'd even seen that far in Dragon Ball Z. I was probably barely up to Future Trunks showing up at the time. Now whenever I hear those songs, I think of Dragon Ball before Slayers, despite being a big Slayers fan too.Metalwario64 wrote:Well, I can't associate the two, but I cannot deny the awesome that is Hayashibara and Slayers!Bussani wrote:I've never been able to unassociate certain Megumi Hayashibara/Slayers songs with Dragon Ball, thanks to AMVs I saw a long time ago.

"In The End" and Vegeta are forever linked thanks to AMVs.
I used to think Muse fit well with the series, but not so sure now. Map of the Problematique (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyLx0qc_gKc) is a good melodramatic song for a big battle.
And Micro Cuts always makes me think of Broli for some reason. Listen to it after reading this and tell me if it doesn't stick.

Well, ever since TeamFourStar used it in Abridged, I've always thought that "Drill the Heavens With Your XXX!!!" from Gurren Lagann worked pretty well.
It's the song that plays during the scene where they think they've defeated Vegeta, before he drops back to the ground.
And it made me happy.

Do you mean the series as a whole, or things that could be specific character themes? I have a number of songs I've been planning to make into AMVs once I marathon the series and take notes where all the scenes I want are...

A better song for Goku/ChiChi has never been written. This here is Garth Brooks' "Rodeo".
His eyes are cold and restless
His wounds have almost healed
And she'd give half of Texas
Just to change the way he feels
She knows his love's in Tulsa
And she knows he's gonna go
Well it ain't no woman flesh and blood
It's that damned old rodeo
Chorus:
Well it's bulls and blood
It's dust and mud
It's the roar of a Sunday crowd
It's the white in his knuckles
The gold in the buckle
He'll win the next go 'round
It's boots and chaps
It's cowboy hats
It's spurs and latigo
It's the ropes and the reins
And the joy and the pain
And they call the thing rodeo
She does her best to hold him
When his love comes to call
But his need for it controls him and
Her back's against the wall
And it's "So long girl, I'll see you"
When it's time for him to go
You know the woman wants her cowboy
Like he wants his rodeo
[Chorus]
It'll drive a cowboy crazy
It'll drive the man insane
And he'll sell off everything he owns
Just to pay to play the game
And a broken home and some broken bones
Is all he'll have to show
For all the years that he spent chasin'
This dream they call rodeo
His eyes are cold and restless
His wounds have almost healed
And she'd give half of Texas
Just to change the way he feels
She knows his love's in Tulsa
And she knows he's gonna go
Well it ain't no woman flesh and blood
It's that damned old rodeo

I meant as a whole, but specific character themes are fine too. Good luck on your AMVs!Velasa wrote:Do you mean the series as a whole, or things that could be specific character themes? If we're gonna be using Highlander music with DBZ, Shiyonasan, we need to go with a classic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBACOYu1yh4
That isn't the original version, though. It's a remake of Meri's AMV from years and years ago (and a favorite of mine).

You can also find it in the Archived DBZ AMV section of her Temple'o'Trunks website.

Seriously, I have never heard that song before, nor have I ever seen Highlander. In fact, I discovered Princes of the Universe by accident on Youtube. Queen may be mainly known for We Are the Champions, Another One Bites the Dust, and Bohemian Rhapsody, but once you delve into some of their other songs, you understand just how great of a band they were.
80's arena rock has always been one of my favorite types of music, and I was born after the 80's. It just has a style to it that is different than typical rock and roll and metal.
Now I've got a movie I need to see.

As a matter of fact, I have heard Stone Cold Crazy. Both versions in fact.Kendamu wrote:Haha! Wasn't meaning to own the thread. S'jus'that you picked a song made for Highlander and Queen and Highlander go together like bread'n'butter!
While you're at it, check out the song "Stone Cold Crazy." It's a really good Queen song, too.

You made me curious, so I looked up that song with Dragon Ball, and all I came up with is this:RoarkVegeta wrote:JUST A SMALL TOWN GIRL.
