Favorite Faulconer track?

Re: Favorite Faulconer track?
I've already mentioned Super Buu's theme is my fave but I would tie it with the piano version that was used ONCE. And to top it off it hasn't been officially released. Damn shame.

Re: Favorite Faulconer track?
Well, I've got a few favorites so far, without having seen the Buu arc.
Ginyu Force Theme (Funny how this doesn't actually play for the first time until only Ginyu and Jeice are left)
Ginyu Transformation (Love it's usage for Cell's death in particular)
Gohan Fights The Spice Boys (Loved it's usage on the Cell Jr. massacre)
Goku vs. 19 (Why hasn't this played again?)
Piccolo vs. 17 (Even more epic in the Goku vs. Cell battle)
Gohan Angers (Love this scene, but I hated how it gets cut off by Mr. Satan's jingle)
Do any of these show up in the Buu arc?

Re: Favorite Faulconer track?
That Ginyu song was used when Kid Buu blew up the earth. Honestly, the combination of that music and the sight of everyone trying to out-fly the expanding explosion was actually pretty chilling when i first saw the it on tv back in high school. It's actually one of my all-time favorite moments in the series.Valerius Dover wrote: ...

Re: Favorite Faulconer track?
I think that "Goku vs 19" is played quite a few times in the Buu arc as is "Gohan Angers" when Gohan is fighting Buu. And I recall "Ginyu Transformation" theme being played twice (Kid Buu blows up the Earth and when Goku first attempts to throw the the Genki Dama at Kid Buu).Valerius Dover wrote:Well, I've got a few favorites so far, without having seen the Buu arc.

Does anyone know the Bruce Faulconer theme for when Goku says "You think you know everything about me but really, youre not even close" when he encounters #20 just before he shows off Super Saiyan.

But if a story is perfectly coherent (and I'm really not seeing any compelling arguments that this one is anything but, despite constantly recurring, really poorly reasoned, attempts to argue otherwise), and you're bemoaning the lack of "shine" moments as a reason for the story's poor quality, then you're letting your thirst for "shine" moments obfuscate your ability to detect basic storytelling when it's right in front of you.

Is it just me or did Faulconer et al have Death as an "influence" the same way there were allegations about them ripping SOAD?

It's hard for me to pick a favorite faulconer track I love pretty much all of them. From vegeta's ssj theme to the ginyu transformation theme I could just go on and on.

Once you see the Buu Saga Faulconer you're in for a treat. IMHO Buu Saga and Faulconer's score go hand in hand. There's just so many great tracks played at the right times. Not perfect but still greatValerius Dover wrote:Well, I've got a few favorites so far, without having seen the Buu arc.

Not only that but Vegeta's SS theme just moments before, ah man that was just pure awesome, can't wait for the blu-ray of S6.Valerius Dover wrote:Well, I've got a few favorites so far, without having seen the Buu arc.

Oh man that jingle was annoying as hell, they played it during the SS3 scene too

Re: Favorite Faulconer track?
Oh, yeah, I like that theme, too. I don't really have any inherent problem with the sillier tracks, but it really affected that scene when it cut off the other track so abruptly. Speaking of jingles, that Eyecatch theme is awkward-sounding. It's a track from the Ginyu episodes. The first Eyecatch theme sounds much better. More smooth.Baggie_Saiyan wrote: Not only that but Vegeta's SS theme just moments before, ah man that was just pure awesome, can't wait for the blu-ray of S6.

I found some more perfectly rchestrated versions of the most iconic BF tracks here. These are really breath-taking enhancements.
This is what I would have wanted for Kai.

Re: Favorite Faulconer track?
Those are awesome remixes.
Re: Favorite Faulconer track?
Wait, did Faulconer do those remixes himself? Holy crap, i hadn't heard a thing about him since he stopped working on the series so many years ago. It's nice to see he's still involved in the franchise, even if unofficially.SaiyanZ wrote:He personally ripped this for me 4:00 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4_2mOn1cpg

Strange. I must be one of the few here who doesn't dislike Faulconer. In fact, I actually like his tracks. And I didn't even grew up with him, I grew up with the japanese track like most people. My favorites is the SSJ3 Ascension theme. One of the very very few scenes I think the Funimation dub did better.

Re: Favorite Faulconer track?
The guy who arranged them has others, his mystic Gohan theme is low quality but imo the perfect interpretation where its orchestrated, and the drums are the japanese wooden ones rather than the usual steel snares. I thought that was perfect. I always felt DBZ should have had some japanese instruments to it like Naruto's OSTs. Seems it would be more fitting to that Asian old-world feeling than just long urban guitar riffs even used in Kai.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Just finished the Cell Games today (for the first time since it aired) and this maybe my fav track yet:

Re: Favorite Faulconer track?
Mystic Gohan and the episode title card. Bruce Faulconer is truly a great composer!
Re: Favorite Faulconer track?
Oh no, Faulconer himself didn't rip it XD, I meant it was just a random YouTuber who decided to rip the whole "SSJ3 Powerup" theme instead of just the standard one on the albumMorgil wrote:Wait, did Faulconer do those remixes himself?
